We absolutely love this H-E-B. It's our favorite supermarket and we shop here all the time since we live very close by. Almost all of our groceries come from this location. The store always has a great selection of fresh products, everything is well organized, and it's easy to find what you need without wasting time. The quality is consistently good, especially the fresh food and ready-to-eat sections. The store is clean, well stocked, and the overall shopping experience is always comfortable. HEB is near my house and is convenient but I'm displeased with the butcher near. The premarinated skirt steak looks nice on top but the bottom is full of skin. H-E-B is basically the grocery store in Texas, and once you shop there for a while, it kind of ruins other supermarkets for you. First off, it just feels better to shop there. The stores are usually clean, well-organized, and not chaotic in that "why is this aisle always a disaster?" way you get elsewhere. The produce section is consistently solid--fresh fruit, good veggies, and a lot of Texas/local stuff depending on the season. It's one of those places where you can actually trust that what looks good... is good. The meat department is another win. Decent prices, good quality, and the staff will actually help if you need something specific instead of acting like you're bothering them. Same vibe with seafood and deli--pretty reliable across the board. One thing people always mention (and it's true) is the H-E-B store brand stuff. A lot of it is just as good as name brands, sometimes better, and cheaper. Tortillas, chips, basic pantry stuff, dairy--it all hits. Once you start grabbing their brand by default, you stop caring about the national brands pretty quickly. The ready-to-eat section is also underrated. Rotisserie chicken, hot foods, sushi in some locations, quick grab-and-go meals--it's not gourmet, but it's actually good for what it is. Super helpful when you don't feel like cooking. Prices overall are fair, especially compared to bigger national chains. You can definitely shop cheap here without feeling like you're buying low-quality stuff. Only real downside is it gets busy. I am here visiting from indiana. We are staying in an airbnb close by and needed food for the weekend. My experience here was great! Everything we needed could be found at great prices. The playlist was even great as I pushed my cart through the aisles humming the tunes of the 80s and 90s. We got fresh fruit, grass fed beef, snacks, and more. As an allergy sensitive family, we found what we needed. Super thankful for that. My favorite part, though, was the check out process. I was greeted by Jordan at the register and William bagged my groceries. Both were kind and engaging and made the experience great. They showed true hospitality. After buying cakes and cupcakes for years from HEB, I was very disappointed when I went the other day to order a cake from this location. I asked if one of the ingredients in it contained gelatin and the employee notified me that all of their cakes/cupcakes contain gelatin (pork products). If you are vegetarian, steer clear of the HEB bakery. They should at least put up a sign someone saying that none of their cakes/cupcakes are vegetarian. I think they can easily find a fix for this and use a vegetarian substitute for gelatin. Update: I called another HEB bakery location (canyon ridge drive) and the bakery manager read through the ingredients and stated that their cakes/cupcakes don't contain gelatin (unless you add on certain cake fillings). I left a message for their corporate office and will update this review when I hear back. read more

The fruit/vegetable/bakery department is amazing. Management needs to get the store under control. Too many people! Store is too small! Limited checkout lines, people waiting ten minutes to buy things even in the 15 items or less lines (I timed it). Self checkout? Still got to wait there too. They are building a mega apartment complex nearby. What do you think is going to happen when it opens? It is going to get even worse. Isles need to be bigger for influx of people. This store brings a VERY low caliber crowd. I recently was verbally harassed by a crass customer while checking out as I had a large order and she was impatient with my loading speed. After badgering me about it for some time, management finally came over & showed her all the other free lanes she was welcome to walk to - yet this deranged customer refused to leave my lane nor be quiet about it. They gave up with her and let her continue to yell. The scene was ridiculous. I can't wait for the new location in town to open and we will not be returning to this location. If I have to go grocery shopping for the staples, this is the place I go. They have everything I need and the brands that I want. There really isn't any hunting for deals that you have to do since all the deals are displayed with their very visible yellow coupons. My only complaint would be that their protein cookies used to be 3 for $5 and now they are about $1.80 a piece. They did have a deal where if you bought 2 you got one free but that was only after clipping the coupon. Oh, and I wish their bulk section was bigger (central market bigger). Maybe that's asking a bit much since central market is the upscale version of H‑E‑B. If you want to get a good cut of farm raised salmon, this is the place to go! read more

I never really thought about rating a grocery store... but I have had several experiences at this HEB that have now made me feel like I should. I like to buy Flowers for my wife... where I came from the florist and the local Whole Foods all knew me by voice alone. Then I moved to Austin... I have bought flowers from a florist twice and they were ok, but I like the extraordinary! And both times they were just ok... just hadn't found "that" place yet. Then I started going to this HEB... as a rule their flower selection is pretty good. Fresh, clean, a bit costly, but in general pretty good (I believe when it comes to flowers you get what you pay for!)! Then I started to watch their cooler... ! I'm not sure who is doing some of their arrangements but WOW! This was what I had been looking for! Large arrangements, unique looks, with lots of just flat out WOW! These were just made up and put in the cooler for sale... no order, no waiting... just walk up and select. PERFECT! I have been to several other HEB locations and they have not had this. I'm not sure who does this at this location, but HEB please listen to me... do not lose this! I buy flowers quite often and have no issue spending 100$ or more each time... and you have got me coming to you first! Please keep it up! Now the other experience... My wife and I like wine... I think we all know that really it is an essential... right? Well HEB has a good selection... and I like to try new types. Nothing exceptional here right? HEB has a great selection so going here for wine is a no brainer. However during my last time at this HEB I observed a lady, who I can only assume was a manager, helping a lady in the wine aisle. The customer was asking for cheap wine selections... I mean like 2 buck chuck stuff and what was better and really tying up this manager. The amazing thing was... the manager never faltered... she took her everywhere explained the differences and spent the time really helping! All for about a 6$ bottle. And when she was done she thanked the customer and didn't run from the aisle... she then helped people in beer, back in wine, and she was truly knowledgeable! I listened and even asked her some questions... she knew her stuff!! Kudos to HEB and their staff! This was a study in customer service! This HEB has become my goto store for sure! read more

I love my H-E-B. I walked in for a few items and ended up grabbing four racks of ribs for under under $20. Add another $11 for post oak wood pellets and I'm heading home to smoke some ribs. They are now smoked and vacuum sealed into Eight two serving sized bags. That comes out to about $1.53 a serving. read more

Went here today 11/25 after church. This is not my HEB I go to the Hutto HEB plus. This store has poor parking to start. It is definitely showing its age. It has very narrow rows and was very busy which made it aggravating. I hope I never have to go back to this location. I love HEB just not this store. read more

But the reason I love this store is because of the "people w/ children parking". I have used other same style heb car washes for around 15 years. This Pfulgerville location recently left my car with scratches ALL over it. Looks like smaller versions of someone keying your paint job. There are too many scratches to count. I am very upset; cannot afford to have my car repaint due to simply driving it through the wash. This HEB is our go to in Pflugerville. We can always expect freshness when we come here. Most of the employees I've met at this particular location have been very kind, helpful and friendly. The other day I bought a really nice bamboo indoor plant for a housewarming gift. Their seafood section always has great variety of fresh fish, shellfish and crustaceans. The layout however can be quite confusing even though we have visited quite a bit. Can't wait for them to be done with their construction because every time I visit, the loud noises give me a headache. read more

It's not rare when i come to HEB and get amazing costumer service from the cashier's. This morning i came in to do my grocery shopping for the week i normally get very big orders and i always feel so bad lol, i just so happen to get lucky and end up in Miss Faith's line. She is just too cute, so sweet and she is also very well mannered! She immediately greeted me with a big smile and also helped me with some coupon difficulties. She managed to get through my big order fast while also making sure to move my bread and eggs out the way keeping them safe. I'm glad the renovations are basically complete... The store is still discombobulated in my OCD having opinion. I hate that the butter and yogurt isn't by the milk and eggs. Random. It's clean, cashiers are nice...yet mostly very slow. Always a line like Tech Ridge even at obscure times like 7am and 11pm. So don't go in a rush. On the weekends sometimes they walk around with the HEB Buddy person in costume and pas out snacks to the kids. Parking lot sucks too lol. read more

I've determined that this is the best HEB within a three-mile radius of my apartment. When judging HEBs I look at layout, selection and quality of produce, the bulk section, and number of products available. This location tics all of those boxes. Organic tofu, check. Sulfate-free shampoo, check. A plethora of pre-cut veggies and fresh prepped meals, you betcha. Okay, okay, I'm into all that bougie stuff, and this HEB does it right! I went in late night and they still had plenty of produce stocked. The store was clean and organized. The layout was intuitive. The only thing that bothers me is how massive the store is, but there's no helping that. I still don't completely have a feel for the neighborhood, but it seemed safe late night. As far as I could see there was no security holed-up in the parking lot. A sleepy HEB for a sleepy part of town. read more

I have shopped at this HEB for 22 years and have developed contacts that I consider friends but unfortunately will no longer be able to shop inside this store. Saturday, September 3, 2022, I was parked in front of the curbside doors when I was confronted by a HEB employee. The female was abusive in language and told me in no uncertain terms that HEB does not care if I shop at this location. She shoved her employee name tag in my face (actually in my face) to which I took inside the store to a manager to report. The manager that I spoke to I have known for years but he was not the store manager. When I was walking back to my car, the employee demanded her name tag back and I told her the name of the management I had given the name tag. The employee charged me and it took two other employees to hold her back as she was shouting. I called the store again and Javier, the manager called and left a message that he was looking into the situation. Today I received a call that the employee (or partner which is how HEB refers to employees) will still be seen working at the store. While Javier was polite and apologized for the "partner's" behavior, I no longer feel the location is a safe place to shop. If HEB considers this person as a "partner", then this is no longer a location that a 63 year old breast cancer patient is going to shop. I will miss the nice people who I have grown to know over the past 22 years, but safety in this crazy world must be considered. read more

I enjoy shopping here at this H-E-B. This place is always clean and very spacious to shop around. Checkout lanes are always open not like Wal-mart where you only have four lanes. All the self-check outs are always open for the express shoppers. They have great deals going on almost everytime I am shopping there. The staff here at this H-E-B is always friendly. I have saved a lot of money by shopping at H-E-B and the food seems to last a lot longer and tastes better the food I used to buy when I shopped at Wal-mart. Another thing is they always have shopping carts with families who have a few little ones. I love their shopping cart area for the parents who have toddlers. They have even have reserved parking for parents with toddlers. If you are looking for a relax shopping atmosphere this is the place to shop. read more

This about the pharmacy not the store. My dr sent a prescription in at 8:30am. I get here at 11:30 and I'm told it's a two hour wait to get a prescription filled. Whatever. I'm sitting here watching a young girl at the counter obviously totally pissed about something. She is flat out ignoring people and being very short with them. Older people and one lady who didn't speak English very well. Appalling to watch. Get these type of people out of your stores. No one wants to come wait on prescriptions. I normally use the automated system except the days I am at the dr and get a new prescription. This is ridiculous. If you can't be polite to the elderly and minorities you don't belong here. read more

Good location off Pecan and the layout makes it easy to find items. The staff I've encountered are all friendly and the business center is helpful as well. Word of caution though this place gets packed on weekends, even fairly early in the morning so we end up going Friday afternoon. The produce is pretty bleak so we go elsewhere for that. Am rating the cake I ordered from the bakery . . . they put on enough icing that even I couldn't finish it! Mom was turning 60, so I had them put a picture from 30 years ago on the cake and it turned out beautifully. Even though it was a half-sheet carrot cake with cream cheese icing and huge picture on half of it, it was still less than $40 (bought a lot that day, so I don't remember exactly, but it was probably $38). It tasted delicious, everyone loved it, and I never thought I could have enough cream cheese icing, but I did! The rest of the decoration on the cake was very well done. So I was just in the store and an employee dropped a pickle jar in the checkout line. My bagger says that she will get towels and leaves. When she got back my cashier asks her where the towels are. The bagger shakes her head and says something I couldn't hear. The cashier said you're not going to help? My bagger responded that "she was new so I don't really care" I mean seriously? So while I LOVE HEB, this is by far my least favorite one to shop at. But, its the easiest one to get to on my way home from work, so it works for somethings, but if you prefer Organic foods, this is NOT the HEB to go to. Every time I have shopped here, they are out of organic frozen broccoli. Theyve got peas, carrots, corn and spinach, but never broccoli. Which wouldnt be THE worst thing in the world, but their Organic produce is just a bad. Minimal at best. Last night there were NO green pepers. Literally, not one. There were tons of reds, oranges and yellows, no green. Their fruit and veggie options for fresh Organic produce is poor. They do NOT carry Organic cheeses, hot dogs, bacon, or chicken nuggets/patties. Every time I have been I have searched the store, and asked not one or 2, bht 3 HEB employees, and they too dont know if they carry them. They dont. Even on many simple items, while shoping, I notice how many things are competely out of stock. Clean? Yes! Friendly associates? Very! Great gas prices? Totally. But for me, HEB Greenlawn is hands down the best next to Sprouts for fair priced, and abundant Organic produce. read more

I grocery shop at my HEB on a regular basis, although sometimes I digress to the Wally world down the way, but HEB has the prepared meals that I like and I love their produce. Did you know you can get a money order at the Business Center by swiping your debit card? This may not seem like a big deal, but when you work with money orders routinely (I am in Real Estate) this is a boon to know because the client doesn't have to make multiple withdrawels from an ATM and then buy a money order at a cheesy gas station that smells like hot dogs. so for this and for the fact that they usually have plenty of lanes open, I love my HEB! read more

I shop at the HEB on Gattis School Road and Red Bud and I really like it. The layout makes more sense to me than some. (I don't like how they almost try and trap you in the produce section at some grocery stores). I won't buy my produce or meat from anywhere else. Period. I used to work produce at HEB in college and they were sticklers for rotation and culling. The Hill Country Fare is probably the best store brand option of any store brand. I don't buy the HCF items for everything, but for many things it is just as good as some of the more expensive name brand items. I have been very pleased with their selection and quality/freshness of the meat and produce. Sometimes they could use more cashiers but for the most part you get in and out pretty quick. read more

This is MY HEB. I love this place. I love that I know my butcher and he'll do anything I ask. He even gives my cooking suggestions. The Deli counter folks ask about my husband if they haven't seen him in a while. The sushi counter will take a minute to make a fresh roll for my 8 year old son because he's a regular.
