While at HEB today my husband and I were trying to win a toy for our daughter from the claw machines at the front of the store, and we found that the machines were incapable of actually picking up the toys themselves to win them. We spoke to a woman at the self checkout counters to inquire about how to buy it from the machine as it has a "Win it for $1 or Buy it for $15" advertisement. She was unaware of how to do that so she called over her "manager", Mr. Shelby. Shelby was also unaware of how to buy them from the machine even after asking other employees including in the business center and repeatedly stated it was the sole responsibility of the third party supplier of the machines. He also continuously tried to direct us to the number on the machine (which as it turns out was only a "request repairs" number) and called the store manager to the front as per our request. Miss Gwen came to the front of the store to address us and unfortunately had no more information to give or anything else to add besides her dismissive and condescending tone and to once again, for the umpteenth time, direct us to the useless number on the machine, shirking any personal responsibility onto the company and proving no one at HEB was going to take credit or responsibility for allowing, encouraging, or possibly asking the third party supplier to put these machines in the store to waste their customers money and disappoint many children and patrons. Our main grievance was that no one knew anything and didnt try to find out any more information about these machines regardless of whether they are third party suppliers since they are in their store and probably have cost many people money that have been confused by the advertisement of the machine or their "malfunctioning" without the store trying to find a way to contact them besides "whenever them come next" as stated by Gwen when she smugly offered to take our name and number and leave it at the business center for these unknown people at whatever unknown time they would appear. When this was explained to Gwen she dismissed us, in our opinion, under the impression that we had insignificant knowledge in comparison to a woman her age, doubtful that she realized regardless of our respectful nature and blatant clothing choice that made it obvious of my husband's veteran status for fighting for the right she has to act so prejudiced towards us as younger patrons and be a disrespectful and rude store "supervisor". Nonetheless we took a peaceful leave and respectfully wished her a pleasant day. We will be reporting it to corporate management and posting it on any social media platform necessary for anyone to know so no one wastes their money in the claw machines and the staff at HEB be re-trained in customer care or replaced with more knowledgable, respectful, and caring employees. This was a big disappointment for us because we choose to shop here so often and usually the store has very helpful and understanding employees that work hard to maintain the quality of business and customer appreciation that HEB is generally known for. This experience puts a bad taste in the mouth of common patrons and that is very unfortunate for the community and the business/local business. No one else seems willing to bring any of these matters to the attention of the public as even Gwen remarked that she didnt get any complaints" so we will be those people to hopefully encourage others to do so also and help HEB be better. read more

The employees are honestly very nice, and while this may be a very simple thing as I had been searching for some quarter cut watermelon that they selling for a dollar, I had really wanted to buy some, but then found out they were sold out out. HOWEVER, the same employee who I had asked about the watermelon and told me they were sold, had miraculously been able to salvage/find one just as I was about to check out of heb with my purchases. To that employee, you might never see this, but you sir were a fucking angel! read more

H-E-Bs are without a doubt my favorite everyday grocery store chain. Only their Central Markets do I like better. Stopped in here to stock up on one their flavored waters and they were out on the shelves. They were kind enough to bring out two cases! Great service. read more

This HEB is soo nice. I stopped here to get some drinks and snacks for the river. It reminds me so much of the one in San Antonio off Bandera/1604 except it's newer. The HEB is really big but it is easy to find things and it is clean. The people that work here are really friendly and nice. I was jealous that they have a bunch of juices that we don't have in San Antonio. If you're on your way to go tubing or anything else in New Braunfels I definitely recommend stopping here to get what you need! read more

The newest HEB on IH35 across from the iconic Buc-Ces is here! It is industrial and functional with gourmet offerings in the cheese and wine sections but also some down home sundries you expect to find at HEB. They just need to finish with the parking lot on the southeast corner where they tore down the Exxon. read more

This review is for the car wash. This is the slowest car wash I've ever been forced to wait for. I purchased it at the pump and then got in line. Big mistake. It took 10 minutes for the first car to be washed and I was stuck in line because there is a curb and grass on either side and with cars in front and behind you be prepared to spend your lunch time. I'm able to type this review with yet 2 more cars in front of me. Not good. read more

I recently moved from East Texas where we don't have HEB's. My husband and I are OBSESSED with this HEB Plus--it's so nice and you can find literally anything you need. I love to stop by on my lunch break and pick up some fresh sushi and see what all they have in the dispensers. Their meet and cheeses and good and fresh too AND a great beer selection! I'm not a fan of the plus versions. It seems to be a little disorganized compared to other super grocery stores I have been to. The store is designed that if you are grocery shopping you are forced to walk the whole perimeter of the store. If you need an item or two you can find your self zigzagging around this monstrous store. So tip ware your walking shoes and don't come without ha ring an hour to spend. read more

I have never had any issues with the store itself as long as you don't shop on Sunday evenings when they are stocking shelves. The pharmacy on the other hand which I am not sure is actually under HEB control is another issue. There certainly seems to be a much different focus on service. Just out of a post surgery check up the Dr write 3 prescriptions for eye meds so no counting, drop 3 bottles in a bag. Not wanting to be a jerk I make a stop at Petco and Whataburger on the way over to give them time to process it. 44 minutes later I arrive and sit in a line to get service. I expected that so no issue. Can't give me my meds because it only arrived 10 minutes before. I did see the Dr. send it before I left so closer to an hour. They asked me to come back in 10 minutes so they could "type it up." Lets not forget this post surgery meds. So I won't move. I have already waited and waited in line. Finally the Pharmacist comes over and asks me to move for the sake of the 3 cars behind me. Fair enough - I may have made my point but I doubt it. I pull around to the back of the 3 car line. I am still not sure why they don't mind asking me to wait for the sake of the 3 cars behind me not waiting. 3 labels on 3 bottles how long can that take. Get 3 people to type 1 label each? About 1.5 hours for 3 bottles. Seriously? If you are picking up Pain meds at any point I certainly would want to reconsider. Her take a couple laps around the parking lot and we will get you something in a bit. I really hope the pharmacy is not part of HEB. It is certainly not the same service as the store. It is as if it is some outsourced service. read more

So I was at the HEB at I-35 and fM 306 in New Braunfels and couldn't find the Bic lighters where they have always been by the registers, no cigarette lighters in fact were to be found. So when I asked one of the High School kids in a red shirt that HEB loves to hire where they had moved them, she told me she didn't think they sold them any more. I didn't have time or patience to deal with her obvious lack of knowledge so I left. I later called the store to ask someone in the office where they had moved them. Imagine my surprise when he told me they don't carry cigarette lighters any more, but that I could get them at the gas station in the parking lot. I asked if that was only this store, and he confirmed that it was. Getting a bit annoyed I asked whose brilliant idea that was and he said maybe a vendor or manager. Wow HEB, great job in deciding to kerep selling cigarettes but making me shop somewhere else to be able to light the things. I stopped shopping at both Target and CVS when they decided to be the moral police and not sell tobacco. Guess it's time to find another grocery store too. read more

I stopped at the HEB plus to pick up a few things. When I got them out at home, I found that the meat I bought wasn't in any of the bags. I checked my car and my receipt. I had paid for it. So I went back to the store and to the same cashier. She told me the bagger put all of my bags in my cart. I told her that the meat was left out. She told me it wasn't and called the manager. He came over and told me that no meat had been turned in. I explained to him that it was not in my bags and that I live a considerable distance away abd would not have driven all the way back with the current gas prices if the items weren't missing. I asked to see my receipt and said he'd be right back. After a little while he returned, told me he had looked at the cameras and that all of my bags were put in my basket and I left the store with them. I told him again that the meat was not in any of the bags. He just repeated, implying I was lying, that all of the bags were put in my basket and I left the store with them. I don't appreciate the implication that I was lying and the fact that he did nothing to resolve the situation. I emailed HEB, but do not expect a resolution after coming home and reading all the complaints of unresolved situations. I will not be shopping at HEB anymore. If you should choose to, check your bags before you leave the store. And your receipt. read more

I am so disappointed in the check out we got today. The cashier wasn't at the register when we walked up. Then throw our groceries ( produce ) around like he didn't care if he damaged it. When he was done checking us out he handed me the receipt and walked away and started doing other things and then started to ring up another customer. When I started bagging my own groceries, my husband asked is this normal, we have to bag our own groceries? To which the young man said yes. Guess what, no, he lied to us. We did report him to a CSM up front who gave us lip service and said they would talk to him. HEB, your customer service has gone down hill. You need your employee to go back to the week of service training. Where they were taught how to treat their customers and how to properly bag groceries. read more

Once again HEB has been a disappointment. Anniversary dinner (live lobster) nowhere to find. I go through this each year scampering to find our annual feast. ''I normally love shopping here, I live in San Marcos and we don't have a big fancy HEB plus there! so I love driving down here to shop here instead of the ones in San Marcos. I love the bulk section, and the aisles are so organized. They have a great selection of organic foods including's meats and dairy. The garden section here has a great verity of flowers and plants. If you live in San Marcos or not in New Braunfels I would suggest you driving down to check this new place out. read more

Good experience here. Display people were friendly and engaging without being disruptive with their promotions. Cashier was not super friendly but that may have been because Ana started bagging my groceries and carried on an engaging conversation about the brussel sprouts I purchased. New H-E-B is a disappointment. Has fresh bakery but no fresh bread. They open at six and it's now 7:42am. The Tortelleria also a disappointment...has no fresh tortillas and machine is down as I'm told. Phone service is horrible! A guy Robert answered the phone. Right off the bat he sounded like he was frustrated. So I ask to speak to a manager. He then asked me what I was trying to do, as if he could help. So I gave him the benefit of the doubt. I was calling to check a price on water park passes at this location. He answered... "I don't know off the top of my head". Also said if I wanna know go to the prepaid aisle. I'm in my car driving from Fort Worth... trying to price a ticket! Big thanks to HEB curbside and staff! I forgot my wallet, had to drive across town and then drive back to HEB. I had my two year old in the car and it was pouring rain.
