Heb has been reducing the quality of their products. I used to eat the baby Swiss cheese from the deli, but I noticed it has changed to something I don't recognize. The heb baby Swiss used to taste and smell like Swiss cheese now it's just a salty creamy imposter. It's a completely different and inferior product. Bluntly said, it's gross. See photo. Ate at the BBQ restaurant inside. They have no Diet Dr Pepper and no Sweet n Low sweeteners. Notice seeing several employees getting their orders ahead of those of us standing in a long line. Hmmmm I have seen this activity before. Ice Tea wasn't of great quality. Staff on a one to ten scale are a five. I got a loaded baked potato. It was good but not as good as Rudys's or as good as baked potatoes that I have had at other HEB BBQ Cafe's. read more

Do not get food delivered from this place for the below reasons. We had previously stopped having food delivered because the expiration date on the meat was close or expired, the worst selections that could be made. The fruit was nearly all bad half the time and once my daughter's eating strawberries had insects covering it. They damage numerous items as well and crush the bread. We got super busy and decided we had no other choice but to have it delivered at 7:30 PM yesterday and this time 75.00 in food was missing on a 300.00 grocery order. My wife and I opened the list to see what was missing and checked it with what was in the bags just to be sure. Attached are the groceries that cost 300.00. I've done 2 curbside pickups here and the last one made me so happy. The delivery girl asked if my pup wanted a treat and she went all the way back inside to get it. It absolutely made my day! Not only is H‑E‑B such a great place to grocery shop, but having wonderful, thoughtful people, such as that young lady, puts the icing on the cake. Therir drivers cannot speak English and they are incapable of following directions since they don't speak English. The the end result is you don't get your groceries and get charged for deliveries that are never delivered. This store is in Austin on 360"also extremely difficult to contact and get help. I have loved coming to this location since it got redone, however I had an encounter today that was unpleasant with a cashier. I entered the express lane since there was no line (and the store wasn't busy) and unloaded my half empty cart. While unloading, the cashier makes a remark about how my items are clearly over 15. She did not greet me and say hello or ask me to switch lanes once she saw my cart, it felt as though she made that statement to make me feel shame for somehow trying to cheat the system. H-E-B I beg you, please come to California!!!!! Every time I come visit the grandkids we make a bee line to this store. Texans, I hope you know what a gem of a store you have. I spent an hours admiring the selection of everything from salsas/hot sauces, shredded cheeses, baked beans, tuna fish (see pics) soups, desserts (the best banana pudding) and freshly made tortillas. They have an excellent beer and wine section. Plus a huge produce section as well as cooked meals. This store has the advantage of a delicious True Texas BBQ place out front. Here everything's better! This place is HUGE! It's new and improved! They built this newer, larger HEB in the shadow of the previous HEB here on Walnut in New Braunfels. This one is now the flagship NB HEB! This HEB is one of the few ones to have the new home section of HEB. It's got some furniture, housewares, decor, things that you don't usually see at a grocer. The produce section here is one of the best around. It's giant, fresh, and has lots of room to display the fresh produce. It looks great. The butcher and fishmonger are similar- oversized, and lots to see. It's got the HEB BBQ in it. This stuff is serious BBQ. Huge portions, slow smoked all night long by Texas' premier purveyors of meat. These guys have some BBQ chops and street cred. This alone is worth checking out. The seasonal section always has fun stuff. My favorite thing about this HEB is the clearance section which is back by the pets section in the back of the store. Here, you'll find some of the best deals- 50%+! Parking is easy now that they've expanded the new lot and tore down the older, smaller HEB. It's visible from I-35. read more

After having used this overpriced service for more than two years, it has gotten worse. 3/4 times a month items are missing from list and we were not notified until coming home and realizing that the order was incomplete. All we were told was well we are trying to hire more people and the quality of employees are just not what they used to be. How is this my problem? This HEB location is always the go-to as I make my way into San Antonio and easily accessible off of IH 35 south to get to. Super easy to park, get inside and get what you need, then get right back on the highway due to the size of this location. The layout of the store is a bit "older" than other HEB's but this is an advantage, in my opinion, to be able to come in and grab what you need and get right back on the road. The most positive experience I have had here is when I received my COVID vaccine here. The signage to get your vaccine, the check-in process at the pharmacy, and the privacy of when you get your vaccine is ideal for the space here. We came to this HEB two times for both vaccination appointments and it was super smooth each time. There is construction going on in the HEB parking lot (further west part of the lot) and at peak times on the weekend parking may be a challenge but if you are okay with walking a little bit to the front entrance you should be fine. Unsure what they are working on - maybe expansion? Friendly faces and service here when I wanted to buy a lawn chair outside. I had to get someone to help unchain the chair for me but I received super fast and efficient help when I inquired inside about it. read more

The new H‑E‑B on Walnut has hit it out of the ballpark! Wide and well lit aisles. Produce sections bursting with fresh veggies and fruit. Grab and go right up front with sushi counter and bakery. Oh and don't forget the BBQ that makes you drool as soon as you walk in. Complete with a 2 level eating area which includes tvs and a happy hour. Friendly staff well stocked shelves and a very well thought out flow to the store. Although parking is tight the store has shuttles to take if you to the store wish to park across the street till the old building comes down. Well done H‑E‑B! This new HEB in New Braunfels with barbecue restaurant is great. Wanted to check it out. Of course the market is awesome. Love the layout. Very easy to manuver around. They even have maps at end of aisle in case you need help finding something. Check out was a breeze too and service was great as usual. This review is for market only. Didn't get a chance to visit the restaurant part. Hopefully they fix parking part soon. That's the only thing that's a hassle right now. They are building location in Cibolo and opening in 2023. Can't wait and so excited to have one in my neighborhood. read more

All the people are super nice but I think it would be great if you hired some older people, people who shop for groceries and know not to put a bag of potatoes in top a bag of chips. The shoppers also can't pick good produce. Often my produce is ruined already or overripe when I ask for it not to be. They don't read my notes. Please hire older people. This HEb is one I wanted to check out. I heard about the remodel. The bbq joint is two story. The wine selection was so large. They even have a tasting area. Service was stellar. My family and I even checked out the home and garden center. Great remodel. Hope the parking gets adjusted soon. read more

This HEB location has the best customer service hands down! I had several issues with my payment this evening right at closing time and Alexander B was absolutely amazing handling it! With 2 guests in line behind me naturally you feel anxious and horrible holding up the line, especially at closing time. But Alex and the sweet girl assisting with bagging were so warm, accommodating and efficient I was just floored. You don't get this type of customer care really ever. 10/10 recommend not only this amazing new HEB in New Braunfels but their staff as well:) Thank you HEB team! read more

The parking lot situation is completely a mess, there is a whole football field of parking available but unusable. We waiting for 10 mintutes trying to find parking only to see that the orange cones where blocking us from the main lot. RIDICULOUS mis-management of this new store. A couple weeks ago I was shopping at this HEB, when a female employee went hurrying by me. She almost ran into me. She said no apology. She just kept hurrying on. There's always smiling face is waiting to greet you as you walk through the store. One day I went in and I had a terrible checkout experience with a cashier who may have been having a bad day. I called and I spoke to the front and cashier manager Danny. I let him know how The transaction went and that my cashier wasn't so friendly. He thanked me for calling to let him know and he said he'd go out and monitor the cashiers. Since that incident I've been back to the store three more times. Each time that I've gone I've witnessed Danny up at the front and observing the cashiers with a smiling face interacting with customers and even helping the cashiers bag the customer's groceries. Danny is a good Manager and it's evident through his cashiers in the way they treat customers. The bakery department staff are nice as well but I don't like the cake work. I ordered a special cake for my husband on Father's Day with a message from our kids. The picture came out grainy and distorted... definitely not looking like the one they had advertised. I'm disappointed in the way it came out. I will never order a cake from here again!!! I'll stick to Walmart bakery which has proven over and over that they can deliver an awesomely decorated cake. The only reason I ordered a cake from here in the first place is because Walmart's printer was broken. Lesson learned!!! 3 stars for Danny and his crew and 1 for the bakery's ATTEMPT at making a decent cake. read more

I wanted to move my curbside order to an earlier AVAILABLE time slot. I was told moving it 20 min after it was placed would totally disrupt their process. And that "ma'am you placed the order at that time." The workers were dismissive and not understanding my point tht it is a bit unfair to the customer. However, I realized there is no need to waste my breath, if I don't like their policy or the attitude of the workers then I can go elsewhere. read more

Yee-haw y'all! I just came down from Gruene, and was in and out of this place faster than a Pack -n- Sack! I know it sounds unbelievable, but the two ingredients I needed were shredded Parmesan cheese and an 18 pack of bud light. Most HEB's or Wal-Marts would have you wander around the store for these ingredients - but not in New Braunfels - I SWEAR, that both of these ingredients were found within the first two aisles of the entrance that I chose - I LOVE this place because of this!!! HEB has everything: sushi, wine, seafood, fresh bread, and pet food. I love when they give samples around the store, which include wine, artisan cheeses, sodas, and dips. I just wish they would do it more often, but on most days, you can always sample the sushi. Right outside this location, there is a sno cone stand, which is packed during the summer with hot, parched visitors. I love HEB for all my plants during spring, as they have all the vegetables that I need, and they especially have all the fertilizer, tools, and seeds. Just wanted to add, I nearly slipped down the aisle when I saw that HEB now has a freestanding display in the center of the store by the sushi containing every Mexican candy that I used to have to drive to Seguin to get at the Mexican grocer. There are chamoy candies, Lucas powder, every dulce (milk candy) of every flavor and nuts (praline, walnuts, almonds). For this display alone--I'm gonna be caruzing (my word) the aisles of HEB. read more

Have you ever been to a theme park? That's what it is like going to this store. I like theme parks. I don't like parking 150 yards away to enter the theme park. This HEB; same concept. Why would this store open when they clearly weren't prepared to. Also- I certainly hope they pay their cart people extra right now because those poor kids were bustin up a sweat trying to push a row of carts up a winding hill. This is the "old HEB" in new braunfels . It's a lot quicker to get in/out . Busy all the time. Best time to shop without so many people is 0700 or late at night. I've found HEB staff to be not very helpful. They are told to ask if you've found everything you wanted, if you say no they don't help you locate it!! What's the point of asking. Cashiers will ignore you and not say hello sometimes. What ever happened to customer service!! Remember this is the HEB everyone going to Schlitterbahn uses since it's right off the highway. read more

This place is known as the Ghetto B but in actuality probably offers what our Gucci B has. It's just older. It's an HEB so you know it is a wonderful grocery story. I do not go in Walmart Supercenter but maybe 2 times a year and that is 2 times too many. HEB is the place to be. Great produce. Fresh meats and seafood. Bakery and deli have many tasty things. I don't understand this store. It looks amazing but the parking lot is an absolute cluster. All of the curbside are right out front and the parking lot isn't accessible from the main entrance of the building. You have to walk down by the street to get into the front door. Additionally, there really isn't enough parking. Half of the lot is plowed up. I don't think I'll go back until they figure out a better parking solution. read more

Well I have to come back and post my experience since my last visit. HEB came through and provided my full order yesterday. And reassured my confidence in my HEB. I understand there will be times that the order we have placed might not be complete in it's entirety but just being honest about the products not being there and/or not being provided to on line orderes I would understand, but to have the product in the store and state out of stock, that would be a bad call and creat mistrust in on line orderes Either way yesterday wasn't the case and I guess they have corrected their mistake. It is Friday afternoon at 3:30. The store was full and there were four full cash registers open and five under 15 items. The lines were three and four people deep and there were two employees talking and carrying on behind us as we waited in line. They were too busy conversing about their social lives then to get behind a cash register and open more lanes. The one person was supposed to be guiding people to shorter lanes. There were no baggers and so my cashier had to also bag my groceries. I helped backs course. This took an additional 22 minutes to check out of line. I will not return and will make sure people know this is a substandard HEB. read more

I've been going to the Walnut HEB for six years. I really debated giving this location 3 stars based on the organic selection but I must say they have some of the best people working there. Ok, so the organic produce and foods can be slim picking there but it does carry the basic organic meat, dairy, veggies and fruit. I visit HEB no less than once week every week so I'd like to think I've developed some important relationships with the employees from the door greeter to the butcher. All of these folks have been so kind and responsive to my requests. I know New Braunfels has a new bigger and better HEB on Hwy 46 but I can't drive all the way over to Siberia. Besides, that's not my HEB, the OG HEB will always be My HEB! I love in the summer time you can buy a raspa right outside the door on your way back to your car. Or get gas or wash your car. read more

The Rotisserie chicken salad is ridiculous. HEB has the bast Jalapeno Kettle Chips. The Dr.B is actually as good as Dr.Pepper but if you get the Dr.B made with cane sugar instead its far better. The Sushi selection is pretty good and the quality is better than bonsai across the street. The customer service is great, when you ask for help they actually help. Most the time they walk me to what I'm looking for, At Walmart good luck finding anyone who knows where anything is. They opened the new location on the loop so some of the crowd has thinned but will be better once the the New Creekside location open. read more
