So disappointed in this HEB. Have always loved HEB but since moved near the one on Hwy 46 and Loop 337 -this one is horrible. Can buy hamburger meat on Thursday and it is brown by Friday morning-happened more than once. I have bought several items and when I get them home they are expired. They carry things one day and don't the next. Produce in bags get home and they are slimy (Organic HEB baby carrots) again happened more than once. Have started to go to Bulverde to that HEB. Much better but hate the drive. Wish they would build the one on FM 3009 SOON and make it a Plus. read more

I am a big fan of H-E-B and while this location is not one of the newer model stores, the service here stands out. I recently needed to pickup some holiday blooms and the in-store florist could not have been more friendly and helpful. I was able to modify an arrangement in the cooler to add some more holiday cheer and the end result was amazing. It had red roses, asiatic lilies, baby's breath, holiday berries, and more. I never order flowers from a web site-you really need to go in and talk with florists because they can tell you which flowers are fresh and give you ideas that you may not have considered about an arrangement. The H-E-B itself is great, but the pharmacy is extremely frustrating. I'm supposed to have a regular prescription of Tri-Linyah, but this pharmacy KEEPS giving me Tri-Estarylla. I have had a verified reaction to one of the inactive ingredients in Tri-Estarylla, and despite me telling them dozens and dozens of times that I cannot have this alternative, I still KEEP getting it. My H-E-B app medications list will send me an alert I have my "Tri-Linyah" ready, and when I get there, they give me Tri-Estarylla. This leads to me driving over, realizing they don't ACTUALLY have my medication, and then I have to waste time driving all over New Braunfels trying to get the actual medication I need. This issue has been unresolved for over a YEAR. I've talked to pharmacists, I've talked to staff, and it's STILLS HAPPENING. read more

I've been shopping here for almost two years, and I'm pretty happy with it. The staff that I interact with are usually pretty friendly, and any time I've had an issue, I can usually get it sorted out pretty quickly. I like to use the H-E-B app. It's good because you can select the store that you're shopping at, and then when you can't find an item you can use the app to tell you what aisle it's on. And also they have digital coupons and you can use the app for that instead of paper coupons, which they also have in the store for people without smart phones, I guess. Are there people who don't have smart phones? Anyway, definitely shop here if you like lower prices and saving money. And a generally friendly staff. read more

This is more a review of HEB and not this one particular store but this is the one I visited. I lived in Texas for decades before finally leaving a year ago. I have family that's worked for the company since the 1950s. They've always been an integral part of Texas life. They are, by far, one of the most well respected companies in the state. Rather than using that cache of well-deserved clout to do what is right and protect their customers from their own stupidly politicized COVID views they instead took the easy way out. No company-wide policy enforcing mask wearing for customers. No hiring of off-duty cops or security to toss the people who won't comply. Nope. Not even making it mandatory for their own employees who just love to accost you to see if you need help. Can't do any of that. Must follow the politics and not the science. Well, I guess, enjoy your omicron. I thought I'd always have at least one good thing to say about my birth state but not any more. You're dead to me, HEB. read more

It's just getting bad around here. The " reorganization " is making this store look like a dated Kroger. The opportunity for profit is huge here with all of the high end neighborhoods surrounding it. I'm really confused about what direction the higher ups at this HEB location are trying to go for. I guess all energy is being put into the alternate "tourist" HEB PLUS location on hwy 306. Not smart considering the future of this areas potential especially with growth forthcoming. Problem areas: Store appearance is dirty and dated looking More and more items are expired (like by several months) More and more out of stock items Less and less checkers and baggers Filthy surroundings- i.e. entry , carts janky etc.. When we first moved to New Braunfels, we loved this HEB. Later, the reorganized it a bit, and I still haven't got accustomed to it. They seem to prefer to stock when the store is busy, which is super convenient. High school kids seemingly push through with their airpods in. They get picked over pretty quickly, and you have to be careful of the produce you buy. They store their watermelons outside, and so far, we've picked up 4 that had spoiled in the heat. The pharmacy is nice, the staff are always helpful. We continue to go here for our groceries, but it could certainly use some improving. read more

This man needs some praise! I went to pick up my curbside to go order at HEB and there was a crisis with my order... no white claws left. This man goes into the store to grab comparable products and explains to me the positives of each and every one. Not all hero's wear capes. Because of Shane, I won't be thirsty tonight. This review is in regard to HEB brand Thick Cut bacon. I find most of the other H‑E‑B branded products to be of good quality. However the thick cut bacon is what I see as a knock off of Wright brand bacon. The H‑E‑B brand is higher in cost and to be quite honest is garbage. Overal H‑E‑B is awesome. The reason for the 3 stars is due to the florist Crystal. Very rude and not the best customer service. I had purchased balloons the day before and took them back to get helium in them. I have always done this. Today I was told that this is not allowed and she doesn't understand why I was doing it. This is the newer HEB in new braunfels. Much larger selection of seafood, butcher shop. There is HEB kitchen to encourage people to sample freshly cooked meal samples. They are delicious but you get sucked into pay $6.99 for spaghetti sauce if you are not careful. Parking lot is rather aggravating since you can only exit to a walnut or to loop 337. Locals call this HEB the Gucci B. (Old one is GhettoB). Silly people. This one is newer and like all HEBs offers competitive pricing, chances to get great coupons for free or discounted items, has a great seafood, deli, produce and meat department. The workers I have encouraged have always been friendly and helpful and quick to solve problems. Like most stores it will have crazy busy times but I think they do what they can to get you in and out as fast as they can. read more

In recent weeks, we've noticed the overall selection and quality at this store deteriorate. About a week ago, I was in the HEB on 46 selecting eggs and found many of them expired, with one package having actually expired in early October. When I asked one of the HEB associates about the large number of expired products in his section, he simply responded, "Well, that's what the warehouse sends us." I respect and appreciate the fact some people prefer not to buy organic and/or feel it is cost prohibitive. That being said, I purchase certain organic items, especially when it comes to produce and milk. We've seen this store switch from offering a reasonable amount of organic produce options to almost none...and what little they DO offer is marginal, at best. HOWEVER, if you go to the **NEW HEB** over on 306, they have a respectable amount of organic produce, and strangely enough, no expired eggs....hmmm. The expression "robbing Peter to pay Paul" comes to mind. Whether buying organic or generic, groceries are a necessary, but expensive part of everyone's budget. The HEB distributors in our area and/or local store management need to get their act together. Whether we like it or not, the population on our side of town is growing quickly. If our neighborhood HEB is unable to offer a selection comparable to the "brand new shiny one" on 306, they will soon find themselves obsolete or joining their sister store's status (on Walnut), as being another "ghetto HEB" in our city. read more

The store is great but we tried the HEB brand of ready to heat corn tortillas. Fixed the way they said in the directions. Was making enchiladas and got the tortillas cooked correctly but after I put them in the oven to melt the cheese the tortillas turned mushy. And they taste like old masa. Will NEVER buy this product again. We shop at this H-E-B several times a week and this is the first product that's not worth wasting money on. And the ones I didn't make into enchiladas turned hard as a rock within minutes of being heated. UGH! read more

Just drove through the parking lot and left without parking because there is an entire row blocked off for curbside delivery. I don't think so. If I am going to get out of my car and come into your store my parking should be more important then your curbside delivery parking. read more

Why are there never any baggers available? This is the second time I get caught behind a shopper with at least $250 worth of merchandise and the cashier had to bag everything. This last time, I noticed 3 employees standing around by the Register Queues talking about ordering tacos. Bag first. Then get your tacos, please. A young girl came by and bagged two items for the lady in front of me and then ran off when it was my turn.. The cashier jokingly thanked her for the help. It was very disappointing. read more

The cake we wanted to buy was there, but the lights were off and the cleaning crew were doing their thing.... and we were leaving for out of town for the birthday party early in the morning. This is the best HEB from New Braunfels to North Austin. Seriously. Great meat, produce, wine, and seafood selection. Just wish they carried more Abita options so I didn't have to stop by the liquor store on my way home. The clientele who shop here are my kind of people. Meaning, they've bathed, don't run around like heathens (That's you San Marcos HEBs), and aren't strolling slowly. They're getting in, getting what they need, and getting out. If you are a local, you already know everything I'm about to say. This is the "pinkies out" H-E-B in New Braunfels, meaning, you have to have your pinky out when you're walking around as to not offend the soccer mom's. That being said, it is a little closer to my house, and has a MUCH better selection than the "old" H-E-B. There is a reason this franchise has been growing, they provide the people what they want, at a reasonable price. Here's a few things this store has that the "old" H-E-B does not have: -fruit bar -demo table -tortillaria They obviously have much more selection for higher end groceries, so if you're hankering for some Kobe Hot Dogs, or maybe even dragon fruit, this is the grocery store in NB to find it. If I could just have a simple white cake and the words "Mr & Mrs" She wouldn't even take the time to look at me. Coming off a weekend on the river, I chose to take a scenic route around the backside of New Braunfels and then through town. I swung down and saw this new HEB and stopped. It was very spacious. It was a Sunday morning (around 9:15, i know why up so early after a weekend of river, sun, and beer) so it was near empty. The selection was huge. I wish I lived nearby so as to need some of the fresh produce or veggies. But I only stopped for water, aloe vera skin lotion (very burned) and 1 apple (macintosh, yum) for the drive back to H-town. I went to the store that opened recently in Houston at Dunlevy and Alabama, they are similar, but this one in New Braunfels was more spacious and the aisles just seemed bigger and more comfortable. read more
