I love H-E-B and think this supermarket is one of the perks of living in Houston. Whether shopping for produce, meats, seafood or just basic needs, I almost always find it at H-E-B. And when I'm having trouble I open their app and can locate the aisles and bins for that item. Years ago, we used to buy our meats at one store, produce at another and so forth. It got to the point where we were shopping at five different markets per week to stock our home. Now we find about 95% of our needs are covered at H-E-B. So I mentioned the app, you really should download this because it's a big store! I have not tried their curbside service yet but honestly I enjoy walking about stores and doing a little discretionary shopping. The check out lines are incredible. You would think a store this big would be trouble at the cashier but nope. The check out lines usually have a manager directing shoppers to the shortest lines and then each cashier is paired with a bagger. read more

Wait, I was impressed with this market. We don't have anything in California like this. Anything you could want they have. Pricing was reasonable, I like the bakery shop and they had a butcher shop. Their curbside pickup has gone downhill. We placed a curbside order but when we picked it up, half the items were missing. Normal items like apples, oranges, bananas, onions, cereal etc. We tried calling curbside pickup several times but either no one answered or they would hang up on us. We tried submitting an online request but have not received a reply. I called the main store number and asked to speak to the store manager but they transferred me to a number that did not answer or have a voicemail. I called the main number back to ask if the manager could call me back but no would would answer the phone. After waiting for 10 minutes for some to answer the phone, I hung up. Good variety of products IN STORE but curbside is a lottery. We have used it for months now and the quality is not reliable. We have gotten mushy veggies, bruised apples and just today they changed the organic oranges for HEB oranges and we got this totally mushy and spoiled orange that a child 2 years old would have noticed but the personal shopper probably decided to ignore and bagged it anyway. Take a look at this picture. Impossible to miss the appearance and not feel how unusually soft it was, so much that a finger run through it with no effort. I went to this HEB specifically for a Covid-19 second booster vaccine because there was no appointment available at the HEB in my hood. I also did a very light grocery shopping since I was there already. First, the pharmacy rated 5 stars. There was no line or waiting. I showed up at my appointed time and the friendly Pharmacy technician process my vaccine cards and insurance efficiently. After a wait of about 3 minutes, the very friendly pharmacist took me to a private room for the shot. Then she return my updated vaccine cards and receipt. Off I go to shopping after saying goodbye. The store was much bigger than my neighborhood store, but everything were well organized and clean. All the employees were nice. My only complaint was heavy unattended stocking carts were blocking some of the shelves making it difficult or impossible to get some of the products. This store is too far away for weekly shopping, so Mrs and I will stick with the smaller store in our hood. read more

Some of the people that work at this HEB location are just damned rude. There's a guy that works behind the meat counter, short older white guy, that is just downright rude. Not just to the customers but to his own work colleagues too. Watching the way he treats people whilst standing there waiting to get served is something else. We started going to the meat counter at Whole Foods the other side of 99. People there are courteous and professional, their kebabs and salmon burgers are virtually the same cost and taste a lot better. Some of the product pricing is a flat lie too. I saw one item that was priced at $4.99. The next week it went up to $8.99 and said it was previously $9.99. That's an absolute lie. Honestly prefer to go to Wal-Mart's grocery down the road. We only come here for some of the ready meals now. For the rest we go to Wal-Mart. read more

Long story short morning of the party, I am picking up the cake and it is the saddest little cake I have ever seen. I almost left with it but thought no way am I paying $60 for a cake I am not happy with! So glad I said something. Richard the bakery manager was so accommodating! Great customer service skills. He asked how he could make it right, I told him I wanted a new cake and decided to just go with a sheet cake this time. He had it ready for me at 1pm, party was at 2pm. Through all the corona stuff HEB kept a sanitary and orderly environment through the whole time. I was impressed by how clean everything was. The line moved slowly but was still at a nice pace. Compared to Kroger, better variety, especially for meat and seafood. Prices seem a little higher. I do wish they had put their bbq place in here, it would have done very well considering bbq options in katy are weak. Layout is a little weird, not a clear start to end. One watch point, and one that i have now seen consistently at 3 different HEBs -- selling food that is past the expiration date and produce often goes bad faster than "normal". So, check dates before buying. It's not an awful pattern, but one that i've seen often enough and shouldn't be happening at stores of this caliber/price point. read more

Very poorly setup HEB. The craftsmanship and buildout is awful. Looks like they haven't even completed the design. The store layout is awful. The three entrances is just weird cause two of them are useless pretty much. Opening to cash registers and the other half into pharmacy. Who goes into any store and goes left......IE that's the start of the layout. Confusing and weird flow. Hopefully they will relay out the flow of the floor. No Decent bombers in the beer section. There's no sample bar like HEB or WholeFoods, CCR neighborhood families bring In tons of money a year and this store just feels like a basic entry level grocery store. I had a little issue with a purchase made a couple of days ago. Called the store, quickly found Mark to talk to, he was very helpful, cordial, accommodating, said he'd be there until 10, so I headed over--only live 5 blocks away. When I got inside I asked the first person with an HEB nametag to point me towards Mark. He was busy at that moment, so Jordan listened to my problem, took 30 seconds or so to agree to help. I love shopping at HEB but the customer service in the checkout lines are especially horrible. I work in customer service so I know what it's like to handle one customer after the other, but at least 3 times I've been to this location the cashiers have been very rude. When you're in line the cashiers will be talking to each other from many stations away with conversations consisting of their personal problems or their upcoming vacation. Again, I've worked in customer service for years and I understand, but as soon as a customer is waiting to be checked out then all convos should be stopped. Not the case here. Of course the cashiers ask the obligatory "how are you?", but after that they always talk over the customer and almost yell to their fellow cashiers and continue their conversations like the customer isn't even there. With today's visit to HEB, the woman cashier started off a bit rude, and when her bagger left his station to help another customer, she kept calling out to her fellow cashier (who was also checking a customer out) that she needed a bagger because she "only gets one check", and her cashier friend startled cackling. My cashier ended up bagging my groceries with such disdain and attitude. When her bagger finally came she kept rolling her eyes at him, even though from what I saw is that he was helping another customer. She slammed my last bag of food on the counter so that I could grab it. Honestly I was surprised she did that with my groceries, as if she was taking her frustration from him out on my bag. I've had so many experiences like this from this location it's a mess. read more

I want to thank one of the managers (Billy B) for recognizing that my toddler was giving me more than I could handle. He pulled my cart into the checkout line and personally loaded all my groceries onto the carousel. It was not necessary but greatly appreciated. I will join my wife as an exclusive HEB shopper. Horrible checkout delays. Customers had carts full of stuff this morning and only four checkout lanes open. The so-called "express lane" which supposedly is for people with 15 items or less had people with 20-28 items. The manager standing there should have opened up at least one more lane or at least helped the cashier with bagging. Poor service in my opinion. read more
