I love HEB and shop there wherever I go. The one in Fredericksburg is the worst managed store I have ever been in. Example: numerous employees milling around the store and I am at the deli counter wanting sliced meat number six in line. We waited while the one person working behind the counter, with a scowl on her face, waited on another H-E-B employee ordering numerous items. He works there and has all day to get his groceries. The staff here is amazing from Wine to makeup to seafood! Shout out to Matt Etse in the wine and beer section who knew HEB had a Somme on staff. Very helpful. I've come to this HEB all my life and someone finally made a memorable impression on me. Sterling, a cashier in the front, was and IS absolutely lovely. He has made it a point to be an undeniable darling each and every time I have been checked out in his line. Life is about the little things and the people who make big, Texas-sized impressions and he's done such each and every time I've seen him. We're into organic food as much as possible and they have a lot of it here, with more coming all the time. The wine and beer section has a great selection and the manager is very knowledgeable and helpful in trying to find things you want that they don't ordinarily stock. The Beer Diaries show has got me looking for a lot of Austin's craft beers and HEB does its best to get them out here. We've shopped in several small-town HEBs in the hill country and Fbg's is by far number one in terms of finding what we want and need... read more

I went in the store tonight to grab a few things around 9:30. I went to check out and u went to the shortest line Express lane there we three girls he was waiting on with 3 things he was trying to impress them. The next lady that checked out he was flexing and looking and laughing at friends. When I got up to the register he was not paying attention he said hey scanned a few of mine things I had about 12 things as I give him a 50 he started talking to friends and I just stood there kept trying to remember what my change was instead if looking at register. He bagged a few of things and left 2 drinks and chocolate cake out and said have a wowza day as I walked off he lollered at me and said you forgot your cake had it upside down and the icing fell off it was a single piece. I grabbed the drinks and cake and walked.off and he proceeded to laugh about with the young girl behind me. I was so embarrassed for the store to have someone like that working there. I believe his name was Stephen I did see the first for letters in name tag step. I love the store but I was outraged with the employee that acted like a immature 5 year old. read more

Considering the size of this town H.E.B. supermarket has great assortment of products at a great price. It is a fun place to shop and the hours of operation are fantastic. We just moved from Vermont and the businesses there should learn from this one. read more

By far the best place to grocery shop in Fredericksburg. They have a large selection of organic produce and also stock a lot of Central Market products. You can even get authentic Bulgarian yogurt here (no bulgarian feta yet though). And the checkout people don't even look at you funny (or get mad, like the Walmart checkers) when you bring your own shopping bags or don't use the plastic produce bags. I can't tell if the prices are different than at the other stores in town, but for how much I enjoy shopping here it's worth it. read more

One of the better HEB's i've been to. The people who work here are actually friendly and ask if you need help. I like getting the bacon wrapped jalepenos, which they're usually out of. But the butcher always volunteers to make more. This HEB makes the one in Uvalde look like a Super S. read more

HEB grocery stores are the best! They sell great "meal deals" at a cheap price, but not of cheap quality. You can find an assortment of multicultural foods in most of the isles throughout the store. The HEB brands and foods that they make, are much better than the brand names, and cost cheaper. The employees are nice and helpful too. An added bonus! No other grocery store's can compete with HEB's excellence, and that's why it's rare to see any other grocery stores, other than HEB, in Southern Texas. read more

Im sure if this wasn't, now, the only choice besides Wal-mart in town to get groceries, this HEB wouldn't have such a great review. Ive been to so many HEBs around Texas, I couldn't even count but this one, sad to say, is probably the worst one Ive been to. HEB really is a great place to find a lot of variety and this one isn't an exception but its definitely not up to scratch to what you should expect. Its very clear that the employees take little to no pride in what they do or where they work. You can see it in the constantly moldy, nat-ridden oranges (its summer, theres no excuse for that), the messy unorganized shelves and the lack of personable service. If you don't know your cashier on a personal level, your lucky to get a "hello" and the baggers are obviously not trained properly since I constantly get items bagged together that shouldn't be (raw meats with cooked meat or fresh vegetables). Which, when I was a bagger, that was the FIRST thing we learned. Also, Im getting really sick of having to go back to customer service to get a refund on bread because it got smashed because the bagger put it in with a large thing of juice. I think the reason I REALLY hate going there though is because, since they remodeled and moved stuff around, the aisles are so close together and certain things are placed in such strange, random places, it takes forever just to find a few items. Not to mention pushing your way through the zombies that like to stop and chat with each other while blocking an entire aisle while they pretend no ones standing there waiting. All well, its not like theres a choice in grocery stores like there is practically everywhere else on earth so I guess complaining is pointless and its obvious they know that. read more

Best place, I like this more than Walmart because you can find some good quality things at affordable prices.
