I kept trying to show up early ,but this spot doesn't open till 10am sadly. I had heard I needed to visit and I finally made it during lunch. This shop has all types of local jams, butters and concoctions along with you guessed it....beautiful baskets and hand crafted accessories. I ended up with some local honey (great for battling the local allergens I hear) and some peach pecan syrup. I also enjoyed the jewelry and crystal area. I spotted many gorgeous gem stone rings that I will have to come back for soon. I was ecstatic to see they had some options in my petite size. The employee who helped me was very kind and informative. Overall, this spot has healthy options and good vibes, and that's what I'm all about. read more

I purchased product from their "online store" Feb 21, 2026. It is now March 15, 2026 and I am left to assume that it is not managed by anyone. I have not received my products, nor received any communication other than an automated email letting me know they took my money. Tracking shows product has not been sent. We stopped here hoping to find fresh peaches and other items we saw in past reviews. No fresh items at all. There was some cute jar items and lotions that are made in Fredericksburg and tons of purses made in Africa. The owner was super nice. This review is strictly of the coffee. I did not look around or purchase anything else. I needed coffee!! I originally was brought to this area because of the local roaster next door, but he was out of town and the store was closed. I walked into The Peach Basket and asked for coffee. They had a whole wall of locally roasted coffee in the back of the store. They also had free coffee. I wasn't expecting much from free coffee, but it was very good! I was impressed. When checking out, I mentioned how good the coffee was and the lady told me that the person that makes coffee, cold brews the coffee then heats it up to serve as hot coffee. I am an amateur coffee snob, I do some research and have a blog on coffee brewing. I love cold brew! I would've never thought to cold brew coffee then heat it up. Anyways, it was great! Later that week I made myself a cup of coffee with the beans I bought here. Next to my favorite coffee brand, Black Rifle Coffee, this is now my second favorite!! read more

This is the place in Fredericksburg to get your coconut water, organic goods, gluten free snacks, locally grown vegetables, quality dog food/treats and natural homeopathic treatments. Some goodies I have purchased are KeVita sparkling probiotic mango coconut drink, Bragg organic apple cider vinegar, Virgil's Root Beer sweetened with stevia, Panda all natural licorice and for the pup Stella & Chewy's raw treats. Prices are a bit steep but that comes with the territory of organic goods and specialty foods. The staff was very friendly and they let me bring the pup inside while I shopped. read more

So very sad about this place! I would always go here when I visit the area and used to spend $300.00 to $400.00 each time. I found so many wonderful things. My favorite part was the delicious and FREE cup of coffee, right up front when you walked in which always inspired me to visit and keep returning. Now almost all of what I loved is GONE. Wow. No more fresh produce, barely any prepared packaged healthy goodies to go, no more free coffee, half the vitamins they used to sell...I don't like the new setup of the store either. Too many useless tourist-y items taking up a whole big section. The warm, cozy, home-y feeling this store used to have is gone. The Peach Basket used to be the perfect little healthy market which was rare to find. Now I guess I'll just be going to Natural Grocers. It's a sad day. Only thing going for it, is that its right on Main Street. That's it. The sign on the front of the building claims they have produce. There was NO produce to be found anywhere! And believe me, I looked. They had pretty typical natural and organic items, but not a very good selection. I couldn't find very commonly used staples. Not to mention they were way overpriced...I paid nearly $8 for a 1/2 gallon of milk. I didn't look at prices until I got home and looked at my receipt when I got home. Ouch! At my normal organic grocery store I pay at least half that! They had an ok selection of supplements and body care items, but when I asked an employee to help me find something, she looked around for it for way too long and eventually I was the one that found it. For such a small store and selection, she should have known exactly where it was. When I walked toward the back, where it looked like there might be a deli or coffee bar, an employee nearly ran into me as he turned the corner, while on his cell phone texting. He didn't try to hide it, apologize or ask if I was finding what I needed. The employees just don't seem to care. What was in the back of the store where a deli or coffee bar might be, just seemed to deteriorate into an unpurposed space. I couldn't tell what was going on. Was I walking into the store's receiving backroom? Was there a coffee bar or a smoothie bar as I had been told at one time? No. I couldn't make sense of the space, so I turned back around. The same employee that nearly ran me over checked me out. No pleasantries, just told me that I was unloading my groceries onto the wrong side of the counter. He didn't help me move my groceries, I was the one that had to do it. So yeah, pretty unimpressed. read more

Don't depend on this place for lunch. Flavorless kale salad with bottled dressing and expired Siggi's yoghurt is all you're going to find. Lovey and I had hoped to pick up a nice natural foods lunch here on the way from Austin to Marfa. We spent $30 on food so bad, we had to eat crackers all the way to Alpine. Additionally, and maybe beside the point, no one who shops here knows how to form a line. We had to wait 30 minutes to purchase inedible food while local after local rushed in front to the register. I used to really like this store despite the somewhat lackadaisical service. The cashiers often seem to be in another world. But that was part of the fun of shopping there. Then they discontinued their prepared salads and sandwiches. I'm sorry they did because they were really wonderful and delicious. Then they discontinued selling fresh organic fruit and vegetables. I really miss that too. it was one of the only places in Fredericksburg that carried them. Now it seems all they have are vitamins and food supplements and a huge selection of kombucha. . read more

There is a health food store in Fredericksburg! Hallelujah! Not gonna lie, I definitely thought this was a smelly-good, overpriced candle, knick-knack store when I saw the sign... and name. Boy, am I glad I'm wrong. I found my beloved coconut waters and natural protein bars and so much more. Yes, the cashiers stare at you as you shop. But that is my own fault since I am Asian (insert sarcastic expression here). WHO CARES!? I'm not in Fredericksburg to visit a natural food shop. I'm here for wine tastings and the small town feel. I don't compare this to larger cities because that's not fair. I take it for what it is. If you don't want German food, pretend Chinese food, German food, Italian food, fast food, or more German food, you will be happy to find that you can find real wholesome nutrition here. I take this place as a fun snack-type store. I wouldn't necessarily get meals here. In my experience, small town health stores are not well-versed in the high maintenance-ness of making healthy foods not bland. read more

Whoa. I was astounded by the selection of natural products this store carries, albeit they were mostly all overpriced. But this store has everything you could ever want from a health food store. We found flax seed oil REFRIGERATED, which is how you're supposed to keep it but many stores do not. There's no way in the world you'll want to skip a visit to the Peach Basket while you're visiting Fredericksburg! This clean, well-lit, well stocked shop is filled end to end with the latest and most popular and sought out natural health items. I found a great selection of soaps, beauty products, supplements, food products...I can't say enough about the varieties. The prices are what you would expect from such a place, they're not like your visit to the dollar store; but hey, that would be weird and almost scary now wouldn't it? lol If you should need assistance or have questions about any product in the shop, you will be promptly helped by any of the friendly staff. Why only 5 stars ? Shucks I truly wanted to give 10 Stars . Again I can call earlier and have my husband pick up items later . At first the prices scared my husband but I had to explain to him that when you are getting superior vitamins, mineral, carrier oils , extracts and foods without tons of nasty additives, fillers and you can even get pure extracts . He finally understood and really is thankful we have the Peach Basket. He also remembered numerous online shopping disasters that made him thankful . What makes the Peach Basket a successful business in this town? Organic and local organic produce and meats. Fresh baked goods ( some gluten free), their popular "grab and go" lunch take out, a full range of homeopathic product, monthly seminars...This list could go on. Employees are downright friendly, the old building and wood floors don't hurt either. If they don't have it they'll do their best to get it. For me it's great alternative to supermarket shopping. read more

This is a good country store - here's why: 1) Holistic options abound! 2) loose teas and incense 3) large organics selection for such modest square footage 4) local, not a chain shop, in keeping with the Fredericksburg angle 5) open 30min later than the last shops close (6:30pm) 6) great supplements, teas, bath products (excellent aromatherapy selection) There are a dozen or so varieties of loose teas, and you can make yourself complimentary tea as a customer here. I'm sorry to have to mitigate my enthusiasm for this store. We shop here often and try to support them as much as possible in their struggle to compete with supermarket chains. Lately they have slid a bit. They've cut back on some things we count on and, despite our spending a lot in the store, they would not do a special order for us. I get it. Just not worth it to stock something that doesn't turn over that much. Perhaps if we ordered in case lots... Of greater concern, however, are our purchases of 'organic' produce. I now feel we have to make sure what they say is organic is really organic. The numbers on stickers, e.g., for apples, need to start with a '9'. This code indicates they are organic. But recently we found apples for sale under a sign that said 'organic' had stickers on them with numbers starting with a '4', which means conventionally grown. That is, with pesticides. Apples that aren't organic are one of the worst things you can eat. You can google and find apples on a list with other fruits and vegetables that should never be eaten unless they're organic. You are what you eat. We will continue to support this store. But since we care so much about what we put into our bodies, we will have to be much more careful when shopping here in the future. read more

I purchased tamari roasted sunflowers seeds from the dispenser at the store entrance, and packaged walnuts when we stopped by the Peach Basket 6/30/12. The sunflowers seeds were rancid and had to be discarded; the walnuts were not fresh, but usable. A very disappointing experience; I live two hours away, so returning the rancid seeds was not an option. I also purchased dried veggie snacks which were ok. read more
