Great service. Fresh produce. Clean stores. Regardless of where we are, my family always picks HEB over other grocery stores.

Not sure if things have changed since last review, but the store was very clean and food was well…read morepresented. I mean it wasn't as flash as a big town HEB or anything, but I liked it better than the local HEB and Walmart just up the road. If you've had a bad experience in the past, this out of towner says give it another shot :)

This place is disgusting. If you are from Columbus, you know what I am talking about. The store…read morestinks like mold, it is very outdated, and often dirty. The employees are extremely unhappy due to lack of good pay and poor management. The management does not care about customers or their employees. The produce section always has rotten fruits and vegetables on the display, which is extremely unappetizing. The mean section as pieces of green chicken, yes green! Not to mention, it smells horrible....probably a bunch of spoiled meat not kept at the right temperatures. The bakery deli is probably what keeps the store running....since H.E.B. doesn't have one. If H.E.B. opens up a bakery deli I wouldn't be surprised if this place shut down completely. The bakery food is good, but depends on what time you go. One of the workers there named "Guy" is horrible. He is unfriendly to customers and employees alike. You can tell that he is full of himself. The crazy thing is that all of the merchandise here is overpriced compared to their clean, friendly competitor H.E.B. If you are going grocery shopping in Columbus, do yourself a favor and go to H.E.B. instead. This place is dirty, overpriced, and terrible. I am surprised that Brookshire Brothers allows one of their stores to run this way because the one in Halletsville, TX is actually decent.

Well, it's better than Bastrop. But you can't even get sliced cheese from the deli at 10:15 am…read more HEB needs competition in these parts!!! Two stars for the ability to park AND get a cart in under an hour. Bastrop HEB really has set the bar low on those requirements. I guess we're back to driving 3 hours round trip for grocery shopping in Georgetown... where they have competition, multiple stores, and I've never been told, "Sorry. We're cleaning the machine. After being open for FOUR hours? Either you need to have two machines in rotation or... do this before/after the deli opens. Shocker to get prepared for the day BEFORE the day starts.

I have been to a lot of different grocery stores in my time, and HEB is one that seems to be a…read moredecent one. I went to the one in La Grange, as it was pretty much the only true grocery store in the area (yeah, there is that other one attached to a big box store down the road, but it just isn't the same). Normally grocery stores have a certain layout, and while this store held somewhat true to that typical layout, the one thing it did not have was the standard dimensions. In this store the aisles are relatively short, but there are a bunch of them, which means that finding the right aisle for an item can be a bit tougher because of the way things are distributed through the store. You still have your various sections, like your meat department and your produce, though the deli was in a very odd spot at the front of the store with the access to it pointed away from the entrance to the store. I had to walk the whole way around the store before I was able to find the deli! The store is clean and decently lit, so finding what you need isn't a problem. Variety seemed to be there to some extent, though the deli didn't have any fried chicken which seemed odd to me... baked whole chickens, sure, but no deep fried chicken. Anyway, if you are looking for a grocery store in La Grange, I would say HEB is the place to go, and bypass that big box store down the road.
