However, my GPS was taking me down the back roads, where there were no street lights. It is times like these that you have visions of the Texas Chain Saw Massacre or being abducted or worse. What if I got a flat tire? What if my car stopped running? I tried to remain calm during this heavily dark morning. Fortunately, nothing bad happened. Alas, I saw existence of life...Snappy's Market. I went in primarily to see if they could give me some human directions v car-made ones. The gentlemen on duty was super helpful and indicated I was very close to getting onto the main thoroughfare. He even walked me outside and pointed me in the right direction. I felt compelled to buy something since he was so helpful, but did not have an appetite that early in the morning. Not a huge issue, but something to keep in mind. Charging speed was decent, but if you're traveling with a pet, options are limited. The nearest restaurant, Los Cabos Mexican, doesn't have a dog-friendly patio, so we ended up grabbing food from McDonald's and eating in the car. It would be great to have a sitting area near the chargers or a pet-friendly spot. Glad there's a charging stop in the area, but knowing the limited options, I might hold out for the next set of Superchargers next time.

What brought us here? Lighting! The drive from San Antonio to Houston and vice versa is so boring and at night time pretty creepy. God forbid anybody ever getting stuck on the side of the road on the way to and fro. Anyways like two bugs attracted to bright lights we made it in here to check around the car and to use the facilities. The personnel here were neither friendly nor rude. The restrooms like most that you will find at any gas station smelled like somebody smacked your face with a baby's 4 hour held urinated diaper as well as that gastly smell like using one of those blue portable outhouses, but hey, it's a typical gas station restroom. Nothing really much to write about here except thank you Highway 71 Shell for the bright lighting that reminded us that there is civilization around here.

Bathrooms were OK and staff was very nice. Traffic was really bad and I needed to get some coffee to keep me going for more hours than I had planned. The coffee, just the non-fancy, plain, was quite weak but did taste good.
