One of the great things I love about HEB Curbside is that I can plan my weekly meals and add to my HEB Curbside list the items I will need. That, and the fact that I can take my dog with me to pick them up, her favorite thing to do, in my PJs. The selections are pretty good at HEB; sufficient. Smaller than anticipated Organic selection that is more pricey than expected for such a huge, Texas-based market. Every Saturday I fill up at this location. They are regularly one of the cheapest gas per gallon in town. It is kept clean and the pumps are new. Can't tell you about their customer service as I pay at the pump with a credit card. What I DON't like is the 20 questions they have you answer at the pump. PUMP: Is this Debt or Credit? ME: Okay, this question is legit PUMP: What is your zip code ME: None of your business, but to go on, you must type it in. They say it is to verify that it's your credit card. BULL! It is to collect data on where your customers are from. PUMP: Car Wash? ME: NO, dammit, I came to get gas PUMP: Mother's maiden name? ME: WHAT! I call her mom. I have to give a big shout-out to H-E-B on how they are handling the Corona Virus. People have raided their shelves, stripped nearly everything they can put in a cart and left nothing for people just needing a few items. I could comment on the greed and total disregard for others. Instead, I will say what a great job HEB has done trying to keep the shelves stocked. I am certain they are putting in incredible hours to stock the store at night. Getting all the groceries scheduled and delivered has to be a nightmare. I can't imagine how many rude customers they had had to deal with. Outstanding job guys!! I live in a larger city in Texas and NEVER have I received such dirty looks and the most unwelcoming employees than I received at this HEB. How embarrassing! I asked an employee to help reach something and even waited while he finished a conversation with another employee and he looked irritated when I asked for help! While I was checking out, I was hardly off the red square when the cashier told me if I could "PLEASE" step back, but did not say one word to the customer behind me. Yes the verbiage wasn't rude but it definitely was the tone that was used! I work in customer service and it should matter how young or how someone looks, you should always treat EVERYONE with respect. I will never use this pharmacy again! I've picked up prescriptions for my mom a few times and it NEVER goes smoothly. Today I had to get RX for myself. It was called in yesterday but still wasn't ready, drove through to pick up about 30 minutes after they said it wasn't ready yet and KAITLIN F was the cashier. She took her sweet time AND doesn't know how to count, I had to give her an extra dollar to get my RX because she miscounted the nine ones I gave her. Obviously it's the principal and not the dollar. I am an arborist and have worked storm damage cleanup. I'm exhausted and all I wanted was to pick up dinner. I didn't have many items and I usually self check out. I was so tired I decided to get in Ethan's line. I placed my basket on the conveyor belt. Ethan looked up from scanning the young ladies groceries in front of me and proceeded to tell me, "I need you to empty that basket!" I was shocked! I began to empty it and felt like a child that had been scolded. I put my things back in the basket and went to self checkout. Valerie was super sweet and helpful. Ethan must have had a day, but I have worked 60 hours this week and I do not think reaching in a hand held basket to take approximately 8 items would have killed him. read more

I'm surprised at the low reviews. this store has everythin! Good layout, stocked Organic produce, lots of Keto, Paleo, and Mediterranean selection in addition to the regular stuff. it's a smaller store so you can get in and out if you want instead of walking all over the place for one or two things. people are friendly and helpful, and you can request persona favorites and they will get them if they can. for a Neighbor store they have so much it's really surprising! This is my favorite HEB. The other HEB stores are so large and busy that I tend to avoid them. I don't want to go to a Costco sized grocery store 1-2 times a week just to buy food. They have a nice selection and the produce and meat have been very fresh. I love the fresh tortillas and tortilla chips. It's like the smaller grocery stores I grew up with. read more

Sat in the curbside spot for 35 mins to find out they forgot about me there and that all items were out of stock.

We had an interesting experience with one of their grocery employees Jerry Fowler. Just say he is not a very helpful employee and glad the service manager was there to fix his attitude. This store is one of the older stores. It is small and on the dirty side. Because the size of the store the check stands back almost up to the grocery aisles ie lines back up into the grocery aisles at peak times and you can not move around. The HEB in Leander is the better store. Better service and same pricing. read more

This HEB had the best selection out of all I have been to. Good choices of meat, always great deals on bacon. The healthy living isle is also great. The reason for the four start review rather than a five.... they seriously need to teach the baggers how to bag the groceries. Toothpaste doesn't go in the same bag as meats. Candles do not go with canned goods. This has been a ongoing issue with the bagging. I would rather bag my own stuff then let one of them do it. My very first job was bagging groceries and I was trained for three days on how to bag groceries. It's the most important job in the whole store. It is the last memory the customer has of the location. Train them better! read more

I'm just gonna get this outta the way right now because this aggression will not stand.. This newish store is my favorite around Austin. Right next to my work. Big enough to have everything you need, but not so big that you put off getting an item because it's all the way on the other side of the store. It's set up in a sort of circular fashion, with their offices in the middle of it all. This can be a bit inconvenient if you need to pick up one thing on the opposite side of the offices, but it also sends you though the store in a way to remind you of stuff you need. I know they just want you to buy more, but it helps forgetful people like me that don't make grocery lists. They have lots of Central Market-style high end foods. An *awesome* beer selection, although the wine is a bit lacking.. The produce has always been great. The bananas are always the perfect ripeness. My favorite part? The feature that makes my day? The little express, 10-items or less checkout. It's *right* by the door, and is usually staffed by a very nice lady. She gives me that friendly little market feel in a big ol' HEB. read more

I give the 5-star for HEB's in general (or as I like to pronounce it: Heeb). As I lived in Dallas for about 4 years - I REALLY missed HEB's. You don't know what you have until it's gone. I have truly compared HEB with various chain grocery stores...NONE of which compare to HEB. First of all, the prices are superb compared to other grocery stores. Second, the variety. And that is mainly with natural & organic products. I have never seen any other grocery store have their own all-natural or organic house-brands (which are normally less expensive) except for Whole Foods. By far, HEB is more cost effective, versus Whole Foods. The vitamins/supplements/bulk food areas are nicely stocked - however, this location doesnt have as big of an area for that as other HEB locations. Can I give a shout-out for the Mootopia!!? *Woot Woot!* This alone makes me want to go to HEB. NO OTHER grocery store has anything even remotely close to this milk. And speaking as a health-nut, the components of this milk are superb in every way! I must say I also love their individually vacuum-packed chicken breasts (in the box) in the freezer section. Being as I don't cook for a big family, it is nice to be able to open up an all-natural piece of chicken, one at a time. I like that this location also has the HEB gas station out front too...affordable gas & convenient! read more

Ah, Spring, when an aging man's fancy turns to gardening. My beds are tilled, the compost's been mixed in. The radish and green onions are a-sprouting. I've planted various types of herb seedlings parsley, sage, rosemary and oregano basil, lemon grass, thyme and now two mints. But still I had not found some epazote a Mexican herb that you can put in beans that in many a previous garden I've had growing. Neither in the form of seed or seedling in all the nearby nurseries I had been was I able to find my epazote. And then I went to do some grocery shopping at my H.E.B. on 1431. Oh how surprising, it was almost shocking for there I found my precious epazote in a little pot, a healthy little plant just sitting there and costing almost nothing. read more

The people on the floor are pretty helpful. The guy in the meat market who is probably in his 50's. The young guy, who is kind of tall, in the dairy section. It is the customer service desk that could be a little easier to deal with. I always feel like I'm not allowed to return items or ask for a price adjustment when I have to go back. I have caught a couple people in pharmacy who have been a little testy to deal with. Thank goodness it was the customer in front of me and not actually me. It is almost embarrassing. No matter which HEB I buy from, I try to avoid the cheap cuts of meat due to the amount of gristle and I try to avoid the peaches. 90% of the time, they have no juice. Absolutely flavorless. I have been going there since I was a toddler. I see the commercials about freshness. I just don't believe it. The produce is far from ripe. More local produce please. Great selection...great prices....great service. This HEB is bright, clean and large. There is a decent selection of organic/natural produce, meats, dairy, and other packaged items. My sister from North Carolina commented on how cheap our produce prices are. Gracias Mexico! I love steaks and they have great prime steaks. When they go on sale, the price and quality are much better than Costco. I also love the meal deals, which usually involves buying the meat and getting the drinks and sides for free. Usually, the free items are HEB brands. I also like that the coupons are right in front of the items. The HEB generics are OK. I a side by side blind tasting of a variety of products, the name brand products always taste better to me. But if you are on a budget, the HEB products are very good for the price. The service here is friendly and efficient even though most of the employees are teenagers. The manager here really knows what he's doing. read more

NEVER been disappointed in an HEB - EVER - until now. Paid $40 for deli wing tray for a special occasion - thinking the tray would be hot and ready to serve when I picked it up. Waited almost 30 minutes to get it at the deli - only to discover when I got home that I had three bags of FROZEN wings, a tray to serve them on, and a container of ranch dressing. Suffice it to say, the party started later than anticipated! On a brighter note - fruit and veggie trays and desserts were fresh and affordably priced. I like the small town feel of this HEB. It's not as large or well stocked as some of the surrounding HEB's, but I just like the feel of it. They usually have everything I need, and the meat department usually has some good deals. The parking lot is a bit small and it gets crowded at times, partially due to the surrounding businesses. It is an older HEB and produce and bakery sections are a little limited. My favorite thing about this HEB is their fried chicken. It is by far the best fried chicken I've had from a grocery store. Great for snacking. It even gives some of the restaurant fried chicken a run for their money. read more

Oh, HEB, I want to give you all five stars but your dingy location and smallish store limit me a bit. You have some major gems, however. At first you may not notice, but behind the sushi counter is the Secret Garden of Asian cooking. Seriously. Dried shrimp, tamarind paste, sauces galore... it's a real find for the Cedar Park foodies (and btw, I don't like the word foodies, but you all understand, right?). Then there's the cashier, Johnnie. I am from Way Up North and this woman embodies who I think of as a Sweet Southern Lady. No matter how long the line, if she is working I am there. Besides being an efficient, competent cashier (and yeah, that can be hard to find these days), Johnnie is so complimentary and often says in her sweet drawl "thank you, angel." Sometimes you get a little annoyed with crowded aisles on the weekend but Johnnie ends your shopping experience with the utmost grace. How can you beat that? read more

I've been going to this HEB since the mid 80s. They needed the remodel but I'm disappointed that they didn't do a better job of it. The store is a little bigger but not as nice as the HEB Plus in north Leander. I started going to that one during the remodel. Having gone back to this one a couple times since the remodel was finished I'm thinking I'm gonna stick with the one up north. At this one there is a lot of wasted space up towards the entrances and the floral selection is tiny. The cookie & muffin bar near the bakery is a cute idea but seems so unsanitary being so open where anyones hands can touch them, they can get coughed & sneezed on, or any dirt and dust from people walking by can land on them. As cute and yummy as they look there is no way in hell I buying something like that unless they are more encased. They didn't do much with the floors and the whole place feels more industrial and less inviting now. So why did I give this place 3 stars? Well, it's still an HEB and has great store brands equivalent to national brands at cheaper costs and you can't beat the store coupons, meal deals, and combo locos. read more

I hate to give a two-star review, but after shopping here for nearly 15 years, I've really pared down my visits to the store. 1) The produce is horrific. Poor variety and selection (and yes, I'm taking into account the size of the store), poor quality. Eat it now or compost it tomorrow. I've mentioned this to management. Zero craps given. 2) No regard for the customer when restocking shelves. Middle of the day, crap spewn about the aisle... Customers don't care for obstacle courses. Less when workers give customers the stink eye when the customer needs something. A little, "May I get something for you?" is appropriate given that the customer is probably standing behind you because they want something, but probably not your autograph. 3) Samples are for customers. Of course workers are going to snag a few - hey, they buy food too. But to put out a sample tray and the on duty staff swarm like locust, standing in front of the display and not letting others in is kinda obnoxious. read more

I used to work at this heb location and enjoyed it very much. Their store is well organized and stocked. My favourite thing is that they do not waste food, for example they sell an entire paper bag of slightly browned bananas for $1. The floral department at the HEB at 1431 & Bell Blvd (183) has a very rude hourly employee. This isn't the first time I have encountered him and his dismissive attitude. However, today, I was looking at the various Christmas plants. We both commented on how lovely the xmas cactus were. I asked him the price for a small rosemary plant. He commented he hadn't price them yet. And he kept on restocking the shelves!! NEVER offered to price one for me. Huh? Isn't the store in business to sell items? He acts like he could care less if you buy anything or not. I will not buy from the floral department at that store as long as I see him there. read more
