I wanted to give a shout out to the one of the team leads - Kacie - and the cake decorating folks of the bakery. What could've been an absolute disaster for my family ended up being really a wonderful experience and I can't rave enough about them. I ordered a cake on Thursday with a pick up date of Friday at 3 o'clock. When I showed up at seven on Friday, my cake was nowhere to be found and it turned out that one of the employees had mistakenly put my request in for Saturday. It would've been fine except for the fact that we had a cake smash photo session first thing in the morning for my son's first birthday. Kacie was not only able to get me exactly what I wanted first thing in the morning, she personally delivered the finished cake to my house so that I wouldn't be further inconvenienced. Truth be told I wouldn't necessarily do a review of a grocery store. However, HEB Plus in Belton is an exception. I have been to several HEB's in the Temple-Belton-Killeen-Copperas Cove area and this is by far my favorite one. The customer service I receive is always superb. Unlike Walmart, I can always find someone to assist me in looking for an item. I think they have one of the best wine and cheese selections. I have been surprised on several occasions that they have some rare item I need for a recipe in the store. Because honestly who feels like driving to Austin to Whole Foods for a specialty item. Also, the Healthy Living aisle located near the pharmacy is top notch. You can purchase healthy nuts and grains by the bulk. Every Sat and Sun FREE samples almost on every aisle. Go in hungry and come out full. Sushi is sampled pretty much daily and it is fresh and very tasty. I knock off one star only because the HBC area is a little overpriced compared to Walmart. I would love to do one stop shopping. But the prices and lack of selection prevents this. read more

I absolutely love H-E-B, but they seriously need to address the inconsistencies with their curbside service. I have sent in surveys, made comments to both the staff and one manager with no acknowledgement or apology for the repeated issues I've had. 1. Items are frequently marked as unavailable/ out of stock but can be easily found in the store after picking up my order. 2. Items chosen as substitutions are in no way comparable and generally cost 2x+ the price of the original item selected. 3. When ordering meat or produce, they select the first item they find rather than actually weighing out the item or searching through the pre-packaged options for anything near the quantity / weight ordered. 4. When issues or questions are brought to the attention of the curbside staff they are either incapable of answering or flat out disregard that you are speaking to them. This may not be an issue for everyone, but prior to this I ordered thru instacart and NEVER had issues. If an item was out of stock they called me and asked how / if I wanted to replace it and they were actually concerned if an issue was found. And, when I stick to a budget for groceries every week it can be aggravating when the bill goes up $10-$15 due to poorly chosen substitutions. (Ironically the bill never goes down from the total on the original order...) Or, when I have to make a trip back to the store after discovering they didn't attempt to replace an item or just couldn't be bothered to find it. read more

I enjoy walking through HEB. From the time I park until the time I return to my car, the entire experience is a pleasure. The aisles are clearly marked, wide, and mostly well-stocked. The employees are helpful and will take you right to the product you're searching for. I don't live in Texas, so when I'm here I take advantage and make as many trips to HEB as I can. This is by far the best H‑E‑B store in the area and they have very friendly staff who go out of their way to help you. I have even had a store representative try and rode a specific item that I was not able to find in our area. The product is easily purchased in Austin as they have a lot of other stores that you can generally find the item in. The store is exceptionally clean and the staff is very friendly and they don't mind dropping whatever they are doing to assist you with any questions. I was extremely impressed with this store when it originally opened and I'm just as impressed with how they have kept the store in the cleanest and most convenient way for finding the items that other stores have made much harder to navigate. I always use this store for curbside pickup and on the occasion that I decide that I can go inside. I live with someone who has melanoma and the treatment he receives has made him immunocompromised, I have to be extremely careful as if I get sick, then he's going to get sick as well. They just have a lot more of everything that other stores only have a small amount of and this allows me to get in and out in a few minutes time. The garden department is very nice and helpful and it's outside of the store. It's almost like a Central Market in many ways than a H‑E‑B plus store. read more

I want to commend Alayna who works at this HEB. We are from Las Vegas and were in Texas for Thanksgiving week. When we went to do our holiday shopping, the store was out of my dad's favorite beer. Alayna was so wonderful. She took my cell number, text me when the beer came in the next day and even met me at the register with a case for purchase! We all know the holidays and family gatherings can be challenging. Alayna relieved a huge amount of the stress! Her customer service was above and beyond anything I've ever received from a grocery store. She's a keeper HEB! read more

One of the better H-E-B's I've been to. My husband and I just moved here from San Antonio and obviously H-E-B already has the best customer service. But yesterday I met an above and beyond employee. Lucas, who I can only assume was a supervisor (and if he's not he needs to be) helped me get a cart while I was holding a large cake and had a very pleasant conversation with him about our children growing up. It was such a great conversation and he went above and beyond like H-E-B always does. read more

This is usually a great HEB and the only one me and my wife go to. The last week or so they have not had 3 different types of wine that I've called and checked up on daily. You can't ask for more friendly and helpful staff. Their produce is very fresh, their meat is simply beautiful, and a deli where you have a selection second to none. Prices, Walmart won't save you money and their fruit goes bad almost overnight you're throwing away strawberries and tomatoes rotten on the shelf. H-E-B gets all our groceries. read more

I love this HEB so much. They have an incredible produce selection, delicious sushi, good meat options (even bison!), and friendly service. There is even an electronic section in case you want to purchase a TV to go along with your groceries. Also worth checking out: the bulk bins at the front of the store by the pharmacy. So happy that this HEB Plus opened!! Awesome selection of cheeses, baked goods, deli, etc. all of the staff is friendly and seem like they are happy to be at work. Another good thing is the gas prices--SO cheap!! $3.09 a gallon and it's $3.25 a gallon at Shell off of FM 93 and I35! I say drive the extra way and get your gas at HEB!! My only complaint, and it's a weak one lol, is that they stopped tying lollipops on the balloon strings for the kids. So be sure to have your kid hold it fit, or if he's anything like my kid who will let go of the string to point something out to me, bring something to tie the string to. read more

This is HEB is HUGE and has such a variety of everything. They have multiple taste testing which are so helpful when you want to buy something and want to taste it first. There bakery is amazing. Each dept has so much to offer. They have so much to offer and it is more roomy to walk around and not get hit or have to move for every single person. The ultimate reason they get a 5 star is because during this past holiday season as crowded as they were there were never any line there were so many cashiers open to serve it was GREAT!!! no waiting. I went in on thanksgiving eve for one thing i forgot and knew i was going to be in there forever and i was in and out in 6 minues a record for any thanksgiving ever! This HEB is definitely a pretty place to look at, but when it comes down to it, I am looking at the price and quality of the groceries my family and I need to survive on for 2 weeks at a time. That is a problem with most H-E-Bs, especially when located across from a Walmart. The prices here are higher than at Walmart across the street and though I am not certain whether or not H-E-B does online grocery ordering and pick up at the Belton location, I know for a fact that the Walmart across the street does, which is a real time saver when you have two young children that would otherwise make your shopping experience a complete nightmare. Like I said before, great to look at, but it's a grocery store and not an art museum. read more

After 3 years of living in Middle Tennessee, I could not wait to return to Texas mainly because I desperately missed H-E-B! Being new to Belton/Temple, I was pleased to discover Belton's H-E-B Plus. It's on a smaller scale than the H-E-B Plus I was familiar with in my hometown of Corpus Christi, but it has absolutely everything I need. I have encountered many friendly employees that have gone above and beyond to accommodate me. The produce and meat selection can not be beat! I've also been reacquainted with my favorites at the bakery. The beer/wine selection never disappoints. read more

This is my favourite HEB to shop at. It's nice and big and has a lot of selection. And they almost have sakes going on. I always like to go on the weekend for their food samples and to get new recipes. And the sushi is pretty decent. Not the best but good. The produce akway looks good and the staff usually smiles and starts up some good small talk. read more

Large, somewhat easy to get around. Produce is usually older and softer than other HEBs in the area. Meat section is also hit or miss, whether it's clean, or if it's stocked. read more

Love this store, perfect amount of toiletries and groceries with an of specialty items to fill my needs. The seafood counter will even stay in your crab legs if you need it, I just wished I had known that sooner. I love this HEB! The store near me is older and smaller. It's worth it to drive a little farther for this store. The selection in every department is vast. Cooking Connection is a feature I've never had in a store near me. It'll be fun to continue to explore all the items beyond just the food departments. read more

Love this HEB, parking is not great probably because it is so busy. Love the sections especially meat area you can usually find a great deal on a brisket or others meat. I usually end paying a little bit more than Walmart but if you keep on a lookout for the deals you can often save. The HEB+ section is not really big but you won't find Walmart level non food at most HEB's so it is a plus. Be prepared to park far and walk as this place os often very busy. read more

I have been too many HEB stores all over the state of Texas. The Belton HEB is just as wonderful as them all, I will add that the staff from the customer service to the clerks are super nice and helpful. AND...if you go at the right time they have lots of samples to try and a place where a chef makes meals and tells ya how, complete with recipes. LOVE IT. read more
