Ok now that is out of the way. Review time: I really love this location so much. The store is huge with wide aisles making it easy to navigate compared to the smaller stores. Even if it's crazy busy on a Sunday afternoon you can still get to the items you need with ease. The store is still very clean and of course modern since the rebuild. Employees are friendly. The shelves are stocked fully 99.999% of the time. I live extremely close to the East 7th Street store (5 min away) and opt for this location time and time again.

It's also no fault of the store but it's worth mentioning right in front of their doors seems to be a popular hangout for Austin's homeless. I don't think we managed a single visit here without being asked for change. If you need a quick snack they are in a great location, just don't expect an overly pleasant visit.

Hi, I usually shop at this location by myself and sometimes with family. Last night, however, was the first time I saw an employee by the name of Albert. He works in the seafood section of this location. Last night when I was there with my family, he seemed to be drawn to the child that was with me. And I did request he stop bothering her two times before he finally went about his business and left her alone. Two times it took him to stop. That's a problem. I didn't want to create a scene in the store due to his behavior and strange attraction to the child with me. Later, I was informed by her mother that this wasn't the first time Albert has attempted to talk to her daughter and that she tries to avoid that section when she sees Albert is there. When we went in that section last night, he was not there. But he appeared coming through the doors that are in that area. I don't like the fact that this guy is harassing my niece. This was the first I've ever seen the guy and the first I've witnessed him trying to talk to my niece, though it evidently isn't the first time he's tried talking to her according to her mother. And his persistence last night was very disturbing. I don't know why he even stopped doing what he was doing to approach my niece saying, "Hey baby girl..." Excuse me?! She don't know him nor do we. Why is he trying to talk to my niece (who is not even close to ten years old)?! This happened last night and I filed my complaint while it was still fresh in my mind and I woke up still pissed off. His behavior is unacceptable. How can I feel comfortable with any child I bring to this location without worrying about Albert coming out from the shadows to disturb our shopping just to talk to my niece? Why is Albert drawn to children and pushes to get their attention when they ignore him? This is extremely unacceptable and I will not tolerate it. We will not return to this location anymore. I don't care if I have to go all the way out to Round Rock to go grocery shopping. If it means keeping my niece safe from HEB employees like that, then I will do just that. So for all who have children and go to this location, be very cautious of an HEB employee named Albert that works in the seafood section. He is the only employee I've seen do this. He wears glasses, has dark hair and has a mustache (I think with gray hairs, but he does have a a thick mustache) and I believe he is Caucasian. But that I can't be sure. He could be mixed with Caucasian and something else. I don't know. But first glance, I'd say he's Caucasian under 6 feet tall. He wasn't that much taller than myself and I'm under 6 feet. He's probably in his 40-50s. I did send in my complaint to HEB and he might get fired but he'll still be in Austin & surrounding cities. Be careful. His behavior last night was so inappropriate and evidently wasn't the first time. He had no business bothering her at all. We were shopping for crying out loud! And when I found out it wasn't the first time he tried to talk to my niece, that really set me off! He scared my niece and he thought it was funny and never apologized for it. My sister has witnessed him talking to other children in the store while ignoring the adult with them. I don't know why he's so drawn to children, but I can't take my niece or any child there with him lurking (working) there waiting in the shadows for a child he wants to try to talk to. I had to request he stop bothering her TWO times. Why wasn't the first time enough? Then he tried to act like he didn't know what I was asking him to stop doing. The second time he said, "Don't do what? Talk to her?" Uh YES!!!! I did my best to not get loud in front of my niece. But if I had to tell him a third time to leave her alone, I would've started to yell at him. Why did he even stop what he was doing to get her attention when she was paying him no mind? Who does that? She's a little girl. Why is a grown man trying to get the attention of a little girl and keep on even as she continues to ignore him? Who in their right mind does that?! We don't even know him! That's not being friendly, instead that's being creepy. Be careful folks. Even if they fire him, he is still in the city. I witnessed his behavior with my own two eyes and even had to tell him TWICE to stop. Even when she moved closer to me trying to get further away from him and his exact words, "Oh you're going to run to your mommy?" I'm her aunt and only someone who knows us would know that. Be careful folks. As of now, he works at HEB in the seafood section at this particular location. His name is Albert. I don't know his last name. But you'll know him when see his mustache and dark hair and name tag. Again, I personally witnessed his behavior first hand and addressed him myself when I saw he wasn't leaving my niece alone. They have cameras in that section so I recommended HEB to watch the tape if by chance it was recording all activity that night. We won't be back at this location ever! read more

This store is crap ...the staff is rude, even going so far as verbally threaten their customer base. I have been shopping at this particular HEB since 2007, spent a ton of money in buying the necessary food items for my home, and the thanks I get is a bunch of lies about some bad behavior on my part then actually banning from the store. The store is small but the new layout works. For groceries, either of the other two HEBs nearby, at McNeil or at I35, are bigger and have wider selections. But this store is convenient and friendly, and will suffice for 9 of ten meals. The pharmacy is excellent - helpful, friendly, and concerned for the patient. read more

The food was good, flavorful and served hot. It was a good option near home, fast for the hungry, but I can see ordering to go in order to enjoy it at home!
