Not sure what was on the box from HEB...

This is my HEB I ha e been going here for around 4 years.. They have recently renovated the store which makes it looks more modern and fleet. Normally the store is well stoked with my favorites but as of late that hasn't been the case... The service or customer service is always on point........ Thenreason for the 1 star is because I bought a 10 pack Mini Dr Pepper, not noticing anything strange about the product when I put it into my basket .. When I got home and started to unload my groceries I felt something very sticky on my hand, well after getting into the house I noticed that the DR pepper had some foreign substance on the bottom, that went all across the bottom, as you can see in the picture.. I'm upset because it got unto my brand new white shirt and my car ba k seat...

It was disappointing to see that my order was cut using a dirty slicer. I guess I looked sturdy enough to successfully battle foodborne illness because the team member had every opportunity to not give me that. The manager was kind and said that my order was likely sliced using a slicer that previously cut pastrami, which isn't an excuse. Be advised to check your order before leaving the store.

Wow.... pardon all of the big inconveniences while we remodel! Shopping carts are across the drive and down one of the parking aisles. Way down one of the parking aisles. That would be a HUGE bummer in the rain. It wasn't helpful in the frigid temps I was specifically looking for the coffee aisle for filters.... and finally figured out after much walking that was the aisle which was in no way marked. There is nothing fluid about this HEB.... and extremely congested at the front. HEB....you can do a lot better... even when you're remodeling.

The small bird from H-E-B.

Has anyone else noticed how small the rotisserie chickens have gotten at H-E-B? I can understand supply chain issues but they should communicate it with customers and let us to decide if we want to purchase such a small bird. I'm a huge H-E-B fan, but I drive by Costco everyday and there birds have not shrunk in size.

It's my first time at this convenient location, I believe. I was passing through town and needed a few essentials. One was a bolillo roll. It kind of looks like a torpedo roll and it tasted fresh. The manager was very kind to ask the bakery lady (no name tag, too bad, she was so sweet) were there any single rolls left. HEB usually collects them at the end of the day and sells them in bags. She volunteered to open a bag just so that I could have one. I was kind of worried that they made accommodations for me, but they said they make a new product when the bulk bag is off count. But still, that was very nice of her. The manager also showed me where they're healthier living section is. I was impressed that they had the bulk self serve which I hadn't seen yet in the Austin area, and this is a small store compared to many I have been to. The advantage of a small store is you can shop faster. While I was there I picked up some herbs and treats. They tasted fresh, except the squares which looked like is a local favorite, because it is half gone in the dispenser. The cashier was very sweet and asked if I wanted a bag. I said yes thinking I'd get a regular shopping bag, but he gave me a nice reusable one. It will come in so handy later. I hope some day they will carry single boxed juices in grape flavor. I noticed that they did have a Glacier Water vending machine outside for 40 cent refills which isn't bad at all. Other than that, I think this is a nice store that is trying to become a better store. I will not hesitate to come back based on the service.

Cashier was so offensively rude, I really have no intention of shopping at this store again. There is no reason to put with that.

I should start by saying I hate grocery shopping with a fiery passion that can only be found in the pits of hell.

Apparently, not realizing this page already existed. Anyway, covering all my bases and doing a review here as well. Note: I've also suggested an edit for the duplicate businesses. Ok now that is out of the way. Review time: I really love this location so much. The store is huge with wide aisles making it easy to navigate compared to the smaller stores. Even if it's crazy busy on a Sunday afternoon you can still get to the items you need with ease. The store is still very clean and of course modern since the rebuild. Employees are friendly. The shelves are stocked fully 99.999% of the time. I live extremely close to the East 7th Street store (5 min away) and opt for this location time and time again.

I love that they have a parking garage so if it's pouring down with rain, one doesn't get drenched trying to get one's vehicle with a basket load of groceries. On the ground floor, there is True Texas BBQ with ample seating. One can take the elevator or escalater up to the second floor to the supermarket. On the escalater, there is one side for you and the other side for your trolly of groceries. I have abandoned my neighborhood HEB and now patronize this one at 2400 S. Congress Ave.

I live nearby and I go here every few days. The place suffers a bit from being downtown (higher…read moreprices and unkempt people outside) but on the whole they do fairly well. Contrary to another review, they usually have fresh fruit on hand; bananas in a basket and prepared fruit cups. They have a fair selection of beer, wine, soft drinks and coffees. They have sandwiches and other prepared food (e.g. giant $4 burritos) in the cooler. One time I had to ask for toilet paper and the guy brought it out from the back room. I suppose it took up too much space on the shelf. This is the alternative to Royal Blue, which has even higher prices, although Royal Blue makes some food in-house. On the whole, I prefer Second Street because Royal Blue has a weird vibe and some weird brands and this place is a regular store.

It was in close proximity to…read moreboth my hotel and the Austin Convention Center, and without a car sometimes it was just easier to walk down the street instead of Lyft to a store or restaurant. Honestly unremarkable. An independent convenience store that knows it can charge more because of where it is. The staff were friendly enough, but the stock was kind of limited. That might be due to so many people being in town that week but they seemed to run out of drinks fairly quickly. It's also no fault of the store but it's worth mentioning right in front of their doors seems to be a popular hangout for Austin's homeless. I don't think we managed a single visit here without being asked for change. If you need a quick snack they are in a great location, just don't expect an overly pleasant visit.

I found some produce products that were more of a bargain than at the larger supermarket down the street. One thing that I had been waiting for was to try their breakfast tacos which were absolutely divine. There was even a hint of gooieness that you want from a cinnamon roll. For a dollar and some change it's a great size! As I noticed other people gathering around the hot food line, I couldn't help but decide on getting a plate. I picked up the ranchero bisteak and chicken Tinga and for my two sides, I decided on the plantains and nopales. Both of the meats I decided on were extremely delicious in flavor and the beef was exceptionally tender. I got red and green salsa and it appears that the red salsa is a tad bit creamy, which is not something I've had many times before. It was unique and extremely tasty. As for the green salsa, I have yet to try, but I am sure it won't disappoint. I do want to give this place praise because I have passed it up before, but it is not a place to be looked over. There's so many other goodies in here that you won't find at a regular grocery store so it's definitely worth coming inside and checking out especially if you just want something to do. The people were so nice exceptional customer service. There is seating if you want to eat inside and they were playing good music. I almost forgot to mention how exceptional the sides were. Often times people mess up nopales, but these were delicious.
