food - the restaurant features a large selection of options to complement its central menu item, the gyro. that said, because i was planning to go workout after eating, i'd ordered a light side option of a greek salad, which includes sliced tomatoes, feta cheese, and vinaigrette dressing. and while the gyro itself is a significant portion, especially with supreme toppings of lettuce, tomato, feta, and tzatziki, as i requested, the gyro and salad combo plate with a lemonade was not overly filling for a pre-workout meal, and all had a really good taste. i'm especially impressed with the gyro, which makes sense given the name of the restaurant, but was specifically in awe of the subtle crisp to the exterior of the meat, while maintaining a tender interior, all without a breading coat. service - the service was excellent, with the most notable aspect to me being the worker at the counter asking me if today was my first day eating at the restaurant. and while one might interpret such a question as suggestive of a recently opened restaurant or a restaurant that does not usually get guests other than its regulars, i'd taken the question as coming from a guy who works many hours at the restaurant and still makes a point to get to greet every guest as if she or he has the potential to become a regular there. ambiance - the seating at the restaurant is rather spacious and includes a balanced mix of tables and booths. further, one feature i found interesting was the art pieces, which appeared to me to be of the impressionist school, located on the right wall as you enter the restaurant, with one particular work of two musicians appearing to place respective instruments toward one another. and although i did not snap of a picture of the art, mostly because i'm not especially comfortable taking pictures of restaurant decor on a regular basis, i'd still encourage any potential guests of the restaurant to have a look at the art, and even reply here with an interpretation of the style of art if you have a similar or different idea. read more

I get the Gyro Platter with an extra order of Pita bread and it comes with a side of tzatziki sauce, salad with olives, tomatoes, and cucumbers and Italian dressing. The receipt I was given was not itemized. Something is fishy. So, my recommendation ...check your bill! We had a gyro platter and a falafel sandwich. Not going waste my time with details on either, because I ain't coming back, and I don't recommend it. My wife summarized the restaurant well, the food is fresh but, she wished that the restaurant was cleaner. And please turn down that television volume. Nice little hole in the wall gyros joint. I had the Gyros (A special combination of lamb and beef slowly cooked on a vertical spit served open face with pita bread topped with fresh onions, tomatoes and sauce served on the side.) Not my favorite, but I'm kind of a gyros connoisseur. I also had the Greek Fries (french fries with lemon juice and loaded with oregano, romano cheese and garlic salt.) if you like feta, you'll love these. They're packed with it. I'd rather be a Gyromaniac (which I kinda am) than a Pyromaniac (which I def am). Yes I'd be obese but I would have avoided all the felony charges for burning sh** down. It's not really my fault, all my celebrity heroes tell me to "burn it down" and that "I'm on fire" and I take it literally. Anyway. I wanted to love this place because I think they could use the business and they seemed pretty quiet considering it was lunch time. However the Gyro was kind of drowned in feta cheese and white sauce and those two elements didn't really taste very good. Not garlicky at all, but weird, kind of creamy and cheesy. The chunks of meat were in cylindrical oblong squares which made me think they might be fake, but I don't think they were - I just think they were chopped weirdly. Prices are pretty decent (unlike Barbie's outfits), and the product certainly isn't awful (unlike men everywhere), so give it a try for yourself and see what you think. Didn't have the heart to give it less than 4 stars since it's a family owned place in a struggling town for family businesses and it's certainly not awful. People barely read anymore anyway, so the star rating is more important than an iffy review. read more

I don't eat a lot of gyros. I remember having one decades ago now when I was young. I enjoyed that one and it has made them a rare and special food. Greek cuisine is not my favorite but I always hope I find a gyro that I can love. I am usually somewhat disappointed but not entirely. Overall I would they provide a high quality gyro. They seem proud of their feta cheese and it is definitely a real feta and so has and adds some flavor. The pita bread is thick and fluffy with chew and crisp. Definitely not a glorified tortilla or a savory pancake. It seems this is what pita bread is supposed to be like. The meat is also of good quality perhaps the best gyro meat I have yet had. The menu board is difficult to read but does give you a lot of options. No individual menus are available and the decor is not high class dining. The prices are a bit higher than I like but perhaps in this day and age not completely out of line. Expect to pay at least $10 per person. The only other caution I would give is in communication. They use a menu board with pictures so you don't get a good description of what they serve and the photo is not accurate. The photo of what I ordered did not show lettuce but it had it on it. I also requested no tomatoes but got one with. They remade my sandwich but didn't give me a chance to ask for no lettuce. Be sure they know what you want when you order and ask what comes on that or you may be disappointed. Would I return? Yes when I want a good quality Greek meal and I'm willing to pay $10-15 for it. I think the owner loves his food and is proud of it. That's always a good thing. read more

This place is near my parents house but have never been as I have my fave Lebanese/Mediterranean place a mile away. It looks like they added some new items so I decided to try one. They now offer fries or tots with gyro meat topping! Sounds amazing right? It also comes with grilled onions, mushrooms, feta cheese, American cheese, and a side of tzatziki. I placed my order to go, and asked for no mushrooms- those who know me know I do not eat mushrooms-ever! So the guy asked if I wanted extra meat instead so I agreed! I also ordered hummus with extra fluffy grilled pita. I get home, ready to dive into some tasty tots and gyro meat when I open the box and it's crammed full of the toppings and mushrooms!!!! I call them and remind them of my order and mentioned that I asked for no mushrooms. The guy on the phone, said I would have written that down. My paper says nothing about mushrooms. I replied I do not ever eat mushrooms, plus why would you offer to add extra meat in the mushrooms' place? Again, he said you said nothing about mushrooms. I asked if he was calling me a liar and he finally said, I guess I could remake it for you, but still not my fault. I read a lot of reviews of places, I looked at others, but this place drew my attention. We came, we saw, and we loved. We both ordered the gyro special (?) and from the first bite was in ecstasy. This place is one of those "you have to know to know" type places. The employees were more than polite and made sure everyone had their meals and knew who ordered what. So when I want a gyro at home here in Tulsa this is where I come. There are other places in town that have it going on but for me and my wife, hands down this is the best. The owner is here nearly every time we come in and he's always friendly. I enjoy the selection beyond a gyro here and have had about half the menu items but hey, I want a gyro!!! I always get the special and pay for extra meat on mine and I get baklava. It's a small divey place with not a lot of seating but the focus here is on food that is delicious and in large portions. Been wanting to try this place for some time. Popped in for an Early lunch. This place is clean, not really nice inside, more dive-like, but respectably clean. I am the only one here at 11:30am along with what I assume is the owner/operator. After perusing the picture menu board I settle on a #2 combo, gyro samdwich, greek salad, and drink. The operator upsells me on hummus and pita. I accept his offer and he goes to work on my meal. The gyro meat is on a vertical spit as you would expect. The meat is sliced and heads to the griddle to lightly toast. Pita is also toasted for both gyro and hummus. A few short minutes later I am back at the counter gathering my tray. The hummus and hot pita are first to try. Nothing out of the ordinary here. Solid effort, no bitter garlic taste, just mildly flavored hummus topped with the ubiquitous stale ground paprika. The warm pita is awesome and appreciated. Should be nited that the pita is not a pocket type here closer to lavash in substance. On to the salad, which I must say lacks slightly in appearance. What it lacked by looking sloppy on the plate it made up for in size. Loads of shredded lettuce topped with diced tomato, cucumber, blk olives, italian dressing and loads of feta. This is a side dish. Its fine for what it is and a somewhat healthy sub for fries. The main attraction is the gyro sandwich. It is substatial. Probably close to a pound in weight. The same delicious toasted bread, loads of gryo meat, greek yogurt(no tatziki), lettuce, tomato, and feta. All ingredients are good and combine well for solid flavor. Nothing mind-blowing, just as solid a gyro as you can find in Tulsa. All-in-all an excellent sandwich. Finally, tho the owner/operator was not intrusive, he did ask how my meal was about half way through. That is a nice personal touch. read more
