This place doesn't look like much from the surface, but I was blown away by the food! I ordered the chicken shawarma platter and chose salad as both sides. The chicken was piled high and the tatziki sauce really brought it home for me. The salad was hearty and had tons of toppings!! I could only eat half and took the rest home for leftovers. Service was quick and I will definitely be coming back!! read more

Falafel was disappointing. Way overdone. Hummus seems to be white bean and too whipped; weird taste. They also forgot to put my tzatziki on my gyro. I'm a Clevelander and there's a large amount of corner gyro spots. This would not compete ! read more

I like the food that's it. Service is great. Nice place to go. Good takeout food nice and clean inside.

Solid choice if you're on the Covington down town strip. Food is made to order and wasn't overly salty or greasy. I had the vegetarian platter and my son had the "small" grilled chicken salad. The portions were huge and even filled up my 14 year old bottomless pit. Would come back for sure. For that plus 2 medium fountain drinks we were at $32. read more

Stopped by for a late lunch was not busy. The person greeted me did not speak English. But the owner does The Gyro lunch special was very good. I would recommend. read more

The service and food were both great! You can tell the guy working there is passionate about what they do.

In a time where nothing stays the same, Gyros On Main remains a constant. Gyros On Main is such a gem. I popped over to snag some lunch today after I realized I hadn't been in awhile. Everything here is delicious and the staff/owner are super friendly. Today, I ordered the chicken shawarma platter. I got the mediterranean salad and fries (because balance) as my sides. The fries were SO freakin good - crispy and seasoned beautifully. The chicken shawarma was delicious and the salad was super fresh. I always notice how fresh everything here tastes. I need to try some more from the dessert menu, I always forget to order the pudding or baklava! read more

Good gyro just not the best I've had. It came with tomatoes and onions but they were only at the end. It was definitely stuffed though and a good portion of meat. I was disappointed with the falafel though. It was very dry. They are also very small pieces. read more

Our timing seems to be off every time we attempt to try Gyros on Main. We were excited to finally be around when they were open. The star of our visit was the Greek fries. Seasoned fries help prevent them from getting too soggy when traveling. I'm not usually a huge fan of dill. The sauce on top of the fries (I got mine on the side to help prevent the fries from getting too soggy,) is strong with dill. The combination of this sauce with the lemon, feta, and other spices really worked together. I was surprised how much I likes it. I am talking a craveable combination. The chicken shawarma is a solid choice. It is packed with filling. I may have been more impressed with it if the Greek fries weren't so impressive. My husband was less impressed with his chicken crispy Philly. He thought it was a Philly with crispy chicken, not a chicken Philly that has been deep fried. His did not travel well. There was no crisp by the time it reached our destination. It left him with an oily mouth feel. There is a limited amount of seating. This is more of a grab-and-go type of establishment. On another note, we had some trouble finding parking. On a Saturday afternoon, there were large trucks blocking much of the free parking. They seem to be there to stay as they were selling plants out of them. We did eventually find paid parking. This didn't effect the number of stars, this is more of an FYI incase this is a regular occurrence. read more

Wow, best gyro I have had in the greater Cincinnati area! Selfishly I was tempted to not write this because I didn't want long lines at this place. However, since the food quality and service are so impressive I couldn't help myself. I had the basic gyro and fries and it was delicious. BTW - the fries are so good they are main dish worthy. And the gyro is so flavorful and not at all greasy. Well done Gyros on Main! read more

Love that this place opened down the street. Been here multiple times. Typically get the chicken shawarma but the phill ain't bad either. Nice guys who run the place too! read more

Best gyro in a long time. Meat was excellently seasoned with a hint of licorice. Fresh toppings and the bread was soft and did not tear. Well done! read more

Delicious!! I ordered a regular gyro with fries. Very kind service, the owner opened the door for me when he saw I was struggling to carry my food and gave me a free drink for the food taking a little while longer to prepare. Would recommend!! read more

This place was amazing! The staff was wonderful and super friendly! The food was absolutely phenomenal!! The fries were great, all the reviews about the fries were right! The salad and the gyros were awesome and we had a large party. The shawarma was really good! They also offer baked goods. We got macaroons and baklava. That was delicious as well! I can't say enough good things about this place. We travel a lot and really great restaurants with really service is not as easy to find as you might think!, this place had both! It's on a downtown street so you might have to drive around a bit for parking but believe me, it's totally worth it!! If you're in Covington this place is a definite spot to hit! read more

I have been anxiously awaiting their opening and was thrilled to see they were finally open! My boyfriend and I came in for a late dinner. We ordered the Greek fries to share and as soon as they were out of the fryer, they piled them with feta cheese and seasoning and brought them out. They are a must have! I ordered the crispy Philly cheese steak, which was described to me as a deep fried Philly. I am always up for trying something new, and I didn't regret my decision! The outer covering was almost the consistency of a phyllo dough and the inside was filled with cheesy Philly steak goodness. My boyfriend ordered the mega sized gyro and they weren't kidding about mega! There was so much meat! The lamb was very tender and mixed perfectly with the seasonings and toppings. On our way out we saw a pastry case of house made desserts that looked incredible, but we decided to wait until next time to try those! read more

Gyros On Main - Highly recommend the crispy Philly cheese steak - Falafel Near Me - Covington, Kentucky

I knew Gyros on Main was coming to Mainstrasse and the wait is finally over! First impression walking in the restaurant was wow! Beautiful artwork and simple clean design elements. They also have a video menu board, very cool and easy to read. The food did not disappoint either! I ordered a gyro (extra meat) and fries! The perfect snack after being at the Bengals game! The gyro I had was excellent! Vegetables were fresh, pita was warm, fluffy and light. The meat was the perfect consistency of tender with a few lightly crispy edges. The tzatziki sauce was the best I've had at a Mediterranean restaurant, house made for sure! The fries did not disappoint either, crispy and good! Overall the new addition to Main Street in Covington is a winner! Excellent food, clean establishment and friendly, attentive staff! I'll be back for sure! Owner Mo and staff, keep up the good work!!! read more

Visited due to numerous recommendations that this was one of the best gyros places in Cincy/NKy. Sorry to say it was poor all around. Bland taste, store bought cardboard pita, greasy, overpriced and the customer service left a lot to be desired. Look elsewhere for your gyro fix. My 0.02c read more

Great spot on Mainstraus for Greek cuisine opens this week. Ask Mo to make a Great Greek Salad for you and he adds the ingredients right in front of you as you request each item of the 15+garden items then topped with gyro meat. Fries are killer and loaded with feta cheese and Parsley. I'll be back! read more

Yum! I spent a week in the Marriot not far from here and had dinner delivered. Superfast and the food was great! I had the Gyro plate, and they had me right away. As a matter of fact, I had it again Thursday evening as well. This time I had the Gyro sandwich with feta and deep-fried mushrooms, and they were delicious. They had a lot of flavor in the breading. Super yummy and quick to deliver! read more

They have BAKLAVA!!! I just had their fries for the first time today and they're the BEST fries in town, by far. Great menu with a lot of options, drinks, desserts, salads, and some incredible gyros that remind me of the gyros in New York City. Get the lunch special for 7$ something. Great value with all you get. read more

The quality of food and service has gone way down while the prices have gone up. It was 5 stars in 2020/2021 but it is not the same at all. The ingredients are worse, portions are smaller, they forget things, and the overall taste is off. Unfortunate it has gone downhill, was one of my favorite restaurants. I guess it could be alright if you never knew how good it was before. But now it's just disappointing. read more

I am new to Cincinnati and was craving a gyro... this was listed as one of the top places in the city. At first I was hesitant because I didn't want to cross into another state just for a gyro... but it was not even far and ABSOLUTELY worth it!!! This is the real deal!!! Absolutely delicious. I was so happy with my gyro !!! The falafels are amazing too. I have told my friends and family all about this place and I will definitely be back. read more

Baklava great! Main menu, not so much. Chicken shawarma was disappointing. Getting extra meet made it worse, not enough toppings or sauce. Also dry chicken. My wife got the gyro, which was better but not great. Would have been one star but Baklava was great. read more

Excellent place. I got the veggie platter, hub got the crispy Philly steak and we got Greek fries to share. Service was fast. Hub, the Philly native, loved the steak. The combo of feta and dressing on the fries really make them something special. The hummus is super creamy. The baba ganoush is super silky and smokey. The falafel are perfectly cooked. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable. Setvice was fast. Will definitely come back. read more

Absolutely fantastic food served relatively quickly. This is no imitation gyro place--best I've had in Cincinnati and on par with great gyros anywhere. Very clean kitchen and dining room run by really friendly people. read more

Ordered a gyro with feta, chicken shawarma, and fries for delivery. It was amazing! The delivery was quick, and both pitas had a ton of meat on them. The fries were also very crispy considering it was delivery order. We got a regular order and also the Greek fries. Would probably just go with regular next time and do without the feta. Excited to continue to order from this place during lockdown. read more

Great gyros here. I had Gyros with Cincinnati chili and fries. The Gyros were well made, juicy and tasty. The chili with shredded cheese gave an edge to the dish. The service was great. It seems mainly like a carryout place, but there was some furniture for a sit down meal, specially after a visit to a local pub. read more

I'm so thrilled I stumbled upon this place, it's excellent and the staff couldn't be kinder. Glad to support them!

Ordered to go on their linked menu. 1. It isn't clear the gyros are nothing but meat and pita - if you don't select everything, nothing gets added; They texted to say my order was ready and when I got there they still needed to make several items! Not good. Way too salty. Note: if your going to pick up your order, you need a driver and a runner to go into the restaurant. The app suggests a tip but no one fills your fountain drink, let alone brings you your food. Ugh. Sadly, Arby's makes a better tasting gyro. read more

Everything was amazing! The Greek fries are a must try. I also had the Philly cheesesteak and baklava for dessert.
