    Popcorn Chicken
    Robert G.

First time here wasn't bad. Got a chicken gyro platter with some nice crispy fries. Gyro was a bit messy but very good. Got some popcorn chicken. Was a little dry but doable.

It's a BYO, so be sure to bring whatever adult beverage you like and they will serve it to you. The mixed appetizer platter had something for everyone. Their hummus is fresh and delicious. Also comes with babaghanoush (smoked eggplant w/tahini, garlic, lemon and olive oil), lebni (strained yogurt w/ walnuts, garlic and dill), & stuffed grape leaves. It comes with plenty of pita bread to spread or dip with. I absolutely loved the zucchini pancakes because they were not at all greasy! We also ordered the Turkish tea and coffee to enjoy there but were too full for dessert. They have something for everyone. Stop in and enjoy delicious food in a calm and peaceful setting. They also give you delightfully scented hand wipes before sending you back into the real world.

There is a strong cult following here on reviews so I wanted to check out what the fuzz was along…read morert 10 in Randolph. I respect this for middle eastern places. Bear with me, I am a falafel lover . Here's my review, It had some Persian influence with the cranberries but way too many, too much sugar the falafels were cut in tiny tiny pieces , odd, I'm not a child nobody needs to cut up my food , I'm an adult . Pita was also cut up, mixed in salad . Not sure why? What if I didn't want bread? Where is the salad? The menu said vegetables but I got rice and cut up falafels . Heavy on dressing that tastes like sour cream . I couldn't eat it and now the salad is sloppy. No fresh veggies. The rice saved this dish with spice . This was a very strange one . Likely other dishes might be better , I'll give it a chance . I've had more love than this . Sorry not sorry

Food: I ended up ordering a chicken platter with rice, peppers, pita, hot sauce, and white sauce. It was my first time having the Afghani style which included carrots and raisins, which was a really nice addition to the foods. This hit multiple flavor profiles and did not feel heavy at all, probably one of the better platters I have ever had tbh. I also really enjoyed the white sauce and found out that they sell them in bottles which I might use when I cook my own halal platters at home. Aesthetic: 6-8 tables with a nice ordering area. Located just off of Route 10 and Salem Street which makes it easily accessible for many. Service: both people that helped me were so kind it makes me want to go back there again just for how nice they were. I do plan on going back often when I can now that I found a great halal place by me.

They do post and update the website which is super helpful. We ordered and shared the following: Samosas Bread basket with a bit of all the Naan Malal Kofta Tangdi Kebaba-grilled to perfection (takes about 1/2 an hour since it's freshly made) Butter chicken Chicken Tikki Masala The sauces were delightful over their rice and of course to dip the Naan! Each one was tastier than the other and we brought home leftovers for tomorrow. This is a super busy place, lots of to go orders and people eating in. If the weather permits, you can even sit outside. Inside is thoroughly air conditioned and well ventilated. I dare say my kids rated this some of the best Indian food they have ever had.

Came on a Sunday night for dinner. The menu is a QR code that directs you online and requires you…read moreto view it from your phone. Unfortunately, it's extremely clunky and not very user friendly (see photos). Because there are so many items on the menu and they are grouped separately, you have to constantly click, then go back, then click again, and repeat. One pros to this is some of the items have photos and descriptions, although some do not have photos or any description or the writing is cutoff. Finally we were able to get a physical menu which was the menu they use as flyers to handout. It was much easier to navigate but the in house prices were more expensive by $2-$4 in some cases. I asked the waiter for his recommendation and he said the HBK spl Chicken Biriyani is by far the most popular. One thing to note, there is no description of what exactly it was. In all, we ordered garlic naan, chef special cheese naan, butter chicken, HBK spl Chicken Biriyani, and Malabar kothu paratha. They brought everything to the table at once except the biriyani came much later. I didn't want anyone to wait so told them to start. They may have assumed we were all sharing so that may be why it came at different times. Overall, the food was ok. Nothing too special. The HBK special is boneless pan fried chicken pieces and also bone-in chicken pieces. There was quite a bit of biriyani and kothu, the butter chicken seemed like not too many pieces of meat. Service was just ok. No one came to check on us and the server forgot our requests a few times. We finally got up and approached the staff to get what we needed. They weren't too busy in house but there seemed to be a lot of pickup orders. I would come again at a different time and try some other dishes, I don't think we ordered the right things. Will also stop by and try the weekend buffet and update my review accordingly.

There were 6 of us and we split the Efsane Family Special for 4 people and added lamb chops thinking we wouldn't have enough food lol the special also came with dessert but my sister-in-law also ordered a rice pudding. For context, we all eat a LOT so to say we had leftovers is saying a lot! Quantity aside, the food itself was delicious. The bread is served fresh and steaming hot, the dips are delicious and flavorful, meat is seasoned and cooked perfectly (the chicken shish and lamb adana are my favorites), and the bitter black tea and sweet baklava are a perfect way to end the meal. I left there stuffed and so happy! The staff was also very friendly and attentive. I'll definitely be back!

Crankiness aside... the fam decided to step outside of our comfort zone and try Persian food for the very first time. The restaurant - looks great inside (I've passed this place countless times over the years and don't think I even peeked inside). The gal behind the counter - could not be any nicer. The food - delicious, packed with flavor. My kids were baffled how proteins they're used to eating (beef, chicken) could taste so differently thanks to unique spices and whatnot. The meal came to about $20 per person (no drinks, just the entrée) and while the 'Kabob Koobideh' was a generous portion, the falafel sandwich (for $15) is wildly overpriced (it's about $10 from Greek Town right across the street, never mind about $8 from Mamoun's just about two minutes away over on Rt. 17N). Happy to have tried it, would come back (while grumbling about the cost under my breath because I'm a crabby old man).
