I'm mad at myself because I have passed up this place for a couple of years for junk food nearby. I come to visit my daughter often and passed it but never did stop by. Wow the combo meal was so good and fresh and hot. The sauce was great on the combo and with the fresh veggies on it. My wife love the fresh mixed tropical juice I had the beet drink juice which was ok since I hate beets but needed some in my system. That's the only reason I will give them a 4 1/2 really a five lol. As you walk in, you are welcomed by several tables and seating options. The restaurant is clean and bright. I'm a sucker for a well lit atmosphere. You're greeted immediately. This is an order, pay and be served type of establishment. The menu is above the counter area. I think they also had paper menus and of course you could look online. I got the lamb and chicken gyro and OMG! Let me tell you this is one of the best gyros I've ever had; if you do get one I definitely recommend the medium spicy sauce. It has a nice kick to the Gyro. I also got the Gyro fries loaded with lamb! Very delicious and my food was hot and prepared right before my eyes. They have an open prep kitchen, which is a nice touch. For two people to eat, plan to spend about $20-$30. They also had baklava I did not get to try it but it did look extra moist! I will try next time. I will definitely be returning. This is near my home and a great location outside of the city to get a quick bite from , about a mile off of Barker Cypress coming from I 10. My wife and tried this place last week. I had the lamb and chicken wrap. It was good and a lot for the money. Definitely need to be hungry to eat it all. My wife had the lamb and chicken combo plate, with long rice noodles. The chicken and lamb were delicious and the rice had a nice flavor too. Another large plate of food. The staff was nice, friendly and helpful. The only down side is the styrofoam Togo containers to eat on. I will say be hungry, the amount of food served is enough for two meals. The service is sub par to say the least and the food quality has gone to the floor. I decided to give them another try although I was disappointed at my last visit. This time was even worse with my platter. The "salad" was about three huge pieces of iceberg lettuce. My rice is dry and hard. There are toppings on my platter that I asked to be removed. Taking a leap of faith to try something new and the advertisement of "gyros" really lured me in. Upon my first visit the staff was kind enough to let me try a small sample of the meats offered because it was many other selections outside of gyros. To my delight, I was like "DANG!", so good! Let me tell you, in my opinion it's not just "Greek gyros" but, a fusion with Middle Eastern (halal seasonings) and Mediterranean. My go to choice was the lamb and chicken plate and man......sooooo good! So good that I brought back my wife, my daughter, and a colleague on several different occasions. Needless to say, I couldn't get enough!!!!!! Now for the cons....(Summarized) -They ration the veggies (cucumber diced (garbage tactic), and stingy with pickles (because it's a must to try with your meal for added flavor). If you ask, for any extra they really don't want to give it to you. -There aren't any fountain drinks (everything is canned or water bottles = garbage approach) which means overinflated pricing. Don't buy into it! - They charge $3 FOR ONE PITA BREAD if you want one with your meal!!!!!!!! Rip off!!! SHAME SHAME SHAME ON THE BUSINESS! In final, I have to say the meats + rice (within the plate) is out of this world flavorful especially when you add the "included" white yogurt based sauce and pickles. Disclaimer: That sauce is addictive, I'm just saying proceed with caution as they may begin to charge for it in the future. This place is a must try at least once for foodies and beware that prices are a bit high at this place. Happy eating folks! I've eaten at the Sugarland location for years, but this one does not compare in food or customer service. I ordered the lamb plate and it had several large cardamom seeds mixed in the meat. I unfortunately bit into 2 during the course of my meal and the bitter taste killed my appetite and gave me indigestion. I called in and they told me to come back and get a refund or new plate. Drove back up there and got the complete opposite. I was told I'm not used to the food even though I've eaten it for years. Gyro Hut is my go-to for Mediterranean fast food. Their dishes are reasonably priced and consistently good, and their portions are much larger than most. My favorite dish is the Chicken Salad Platter, surprisingly packed full with flavorful chicken, lettuce, pickled carrots and jalapeños, chick peas, olives, corn, cucumber, onions, sliced pickles, and tomatoes.
