The place may seem simple but "less is more" is one of my favorites. NOW the food is fresh and tasty...DELICIOUS! The falafel packed a punch with spices...soft and fluffy on the inside with the crispy outer shell...oh so good. The Gyro was amazing with the perfect pita not the standard one and surprised us because it came with pickles which elevated the flavor & we loved it. We did a To-Go order of deserts & lentil soup...Baklava Cheesecake & Orange cake. The cheesecake was wicked & the cake was soaked in the most amazing orange syrup, not too sweet. I had the lentil soup for lunch at work and my coworkers were jealous because the smell of the spices expressed the flavor of the soup. I was in the mood for Mediterranean food so stumbled across this spot. I called in my order of the shrimp platter and the shrimp sandwich (really a wrap). When I arrived I parked in the plaza lot. I walked in and was greeted. My food was ready so I paid and left. When I ate it was really good. The young lady added salad for me and that with the platter and the white sauce combo was very good. We were in the area and decided to stop by for a bite. It's been awhile since I had a gyro sandwich and I have to say that theirs is by far one of the best. My wife ordered the lamb platter with salad. Another thing I haven't had in a long time was the falafel. What makes the falafel soooo good is the spices that are added to the chick peas before frying. Totally delicious food. I haven't had a gyro in over 2 years. I needed one, bad! Decided to go to the Gyro Grill for lunch. Very friendly service. All laughs and smiles. The menu is pretty big. We had the gyro and the yummy platter. The gyro meat has a lot of good flavor and was pretty juicy. What I liked best was the flavor of the tzatziki sauce, it's the best I've had. Visited this place as I'm always searching for good gyros. This place was well rated on Yelp, so stopped by. Ordered a gyro, fries and a coke. Fries were hot and tasty. The gyro, even when pulling it out of the to-go bag when I was dining in, was room temperature to the touch rolled up in tinfoil. When i opened up the sandwich there was no hidden warmth inside. I dug around for a few chunks of gyro and it was ok, just not even slightly warm. I stopped eating it and put it aside as i am not a fan of food done wrong. Will go again - One of my favorite chicken and rice spots around Wayne, NJ. Mainly because there aren't many other options. Regardless, they are very good. I have been here multiple times now and always ordered the mixed Yummy Platter. It cures the cravings in place of needing to drive all the way into NYC. They share a large parking lot with many other businesses as they are in a strip mall. The interior is very spacious and they have a small outdoor seating when the weather permits. We were getting a little sick of cooking the same stuff at home during the lockdown and my boyfriend looked up some different places and saw this was right up the road ... they now have customers for life. The place was very clean which is one of the first things we look for . The gentlemen that we assumed was the owner was very friendly and pleasant and you could see he values his customers. The prices were great and the quality of the food outstanding as well as the portion sizes ! We both ate and still have enough for tomorrow ! I highly suggest their hummus. Was a bit disappointed. I love Greek gyros and after reading about this place gave it a try. It was good just not great IMHO. After some return visits I am still impressed but less s than when they originally opened. The weakest menu item ironically is their namesake 'The gyro." It isn't fair to compare their gyro style to the traditional greek style gyro. Rather than cook the crispy meat on a spit, the meat appears to be the plain frozen variety which came 'cubed" not thinly sliced. The tzaziki sauce is horrible and tasted like sweet mayo with no dill. The portion size, like most jersey gyro joints, is a bit small. Lastly, they don't serve onion on their gyros. Whoever hears of gyros with out onion? I enjoyed many of their other dishes but if you go do not order a gyro. read more
