The owner is hands down the most friendliest person you will ever meet which adds to the ambiance of the restaurant! Now for the food, you can tell they care for the quality of the food and definitely take pride in it. I had the combination platter and the falafels are on point! They definitely recognized me when I returned the second time or maybe they are good at greeting customers, not sure. I am no longer a college student at WPU but the food definitely hit the spot on days of cramming for exams and needed a healthy option as opposed to the typical fast food choices. read more

DoorDash order. The food was overall good. Chicken was tender with nice char, gyro wrap was cut in chunks rather than in strips. Falafel was nicely crunchy. The sauces were good, but none of them really stood out. I would order again from here if my family requested it but I'm not sure it grabbed any of them enough to request a re-order. read more

The Yummy Platter is the best!! And the prices are really great, too. Worth every penny.

This is our go-to place when we're craving comfort food that just delivers on all fronts--flavor, consistency, generous portions, and just exactly what you want from a gyro platter. Everyone is so friendly there, and the ability to select extra sauces is such a lovely plus. I'm also stunned at how reasonable prices are here! read more

worth traveling to new jersey to (and I never say that) an authentic gem - tasty food, great service and friendly owners! 10/10 would recommend read more

Been wanting to try this place for a while and finally came on a recent Sunday. Food was absolutely fantastic. Got to try Kibbe for the first time and it certainly won't be the last time. I split the combination platter for two and everything was top notch. Their white sauce also rivals the best white sauces out there. Prices are reasonable, portion sizes are good. Unfortunately I did not get to talk to the owner but I hear he is an absolute gem. Gyro grill is truly a local institution read more

The sandwiches all were big with an -average flavor. I was disappointed with the Israeli salad. It had a bitter taste and might have been past its prime. It had a pool of red liquid at the bottom. Such shame ,that is what I was looking forward to having the most. I have never had Israeli salad that was so awful that I threw it away. Place was casual and had nice service. I might try again but definitely not too soon. I would have to get over the bad Israeli salad. I thought this was going to be my new go to go place, shame, below average ... I really wanted to love this place, read more

I was in the mood for Mediterranean food so stumbled across this spot. I called in my order of the shrimp platter and the shrimp sandwich (really a wrap). When I arrived I parked in the plaza lot. I walked in and was greeted. My food was ready so I paid and left. When I ate it was really good. The young lady added salad for me and that with the platter and the white sauce combo was very good. It was very filling and I truely enjoyed my meal. read more

Gyro Grill - Lentil soup, latkes, small appetizer sampler of babaganoush, hummus, and falafel balls - Middle Eastern Near Me - Wayne, New Jersey

Amazing food! Cannot wait to go back, I am willing to travel 45 minutes to go eat at Gyro Grill. The owner is a delight and the staff is very nice. Feels like everyone is family! read more

We were in the area and decided to stop by for a bite. It's been awhile since I had a gyro sandwich and I have to say that theirs is by far one of the best. My wife ordered the lamb platter with salad. Another thing I haven't had in a long time was the falafel. What makes the falafel soooo good is the spices that are added to the chick peas before frying. Totally delicious food. If you're in the mood for good Mediterranean style food, this is the spot! read more

The food was good- however the style of pita they serve is very flat. The bathroom was really dirty. To me that is a bad sign- if they can't keep that clean, what does the kitchen look like? I probably will not go here again. EDIT: So since the owner is accusing me of writing a false negative review to undermine his business, I will mention that I came all the way from Bergen county to support this business. I brought my Israeli father in law with me. Its a shame the owner can't take constructive criticism read more

Middle Eastern food is one of my favorite cuisines and Gyro Grill just got #1 on my list! First, we walked in and we're greeted with the kindest and warm welcoming which truly set the mood. The young girl who served us was sweet and very attentive, not a skill more of a heart thing. The pictures on the walls are capturing and the atmosphere is peaceful & warm. The place may seem simple but "less is more" is one of my favorites. NOW the food is fresh and tasty...DELICIOUS! The falafel packed a punch with spices...soft and fluffy on the inside with the crispy outer shell...oh so good. The Gyro was amazing with the perfect pita not the standard one and surprised us because it came with pickles which elevated the flavor & we loved it. We did a To-Go order of deserts & lentil soup...Baklava Cheesecake & Orange cake. The cheesecake was wicked & the cake was soaked in the most amazing orange syrup, not too sweet. I had the lentil soup for lunch at work and my coworkers were jealous because the smell of the spices expressed the flavor of the soup. This place is a gem...home cooking with very reasonable prices and service with heart TRIFECTA :) read more

This place is a hidden gem! It's located in a shopping center that seems pretty quiet but this place is legit!! The food is delicious and every employee is super friendly. It had an authentic welcoming feel and I can't say enough about how delicious the food is. I always get the yummy platter with chicken and it's delicious! You won't be disappointed! read more

I haven't had a gyro in over 2 years. I needed one, bad! Decided to go to the Gyro Grill for lunch. Very friendly service. All laughs and smiles. The menu is pretty big. We had the gyro and the yummy platter. The gyro meat has a lot of good flavor and was pretty juicy. What I liked best was the flavor of the tzatziki sauce, it's the best I've had. I even put some on the spicy (Mediterranean spicy ) rice I got on the side. Delicious. I'm definitely going back, before leave NJ, to try out other menu items read more

Great food reasonably prices and good service For sure we will try this Middle Eastern Resturant again read more

This is my favorite place to come and get a gyro sandwich, their meat is tender and delicious, and they are super fast with bringing you out your meal I also like the fact that they keep bottles of white sauce and hot sauce in their refrigerator so you can squeeze as much sauce into your sandwich as you want, most places give you a bunch of little packages that are annoying to open and not enough of them sometimes and leaves you wanting more, here you get all the sauce that you want On top of the fact that the food is great here I also love the service, the owner Shlomo is one of the nicest people that I have ever met and is very welcoming and super funny The place overall is really clean especially their kitchen (I know this because i worked for ecolab and I've been back there) to me there is nothing more important than cleanliness in the place that makes the food that you consume, I give this place 5 stars. read more

Great food and staff!! The lentil soup is delicious!!! And the prices are great as is all the platters.

Delicious food, huge portions, very reasonably priced, quick service. Try the Yummy Platter!

Gyro Grill's delicious Mixed Appetizer Plate comes with * fresh hummus * baba ghanouj (a delicious eggplant-based dip) * labaneh (strained greek yogurt) * falafel (not pictured above) * tabouli salad (chopped parsley, tomatoes, onion and bulgur with lemon juice and spices) * kibbe (the only non-vegetarian item on this plate, fried balls of meat, onions, wheat and spices) and * grape leaves stuffed with rice ...all served with fresh pita bread to scoop them up with! I shared this entire platter with one person. The portions were so generous that we were left in a total food coma by the end, and still had plenty of leftovers. Luckily, it was super affordable and completely delicious- but I'd definitely recommend splitting this with 3-4 people! read more

The food was very good, I had the chicken shish kabob and the meat was very tender and the rice was nice and flavorful. The service was great and our waitress was constantly coming back to help us with anything. The interior was nice and casual and open. read more

Visited this place as I'm always searching for good gyros. This place was well rated on Yelp, so stopped by. Ordered a gyro, fries and a coke. Fries were hot and tasty. The gyro, even when pulling it out of the to-go bag when I was dining in, was room temperature to the touch rolled up in tinfoil. When i opened up the sandwich there was no hidden warmth inside. I dug around for a few chunks of gyro and it was ok, just not even slightly warm. I stopped eating it and put it aside as i am not a fan of food done wrong. If the fries hadn't been hot, this would be a 1 star review. read more

Will go again - One of my favorite chicken and rice spots around Wayne, NJ. Mainly because there aren't many other options. Regardless, they are very good. I have been here multiple times now and always ordered the mixed Yummy Platter. It cures the cravings in place of needing to drive all the way into NYC. They share a large parking lot with many other businesses as they are in a strip mall. The interior is very spacious and they have a small outdoor seating when the weather permits. The staff is friendly and hwo I believe is the owner is usually there. read more

Great food-the owner Schlomo is super accommodating and really nice. He deserves all the nice things people say about him.

Second time doing take out at this restaurant and everything was excellent . Their varied menu gave many choices and it was hard to pick. Upon pickup my takeout order was ready even though the restaurant was very busy. I must say everything was excellent and their staff was very accommodating. Will definitely be back. Thanks Schlomo read more

The flavors of their dishes are very authentic and the portions are generous. I've ordered the chicken kabob platter and the lamb gyro and they were both delicious. WOW! What a hidden gem ! We were getting a little sick of cooking the same stuff at home during the lockdown and my boyfriend looked up some different places and saw this was right up the road ... they now have customers for life. The place was very clean which is one of the first things we look for . The gentlemen that we assumed was the owner was very friendly and pleasant and you could see he values his customers. The prices were great and the quality of the food outstanding as well as the portion sizes ! We both ate and still have enough for tomorrow ! I highly suggest their hummus. THAT is what hummus should taste like! It was smooth and delicious and they gave us a full bag of pita ! We also had a hummus gyro , some fries and a great salad! I will be back ASAP . This place has it perfected ! read more
