Stopped by for dinner after doing a yelp search. So glad I found this place! The food was excellent. The service was great and the white sauce is phenomenal! The yummy platters are a great deal giving you the choice of rice, protein and salad. The chicken kebabs are delicious and have ordered these platters for get togethers. Gyro grill does catering which comes in handy for those last minute get togethers. Shlomo, the owner, is one of a kind and he always takes the time to get to know his customers. That's very special! For years people in Wayne have had to go to Greek restaurants like Zorba and Opa to get Gyros that weren't even good. Now we have Gyro Grill that has amazing food besides gyros. This place is absolutely delicious. I believe that it is BYOB since I saw a couple enjoying glasses of wine while dining. I got the yummy beef platter over salad (see photo) with a falafel appetizer. It was a significantly large portion and very cheap for what I received. The white sauce makes the dish. The falafel is home made and freshly cooked, super crispy and amazing. I chopped it up and put it all over my platter. The owner (or what appeared to be the owner) WAS SO NICE IT WAS UNBELIEVABLE. I was at first hesitant / scared to ask for extra white sauce on the side since I'm usually somewhat shy in requesting things at restaurants, but he was unbelievably welcoming and nice when he responded. My husband and I were looking for a local restaurant to try, and we agreed on Gyro Grill. And we were so happy we did! When I picked up our food, we were greeted by an incredibly friendly man behind the counter who thanked me for coming in. He told me to grab some sauces from the cooler on my way out, so I did. I just regret I didn't grab more! We split an order of the Kibbe as an appetizer, I had a beef schawerma sandwich, and my husband had a lamb schawerma sandwich. Shlomo is the nicest man. He always personally greets me each time and knows my order, Chicken Platter, spicy rice, no salad. The food is excellent, fresh, rice is spicy but not over the top, chicken is big chunks of white meat chicken, it usually takes me 2-3 servings to finish. There's not much food options or varieties in my town other than the local diners and the food court at the nearby mall. Stopped by after seeing their sign while driving to work. The place is super new so the interior is very clean and looks like it is kept clean which is always a good thing. The two owners of the place are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. They greet you the second you walked though their doors. They will guide you though any questions you have about their food and make sure it comes out the way you want it to. I have been here a handful of times now and usually always get the same thing. I get the yummy platter which is basically your choice of meat (chicken, gyro, or both) and rice (normal or spicy) along with some fresh veggies. I'm a combo and spicy rice kind of guy. If you have been to NYC, it is basically just like Halal Guys but better. Most people I see get their house special white sauce but I opt out of that as any kind of white sauce usually frightens me. I am told that the sauce is amazing from the owners and the other customers but it is just not for me! Regardless, the food is great. Their chicken is just fantastic with all the spices it is marinated with and how juicy it is when you bite into it but something about the gyro meat tops the chicken for me. The meats along with the spicy rice and veggies just puts me in a happy mood. Gyro Grill tops Halal Guys for me as the food here seems to be made with more care and love then at HG. They are still good but they are a franchise not a local Ma and Pa shop like Gyro Grill so the effort just isn't the same. Wayne is lucky to have this place and I hope it stays around for awhile.
