I was disappointed with my last visit. The store is a bit run down, not dirty though. The service was fine. My gyro was really greasy this time. Could have roasted a bit longer. Secondly, the fries were not cooked enough and extremely greasy. And lastly, the fountain soda needs adjusted. Strong syrup taste. read more

They just don't care. The building is disgusting. Hasn't been cleaned since the 90s when the picture on the ceiling was put up. The staff could care less about anyone that is of color, they just treat people of color differently. As if they are a commodity. The cook stays eating food off of the grille. I love going to this restaurant for my Cleveland Gyro! It's been a staple small restaurant chain in the Cleveland area for years. Just be open minded when you visit because it's not very impressive to the eye but I promise they have great food inside lol. I usually go here for breakfast to get their pancakes which are always pretty solid. Today my husband and I ordered a gyro and a gyro burger with fries. The gyro is made with lamb meat, lettuce,onion and tomato. The cucumber sauce all over is a must. I took a bite of the gyro burger and while it was tasty I must say I prefer the pita bread with my gyro. This place is worth a try I don't think you'll be disappointed. read more

Service was polite and speedy, but it seems like the gyros tasted bland and rushed in preparation. The flat bread did not seemed toasted or grilled,the meat did not seem seasoned,seared or roasted so no sweetness of flavor. Maybe day old meat??? It tasted not fresh off the rotisserie . Lots of tomatoes and lettuce but less meat now. I came all the time when I worked in the area. Now, I'm retired and stopped in for a fresh impression. Wife was equally disappointed and we will be searching elsewhere for better gyros, however their breakfast specials still seem attractive enough to try. I'll try again sometime for one more chance. Went to get a cheese omelet that came with Texas toast and home fries. The omelet was great! The home fries tasted a little undercooked but not inedible. The Texas toast was terrible. It was like it was lightly oiled and tossed on the grill for 10 seconds. Also got an order of fresh cut fries which were not the best, but definitely not bad at all! Customer service was great! This place was delicious. I recently got to try a Regular Gyro with lettuce, tomato, onions, and special sauce with a Fresh Cut Fry. I ordered take out. After leaving business, I opened bag of food to first try the fries. Initially, I was slightly disappointed -- No salt on the fries! Lol. I looked in the bag, not too confidently, hoping there would be small salt packets. There were! I added two salt packets to my fries and they were instantly perfect! The Gyro was excellent. This is another one of those difficult reviews to write because the food was good. I enjoyed my gyro- cooked perfectly, seasoned well and with a great cool tzatziki sauce. I was comfortable with the price of the lunch special- gyro, fries and a drink for $8. The cleanliness of Gyro George's is a whole different story. Everything was covered with some form of filth. The tables were all littered or sticky, the station where drinks and condiments live was disgusting and the floors were sticky. but don't worry, because towards the end of the lunch rush, they'll come through and mop the entire place with a bucket of water that has an overwhelming chemical smell. I tried holding my breath until I could leave, but it wasn't enough. He was literally mopping under people's feet and then didn't put up a wet floor sign. Besides the nasty interior of this place that hasn't been maintained for years from the looks of it, I had enjoyed the food for some time. BUT - last night I felt lied to, taken advantage of - when I preordered 10 wings online at a cost of $17.99, only to find out after picking them up that they were on special $9.99 for 12qty from the side window. I went back in only to get every excuse in the form of obvious impromptu lies why they couldn't do anything about it, told there was no manager on duty, and they I'd have to call then between 9-12 the next day. of course their phone wasn't allowing calls through, so I'll have to drive 20 mins to go back. I'm sooo over them now, and thought I should share before they get their next victim. Walk in and take a look at the big board for the specials as well as the regular menu items. This is a no frills down to business greasy spoon that is sure to delight you palate. From gyro omelets to fries as well as chicken and waffles.. the diverse menu is sure to have something for nearly everyone. I usually call ahead so my order is ready or has a chance of being ready shortly after my arrival 10-15min later. The food portions are usually HUGE.. and are quite a value. The 24 hour business program is also helpful to those that work odd hours or are just out for a late night. Today was burnt chicken day.... however the cashier offered to remake it without me asking. 5 stars on that! I opted to wait for a fresh serving. The place is pretty dirty and one shouldn't look too hard at the eclectic decor. Now down to the food. I find it delicious and filling. The waffle today was moist and fluffy. The chicken was crisp and hot. Log cabin type maple syrup aside... this is still outstanding for flavor and value. Just don't forget to wash your hands after you get home. I'll admit, this place is like a blast from the past & could use a little tlc but otherwise my experience here was a pleasant surprise. Although I only got the fresh cut fries, the were definitely made to order; hot & fresh...could've been a smidgen more crispy but delicious overall. My husband loved his gyro & said it was better than any of the places back home near Stow. But I'd have to say the best part about our visit was the owner. He seemed a bit abrupt at first when he took our order but turned out to be very sweet and interesting to speak with. He took time out of his busy day & made sure my husband & I were happy with his food and really got to know us. Good old fashioned customer service is almost non existent these days & his encouraging words were greatly welcomed. If this location wasn't an hour or more away my family & I would gladly return. read more

It was just... Meh. The tzatziki tasted more like ranch dressing, the fries and onion rings were disgusting and mushy. They tasted like they were fried in old oil. The worst part though, was the solid shards throughout the gyro meat. I can only assume they were bone shards. I found three in mine before I had to stop eating it. My husband found four in his. The gyros are great, this is what they specialize in so no surprise there. Its everything else that sucks about this place. First let me start with how they fool you with the prices. Clearly placed signage says 3 cakes and 3 sausage for 2.99... I get in order the 2.99 plus 1egg w/cheese sub'd for a cake...6.49...wtf...second, the chicken is super tiny and dry as hell...8.99 wtf...the sausage taste cheap, like the kind you put in the microwave. The pancakes was just short of cornbread...I can only mess with buttermilk cakes fron this point on... Third, every table was wobbly, no cushion in the chairs, dirty dingy walls and booths...the place just felt and looked dirty...thank God for the smell of food in there...chicken, fries, the cleveland plus 2 drinks equaled 24 bucks...which also equal me never going back...its clearly not worth it..at all...save your money until they make some updates... read more

They raised their prices. I don't know if it's the fact they are open 24 hours or just felt the need to increase their prices because the prices you see in the pictures and menu here have pretty much all been raised. The food is still decent though. The other Gyro George I usually visit is the location on Euclid. One of my favorite things to order is a Polish Boy and a small container of Gyro meat to go. Their Polish Boy is still around $5 with the side of Gyro meat for around $3 on top of receiving a small little extra sauce cup of coleslaw for the Polish Boy for well under $10. The Polish Boy at this establishment is now $7.99 and their to go portion of Gyro meat in the same container was around $5 and I didn't realize until later I was charged more for extra tzatziki sauce! My entire order was around $13! Basically $5 more for the same food I would get at the Euclid location. I figured this location had raised their prices due to the fact that it was open 24 hours and that's expensive for any establishment to achieve and maintain. Even though I paid more, I didn't mind actually. A good Polish boy and fresh Gyro meat at 3:30am is definitely worth it. The reason I came here is because the two Taco Bell's around this location both closed early on a Sunday night/Monday morning by almost 2 hours at one of the locations. They must've been slow because after working in fast food myself a lifetime ago, if you do not maintain a certain amount of customers after so long according to their profit potential, they will close early. So, that's something to be expected. Since I was in the area, I used the Yelp app and found this place still open and I do love a good Polish boy sandwich so I gave them a try. Overall, I would give this establishment 4 stars for just being an all around decent place to eat but since the other Gyro George locations are still cheaper I feel that this location loses a star because price is important. It's not too fancy, dated interior works but I would go to Gyro George rather than Denny's after midnight. If I ever get a 3am craving for a Polish boy, I do know where to go now. read more

It was a lovely day. Wanted to get out after being quarantined. So I ordered 2 corned beef sandwiches for me and the fellas. Gonna pick it it nice out! Lo and behold The worst corned beef sandwich ever! At first glance the meat looks to be sliced incorrectly and a little dry. Yep I was right. Wrong wrong wrong! Who in their right mind slices corned beef with the grain?! So I'm thinking maybe it won't be so bad if the beef is moist. Nope!! Dry! Like eating jerky. So disappointed. I ordered through grubhub delivery. Don't know if I will ever order through them again. I ordered Cleveland, George's Favorite, and 2 Crazy Omelets. Quantity of food is great. Omelet is 2 meals for me. I specifically ordered scrambled eggs but got over hard. :( Food could have been warmer but grubhub driver did not read delivery instructions. Even my neighbor told her back porch. She did not listen and called me from front saying I am here. NOT!! Then she had her mask on her nose and was cranky. This was my first experience with grubhub and will be my last with them. When I did drive, the restaurant was filthy so I always took my food home--especially hanging decorations. Perhaps back in the day this place was hot and happening but now it looks a bit drab and worn down. But I was determined to get a good corned beef sandwich that day. I ordered the biggest one they offered. It was a bit pricey for my taste, around 10 bucks, but like i said I was determined. The wait wasnt very long.
