I've heard most times this recalibration is not needed, but if it turns out it IS needed, you'd have to take it somewhere else at a cost of $250-$700, or as much as $1,000 at a dealership! No thank you! Especially after the already expensive windshield! My tech was Kyle and, boy, was he sharp! When he arrived he told me it would take around an hour, I believe he finished the windshield installation, recalibration and cleanup in around 30 minutes - no small feat for my big Honda Odyssey on his own - and returned from the test drive in under 10 minutes. It was easy to pay with any type of credit card, even AmEx, and all told I think it was about 40 minutes. The owner, Steve, was a pleasure to talk to, as was Kyle, A couple of easygoing guys. I definitely made the right choice! And, if ever I have the need again, I will probably only be putting out a call for one quote ... from MasterTech.

I had initially scheduled an appointment with them to service my own car around the end of 2023. I had some scheduling conflicts and had to cancel my appointment. I tried to follow up with them to reschedule via text, I got no response. Fast forward to June of this year, I called their listed phone number a few times and got no answer. I finally got a response from them when I reached out via email. The owner stated that they would not service me due to my prior cancellation, which I was very disappointed to hear. It was almost like they were intentionally not answering my calls, and when I asked if the owner could please reconsider I was yet again ignored! A direct answer or formal disclaimer would have been much appreciated during the time of my initial cancelled appointment so I wouldn't have wasted my time! I was pretty surprised they refused to service to me, as I believed I gave enough notice ahead of time and wanted to reschedule my initial appointment. S*** happens! Sometimes people have to cancel appointments and reschedule. I feel like they didn't communicate any disclaimer/warning about cancellations whatsoever. I hope going forward they alert clients about this policy as it was extremely unprofessional. Or maybe ask for a percentage of the fee as an initial deposit to hold your appointment date? I would have gladly paid it! I'm definitely frustrated with the situation but I'm taking my business elsewhere to a more direct, and professional servicer.

Then, after a few days, I heard it couldn't source the correct windshield for one of the most popular sedans in the US. A second company didn't return my call. O'Toole confirmed the auto glass I needed, let me know they didn't have it in stock, then called me shortly afterward to say they'd located it. I have been in the car business all my life and have had hundreds of windshields replaced over the years. Most guys use a "jackhammer" to cut through the old sealant which can easily leave hidden damage. Not these guys! They did it the right way, taking there time cutting it out with minimal mess and even cleaned up after! One of the installers has been a windshield guy for 42 years! This is a family run company, I dealt with Kevin for the job and Mary at the office. I received Kevin's info from a contractor on an unrelated job at my rehab. I pointed at my foggy busted seals and glass that needed replacing, he said if you're still collecting estimates I can give you a name of a guy that does really good work. Of course I was in. I knew I needed at least ten pieces of new glass, two were decent but far from perfect. I knew the measurement of the glass is was standard, so that kept the price down. He gave me a ballpark by phone and said if that was good he'd have to come out to verify, I had him out the next day, and placed the order. Scheduling was easy, and because of a personal matter I had to reschedule, they were very understanding and accommodating. They arrived on time, and the job was completed easily, timely, and cleanly. I had one of the doors that wasn't rolling well, Kevin fixed that also. They couldn't have been nicer to deal with. I wouldn't hesitate having them back in if the need comes up and I'm considering some solar shades for some of the glass that they do. Sorry Chicago people, this is for my STL home.
