I can live without AC for a while, but my cat was lethargic and dehydrated, so I needed to either get it fixed right away or find someplace to board the cat until the apartment wasn't meltingly hot and humid. I called the building management company and a zillion D.C.-based repair companies first thing Tuesday when I got back, but none of them had openings. I called Alliance at around 11:30, and they said they had someone in the area with an opening between 1 and 3. That was way sooner than anyone else had promised, so I readily accepted. The dispatcher called back ten minutes later saying the guy had finished early and could be over within half an hour, if that was convenient for me. Twenty minutes later, he was there. Major points for quick response and actively trying to help me quickly. Scott diagnosed the problem as a drain clog within about 30 seconds and had my air running again within half an hour. He also patiently answered my questions about repair and maintenance (this is my first time living in a building with central air) and provided a written quote for the routine twice-yearly cleaning he said would prevent the problem in the future. He was polite, quick and knowledgeable, and made sure to clean up any dirty water drips that got elsewhere in the apartment. Dropped a star because their base visit rate is $120, which was a little steeper than some other local places - then again, they were also the only company to actually get out here within a reasonable time frame. I was happy to pay it and am now basking in my icy air conditioned apartment!

Fortunately we hadn't had any issues with it but we thought it would be best to get it replaced BEFORE we had problems. Nick came to our house on Monday and checked out our old furnace... gave me a quote... and by Friday morning (today) we have a brand new furnace installed. Nick and Chris were really courteous, personable and sincerely a pleasure to work with. I barely noticed they were going in and out of the house, despite the fact that they had to maneuver around 2 dogs to get in and out the door. I was really nervous about arranging to have something like this done because sometimes it can be such a terrible experience to have contractors in your home and just dealing with the whole process... but Nick literally made this experience as easy as possible. It was so laid back and pain-free. Highly recommend calling this company for HVAC work and definitely suggest asking for Nick for your estimate and installation.

Unit runs great, for the sake of the warranty, we decided to still hire them for maintenances, this year a young tech came to check out unit, found out refrigerant low, so thought about maybe the cold temperature, so he came back in a hot day, still low refrigerant, he told me there is not possible for a two year old new AC , he said he had to call experienced tech with more tool to check out, since that, no one responds to me, after a dozen times to make a schedule, still no one come, the desk receptionist is terrible to answer to phone call and schedule. The owner and tech there seems like very nice people, especially Daniel. I just do not know what happens to them, lack of management? too much demand? or just careless.

Graves due to their good reviews online, even though they weren't the closest to my house. They were able to send out John on short notice. He explained the problem and fixed it quickly, did some preventative maintenance work, and then went over what I can do to maintain my HVAC system better. He then offered a twice-a-year inspection service at a very reasonable price (especially these days!) that I signed up for the same day. They even gave me a discount for combining it with the service call. I'm very happy with R.E. Graves and would recommend them to anyone.

(After I had to give personal information regarding the health of my asthmatic child). I have received no call or update yet about anything and the house is more than unbearable. If you have a choice - stay FAR away from them. I'm surprised they have any amount of stars over just 1.

Our technician was professional, friendly and knowledgable. He recommended repairs and service on initial visit. They did have to order parts but they arrived with a day or two and all service was done quickly. It's been 3 months now and our HVAC has been working perfectly over these hot months. The value was very reasonable and absolutely worth the price knowing they did it right. We'll to use Fixed Right and highly recommend them to anyone wanting it fixed right the first time.

The part was to be ordered and the "front office" would be in touch. The glaring issue I had was that I was never kept in the loop. I had to email for an update days later because I wasn't called. They stated via email the date the part should be there. When that date came and went, I had to file a complaint with my home warranty company to get an accurate date from him (that I heard because I was on the other line). When the dates he relayed to my company came and went with no update to me or them, I had to bail. The company tried to reach back out to him before reassigning and he never picked up nor responded back. He didn't have the common courtesy to let me know anything nor apologize for the constant slide in the dates. Instead, he just ghosted....never to be heard from again. I feel the entire interaction was very unprofessional. Not to mention, the price that was quoted was much more expensive than what I got the system replaced for by another company (by approx. $1500). The new contractor actually laughed at both estimates that were given to me by On Q Services to replace or repair. As a woman, I feel I was being taken advantage of. I do not recommend.

My dad knew he didn't need a brand new roof, nor could he afford it, but other companies only offered to do that. A to Z were willing and according to my dad, who again was in the business and knows his stuff, they were prompt, professional, did good work, cleaned up well (circled the house with a large magnet after to ensure any stray nails were picked up) and most importantly, did all this for a very fair price (as my dad knows exactly what is a good price because he did roofing himself for 40 years). He asked me to give A to Z Roofing a glowing review on behalf of my parents.
