I work in medical field, Dr Guzman is very a caring physician and I appreciate his "analogy explanations".... his staff are great as well! My entire family is under his care! read more

I know that I posted a review some years ago but I felt that I needed to reiterate how blessed I am to have Dr Guzman as my famiy's doctor. I'm a bit older now so I'm having to deal with tests and specialist and all sorts of things that I've never had to before and it's all been incredibly frustrating. Thank God that I have Dr Guzman, his staff, and especially Maxine to help me get through this. You won't find anyone who goes to the lengths that they do for their patients like the Guzmans. read more

Dr. Guzman and his entire office are amazing. Getting medical help during the pandemic has been a challenge, especially as a new patient. Dr. Guzman's office made it easy, fast and extremely responsive. Dr Guzman is accessible and very responsive to concerns and patient needs. You need a good family doctor look no further. read more

Dr. Guzman is like no other doctor I've ever met. He is so humble and knows his stuff. He takes his time to explain in great detail making u feel like you're family. I'm so impressed with him and his wonderful staff super professional. I completely trust he has my best interest. Total 100% respect him AND the topper.... wait for it...he speaks Spanish.... so sexy!!!! read more

I have had excellent medical care by Dr. Guzman and his staff. Dr. Guzman has been my primary care physician for the past 15 years. He is thorough and takes the time to explain my medical issues and follows up with making the necessary referrals as well as the results. They are usually able to accommodate same day appointments when needed. Over time each of my children as well as my spouse have also received excellent care. I am highly sa read more

Dr. Guzman is the best physician. He explains everything clearly and is very kind and compassionate. He gives our family the best care, and we highly recommend him. read more

Awful, Deplorable, abject failure to respond. This doctor will not help you when you need it most! After years of insurance with Dr. Guzman as our primary care physician, the office did not bother to return not one or two, but three days of phone messages. Finally when i got through during business hours, they refused to see me because i was in an auto accident and could not pay all fees up front! I offered the responsible party's name, insurance, and adjuster contact numbers, they were not interested even after checking directly with Dr. Guzman.... apparently the oath he took to help, is not as important as reimbursement, or even the time it takes to wait for payment. My family has been going here for years, i will never go. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Guzman for years now. I don't have to go into the office much (Thank God). When I do go in for anything that is bothering me; Dr. Guzman is thorough and empathetic. He doesn't just give a diagnosis and prescribe medicine. He actually takes time to talk to me and explain why I feel the way I feel, what caused it, how to treat it, and always submits referrals immediately. The office staff always listens to me and tries to accommodate my schedule when making appointments. It's rare that you find a Dr. that takes time to listen to your concerns let alone one that tries to avoid having you on numerous medications. I'm very thankful to have such an amazing Dr and staff for my medical needs. read more

Dr.Guzman and his staff are great! I honestly feel very comfortable coming here. Every time I've come here I see my doctor which doesn't sound like much but my previous Dr. always had A PA see me which kind of confused me. He always listens to what your concern is. A good mix of seriousness and humor put me at ease, considering that I've always gotten a little anxious at DR's read more

I feel like after reading the reviews here that we are not even talking about the same person. First off, Dr. Guzman's office staff has always been professional with me. I have never had an issue with overly long office wait times or staff not returning my calls. As for Dr. Guzman himself; I am 100% comfortable with him. I am 60 years old and have been a patient of Dr. Guzman for almost 6 years. I have never had a Doctor in the past willing to spend time actually explaining things. My Son also used to go to Dr. Guzman and was happy with his services. read more

I was in the market for a new primary care physician and I chose Dr. Guzman since his office is close to my apartment. He was extremely unprofessional, condescending, and did not address any of my ailments. It took me over an hour before I even saw him after the front office lost my paperwork. I strongly urge you to choose another doctor and avoid Dr. Guzman at all costs. read more

The office staff is rude! They are unprofessional. Do not know how to bill. I have a PPO and the deductible has been met. Still trying to collect. The back office or billing lady rude. I believe it's the Dr wife. My girls don't like coming and don't like the care they receive. They say he doesn't listen to them. Go somewhere else. Looks to me like they are more worried about money than care! I will be taking them to another provider for now on! read more

Staff waited the day of my appointment upon arrival to say they couldn't verify my insurance and needed to reschedule. First they had 2 weeks to verify my insurance because I made it 2 weeks out. Second, they could have called me before I drove all the way out and wasted gas as well as time off work. Very unprofessional. read more

Dr. Guzman is the primary physician of my teenage children for 4yrs now. He is always very friendly and empathetic. He takes the time to explain everything so they understand as well as myself. I have never had a problem getting appointments, especially when urgent problems arise. The staff is friendly and helpful. read more

Dr. Guzman has been my personal physician for approximately 25 years, and I have always had a great rapport with him. He does a great job of getting to the route of whatever is ailing you. He is very knowledgeable and is never one to try and rush you out of his office like other Doctors do. He takes whatever time is necessary so you know what is going on. He explains everything as throughly as possible. I have always been very comfortable as his patient. Also his staff is very accommodating and usually will see myself or a family member on several hrs notice if we have an urgent medical issue, and that is always greatly appreciated. read more

I don't know what people are saying about this doctor. He is great!!! Gives you all the information without you even asking, and willing to answer any questions you have. Great doctor, from someone living away from home. read more

the staff and dr has dropped the ball on me so many times on follow up procedures and when i needed surgery i had it out with him and called the provider and told them on more than a few occasions of poor follow through i have left this dr after years of the same old same old. His defense is to blame everything on everyone else.Takes alot to anger me to the point i was with this guy.once it took over a year to get a heart procedure because they dropped the ball , 7 months another one. This is not the guy you want taking care of you if your having problems. He is fine for in house calls that need no follow up.His manner of Childish temper has shown more than once if you question him about things is crazy. If he does not have time to do follow ups ,he should cut his list to healthy patients .Really i admit i lost it with this guy .I have several other wonderful drs i see them and thir staffs are a mile above what goes on here. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. He is highly unprofessional, condescending, and has a fragile ego it seems. I came with my mother for a simple reason. He took so long to just get to the point. He starts explaining the biochemistry and biology behind the ailment which is great if you're a professor but it's unnecessary! Just tell the patient what they need to do, what their ailment is, be polite, and that's it. His mood changes from being nice to insulting in a manner of minutes while he's talking to you. I do not recommend this doctor at all! There are much more competent and mature doctors at the Riverside Medical Clinic. Go elsewhere. I'm never coming to this guy again. read more

His office personnel is the worst I've ever dealt with very rude and un-caring not to mention the pricing will never use his office and will let everyone know read more

I was extremely disappointed to hear that my husband who suffers from anxiety among other health conditions was denied medical attention today by Dr Guzman. I have been pushing my husband to get the help he needs to live a better and healthier life and when he finally took the step forward to make an appointment to finally seek the care he needs I was ecstatic with joy that finally we could move onto a better path. Today 3/4/16 when he was scheduled to see Dr Guzman after a short consultation without warning in the middle of the visit he denies further assistance to help my husband and tells him to leave, then says he's calling our insurance to remove himself as my husband's physician for any future assistance. I don't understand why the bipolar treatment one minute he cares and the next he snaps. I'm extremely hurt and disgusted from Dr Guzman's behavior today, it's not only my husband that suffers but it's also his family that's suffering along with him. Thanks for nothing read more

this practice is poorly ran, over an hour to two hour wait in the waiting room at all times, including a single injection apt that is done by a nurse(you dont even see the dr). always over book themselves to where they are rushing room to room. ive never in my life seen such horrible customer service in my life . these woman are here in important times in there lives, and this office makes you feel nothing but uncomfortable. a practice this size needs to be managed i such a higher manner. the problem is not the dr himself, he is a fantastic surgeon but the bed side manor or lack of for these woman 1-40 weeks pregnant or any other reason you may be there does not deserve the lack of ability to run this office. i'm thoroughly disappointed in how this practice is choosing to run i office, because you are going to continue to lose loyal patients. id advise to anyone reading this to go anywhere else in port charlotte/punta gorda / north port but dr guzmans office!!!!!!!!!!! this practice is way to big for its patient base and you feel like your just 1-484836596 other people and they dont really care about you. and to me no matter how big your patient base you still treat all patients with the same time and respect, that does not happen at this office. you are just another dollar sign to them. read more
