After the first guy claimed to have fixed the issue, in a matter of hours our AC stopped working again. The second guy that came out that same afternoon to fix our AC was awesome! I used Guy Smith today to check on my AC unit for downstairs. Last summer we used another company and they did a temporary fix to make it blow cold air, but it only lasted a few months. This time, we found some pretty good reviews for Guy Smith and decided to give them a call. Brian, the technician, was honest, gave me our options, suggested what he would do, even let me see the problems for myself. By the way, we called this morning, and they came out right away. That's a bonus! Anyway, he was helpful and friendly and in the end we decided it was best to replace the whole unit. We got a great price for it and they even waived today's fee for us. They are also replacing our unit tomorrow, so super convenient! I'd say they are a great company to work with if you're having issues with your AC or heat. read more

Technician blew out condensate drain lines - total charge of $375. The overflow pan had a bunch of debris in it, he did not even bother to clean it out so the outlet would not clog. Then gave an estimate for various repairs that totaled $1200. One of these repairs was to level the unit for another $212, or replace the condensate secondary pan for $800, and another $281 to put an overflow switch in. In summary, the work that day for $375 accomplished nothing. Water continued to leak out of the corner of the unit that same evening. When i spoke the office, I let them know i was not happy that they left the property without fixing the issue, or doing anything to keep water from dripping into the ceiling. I agreed to pay the $212 estimate to level the unit, but was told that would now be another $200 if i did not do the other $1000 estimates. They accomplished nothing except a bloated estimate. So now, the total to fix a condensate drain issue $375 +$412! Don't go there! In the meantime, put up plastic ramp to divert leak into overflow pan. I am out of town, but will find a new contractor or level it myself - not rocket science! - tools required: a level and pinch bar, maybe a hoist. read more

Do yourself a favor - if you need to call an A/C Company, call this one - and better yet, specifically ask for Gerald. Gerald is truly outstanding. Chuck and his technicians were very helpful. We got a couple of other quotes and they beat the price by a couple THOUSAND dollars. They even repaired a shoddy job done by another plumber for a minimal extra fee. They accommodated our schedule and were very prompt. I've used these guys in the past and I just used them again 07/2013. I have to say they treat the customers as pedestrian which wasn't to great however they Did deliver a quality product at a market price. It pays to know the unit you want and tell them to install it. Highest rating for Mr, Jon Schaffer & his team from Guy Smith HVAC. I work with Marine HVAC systems & was looking for a new residential installer/service rep to handle our home needs. I researched replacing our existing heat pump with 4 local companies early in 2019. Jon surveyed our system, evaluated our particular installation and addressed our needs. I appreciated the time he took to address our questions & provide a range of options. His knowledge and experience as a hands on tech rather than simply a sales rep was evident and very much appreciated. Being a dealer for American Standard {Trane} & offering highly rated equipment was a key factor in the decision making process. As such we contracted with Guy Smith to complete the install/upgrade. We has a zoned air handler, condensing unit (heat pump) installed. Additionally we had old flex ducting replaced, new zone valves installed, UV in duct lighting & aero-seal applied to the system. Sip lead the equipment install & Jon performed the final set-up. Significant improvement was noted during the summer months with greatly improved humidity control realized as a result of the set-up implemented by Jon. We currently received a courtesy annual service at no charge & had Jon adjust the air handler speed in the heat pump mode to match that set in the cooling mode. Jon has provided excellent service and support & I would not hesitate to call on him for any future needs. read more

Called them out to the house to take a look at my outdoor condenser unit due to the fan not running. I had already replaced the dual run capacitor, and had a hunch that it would be the fan motor. The tech that came out knew right away that the fan motor was shot. Cool... How much I ask since I already knew it was a $210 motor on amazon, repair clinic, eBay, and every other website. He walks back to his van to see how much this will run me and says $750! What a rip off. I only paid this because it was 90 degrees in my house and my family was dying. Word to the wise... use the internet, and wait it out. These guys are crooks! No explanation for the high price, no documentation... just a "That's the price, you can pay or I get another company." read more

This company was a life saver. My heating and cooling unit to our downstairs broke and we had another company come out and try to fix it and they said it was the compresser that was bad and we needed a whole new unit. Then I called Guy Smith heating and cooling. They came the same day and told me it was not the compresser and I did not need a new unit. They fixed it in an hr and I have heat again..l they saved us 5000 dollars. I highly recommend this company and especially the technician Brian that came to fix my unit. To come home with the thermostat reading that the house is at 97 isn't a good thing especially when it feels better on the outside of the house then the inside. I called several Heating & Cooling companies before coming across Guy Smith, which had a pretty high rating with awesome reviews. Someone answered the phone shortly after it began ringing and assured me that a technician would be calling me shortly. The technician name Norman called and informed me that he would be to my home within an hour. He showed up, introduced himself and then went to work diagnosing the problem. By the time he was done, he knew the issue and had the equipment and parts on hand to resolve my problem. Within the next hr my air was up and running. He also gave me some additional things that I needed to look into in which I did the next day and I was able to get the issue pertaining to my heating system resolved by phone with the security company. He did such an outstanding job that I inquired on a yearly system check-up that they also offered. My fiancée even took me to a resort that Norman mentioned to us for a weekend getaway. I called guy smith heating & cooling to come fix my A/C unit because it was blowing hot. When the technician arrived he spent about 5 minutes looking at the unit before he informed me that I needed another company to check my well pump. He said that was the problem and not the unit itself. I then called the well pump company which charged me $125 to come out and they informed me I need an A/C company. After wasting $125, guy smith heating & cooling sent out another technician that supposedly fixed the problem. The a/c blew cold for 36 hours before completely shutting down. I decided to call a different company to come take a look and get a second opinion. This technician said it was a very obvious fix and that the guy smith heating & cooling technician did not put anything back together on the unit leaving everything all over the place. The technician called guy smith heating & cooling's work "embarrassing". My system has been running perfect ever since the second company came out over a year ago. One week later I received a bill from guy smith heating & cooling for $275 after they failed completely to fix my unit and wasted $125 of my money for nothing as well as left my tenant without a/c for a full week in the middle of August. I refused to pay them so instead they decided to hire a lawyer to collect the $275 that they did not deserve after a full year went by plus added on another $100 for attorney fees. I now owe them $375 for never fixing my a/c unit, leaving everything apart on my unit, and wasting $125 of my money from their original false diagnosis. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE BEYOND UNREASONABLE AND IN MY OPINION FLAT OUT CROOKS! read more

They came around 7pm, treated my problem as an urgency, and had it fixed and was out the door. It was perfect. Excellent company. Our air conditioner was not working. We called two other repair places. One never answered his phone (he may have retired). The other said they could be there in two weeks. We saw good reviews for Guy Smith and decided to give them a call. They answered "How can we make you smile?" and that was their proven philosophy. They could make it the next day, even agreeing to show up at the hour I needed them. Five minutes before the appointed time, they called to say they were en route. The gentleman who came at first seemed young, but definitely knew exactly what he was doing. I managed heavy vehicle mechanical programs, and was impressed by his professionalism and diagnostic approach. Plus he did a great job putting up with me. I had a wonderful experience with Guy Smith. I had trouble all summer with my AC when it got very hot so I wasn't surprised when our heater stopped working right when it got cold last week. I called Guy Smith instead of going through my home warranty like I did all summer. Best decision ever. They sent out on of their tech's, Brian, who came the same day I called. He found a couple minor things and the heat started coming out hotter again but my air flow was still terrible like it has been since the summer. I was told by several other AC/Heat companies that my duct work just had issues and the intake was too small. Instead of leaving after it started coming out hotter Brian went back into my attic to review the duct work and see why I didn't have a stronger airflow. He found out that there was a media filter installed up there that was basically hidden away. Once he removed it and told the unit not to use it our air flow was fantastic! It has kept up without an issue ever since and air flow is finally there. I will be using Guy Smith and asking for Brian from now on! read more
