Near bedtime on the weekend, I heard a rushing noise under the sink. Lots of towels, along with a large bowl to catch any water that might drip, made me feel relatively safe. But by morning the rushing noise could be heard coming down the steps. The towels were soaked & there was water on the floor. The slow drip was now a near flood. The immediate solution was turning off the water valves to the sink and dishwasher & cleaning up the mess. On Monday morning, hearing the drip had progressed, Don said he would send someone right over. And he did! Kendall was pleasant & knowledgeable. The problem was twofold: the mid 80s era Quest shut off valves & the faucet itself. He had the valves in the truck but went out of his way to go out & purchase a faucet & sprayer that would fit the holes in my sink. Thanks Kendall! All was well. Believe it or not, the next day the Quest valve to my vanity toilet failed. I knew it was the shut off valve because it turned so easily. Don & Kendall both came the next day & verified my diagnosis. After they replaced the valve, Don put the stamp of approval on a new toilet that I wanted for the vanity. It's being delivered Sunday. Don & Kendall are coming Monday to install it. After three days of disrupting, energy sucking drying equipment, I requested that they remove the stuff they wanted to leave for an additional two days. The plumber returned, looked at the area and requested that I cut holes in the HVAC ducting so that he can access the leaking drain. At this point I had, had enough and repaired the drain without cutting holes in the HVAC and it took 1.3 hours and $11.00. After a $1500.00 down payment for the drying they are now sweating me for an additional $500+ less than a week after invoicing me. Won't use them again because they just try to milk you and your insurance. Plus, $1200 to install a shower drain? They SUCK!

I did a little research of reviews for HVAC companies in Chesapeake and found Simmons had great ratings. I found quickly why they had 5-stars! My previous HVAC contractor had been out twice and I was left with, " you need a new thermostat" and left with a cold house. That's when I found Simmons. They were very responsive and were out within 8 hours. The technician was very polite, professional and explained everything about the system (since I was unfamiliar with a dual-fuel system). He identified the problem and made the necessary repairs quickly. Having had a great experience then, I put the system under contract with them. Since then they have not let me down. They have kept my system in excellent condition. This week I suddenly had an issue with heat. Called and had a technician here within 3 hours. He got the system working but the next day I had the same issue and on one of the coldest days the system was out again. I called after hours and within 15 minutes had a call back from the on-call tech who said he would be here in 20 minutes. He was. The problem was so minute, a loose connection, but trouble shooting that was a pain for him, but he found the problem within 15 minutes. Simmons is my only HVAC system contractor. I know the age of the existing system and understand it only has a few years left in it. I feel confident that Simmons will keep it running great and when the dreaded day comes, it will be Simmons technicians installing a new system.
