When I called to make the appointment, they didn't bother telling me that another dentist is handling the surgeries, and it wasn't until I received the preliminary paperwork that I found out. And then I learned that he's not covered by my insurance. The difference in price is quite significant, but they were very cavalier about how I spend my money. I wasted precious time in this process. We followed up to accept that resolution, and were then told that Dr. Gorton had "taken the offer off the table." This doctor seriously injured my child, left her treatment unfinished without regard for my daughter's health, and has now withdrawn the refund that was previously offered for treatment that was never completed. The result is that care that took years is now reversing, and we are having to pay additional thousands of dollars to address the damage. Based on our family's experience, the lack of follow-through and reversal of promises and agreements made has made an already devastating situation even worse. Any prospective new patient should be very cautious. Based on our family's experience, when something went seriously wrong, we were left with no meaningful recourse other than formal legal action, and no care for the actual patient and their treatment.

His enthusiasm and passion for dentistry is very obvious, and then, yesterday when I found myself in his chair having a gum grafting procedure over six lower interior teeth, I am happy to report that it was pain-free. He does a procedure many other periodontists steer clear of, (saying it's not possible) called the 'pinhole procedure,' which, instead of flapping the gums back, you make a small tunnel underneath the gum line of the teeth you are grafting, and feed the palatal gum through. It's relatively non-invasive, and the results are spectacular! One day out, I have big fat, beautiful gums, which I know will remodel in the next six months, but I couldn't be happier.
