They were as fast as could be but not because they rush the work-- it's because they are so darn good at it. They are also completely attentive to the fact they are working at your home-- talk about leaving no trace -- I literally didn't find a single piece of debris when they left --my yard was cleaner than when they arrived. I must say, I saw the negative review from the cat who said Mark tried to rip him off --- Mark gives me the impression that he'd rather stick a pencil in his own eye than rip anyone off. The only thing I can think of is that maybe he cut this guy off in the company truck (after all, I'm not qualified to review his driving :) ) This guy takes his responsibilities like a true professional and did my job beyond my expectations for a price that was transparent, well explained and beyond reasonable. I paid a price that was absolutely fair when I agreed to it and absolutely remarkable when I saw the finished work. These guys are a slam dunk--- I truly cannot recommend them robustly enough. I'm redoing my backyard and needed to coordinate his job with some stucco repair and paint work from other subs. After five days of leaving several messages and texts, he gave absolutely no reply. Maybe there was an accident....maybe something happened to their family, etc. Having said that, I figured I would try to call him from a different line than the one I had been previously using to leave messages and texts from. SHOCKER!!! He picked up on the first ring, then proceeded to tell me that he had to go to Mexico because his grandmother had passed away, and he had to deliver her body down there. Wow, that is completely tragic, and I wouldn't want anybody to go through that. He also claimed he would call me back within the hour to firm things up for the next day. Well after 4+ hours, that never happened. He just continued to string me along. Based on a lot of the one-star yelp reviews I read....Somehow, I have the funny feeling that he's had a lot of relatives pass away and have to be delivered down to Mexico. If you're looking for any kind of rain gutter work to be done on your house, Marcelino and the other folks at First Choice may be a good fit for you. If you like being quoted great pricing, then ghosted, lied to, inconvenienced, and left feeling like you completely wasted your time with a moron, then give First Choice a call. Quick response from my inquiry, Ethan came as schedule, took measurements, showed me my options, we agreed on what style I'd go with after him explaining the benefits of sizes and what not. Their guys showed up and appeared to have done a great job. Very cordial, walked through the plan, had a couple options for where to run the spouts which was informative, just overall made me feel comfortable in their profession so I greatly appreciated that about them; thanks guys. I had to leave about 30 min before they finished so I didn't get the opportunity to do the walk around, wasn't a big deal as I walked around randomly as they were doing the job. Next morning I checked it out, nothing out of wack. I did however, picked up a two screws from my driveway and piece of cutout on the side of my home. Not a HUGE deal, but I believe I would have noticed it had we did a final walk through together. This doesn't affect the install itself IMO. Lastly, here's my only tiff about the process. Yes, you can pay with credit card and what seems to be the industry standard of the customer eating the 3/4% charge, not terrible, could be better. And maybe I'm just overly sketched but I don't find it secure filling out a CC Auth form with that kind of info and emailing back to the company over unencrypted waves of the good ole internet. I'd just prefer seeing a payment option that's protected by PCIDSS or other safer, more secure payment options. Zelle is an option but Zelle has its daily/monthly limits and prevented me from making one huge payment; very frustrating, and likely frustrating for the company as well. But we worked through that and I appreciate their patience. Overall, I only recommend places or services I've personally used or witnessed. I would feel confident recommending their services. The end product looks amazing. Yes we living in Southern California and love our sunshine, but I'm looking forward to a good rain to test out the product, and afterwards we can return to the sun :).
