I was in the area and looking for a place to have lunch. The restaurant is on a busy Main Street and there are a few parking spots right in front, but that's it. Walking in, you immediately see the order counter and menu above. To the right is a waiting area and high top tables and seating on the left. I like that you can choose mild, medium or hot sauce to go with your tacos. I ordered an al pastor taco and a birria taco. I was given a number and told that the food would be brought to me. Opposite the open kitchen is another set of high top tables and further back are even more tables and seating. The al pastor taco was on the dry side, but filled to the brim. The meat for the birra taco wasn't shredded and a bit clumpy, but also filled to the brim.

Was in the neighbourhood to do some Boxing Day shopping at Sherway & asked Yelp where a fellow might find some tacos. Thankfully it brought me to Gus's. I dunno if the pun of gusta is in there but it would fit. Physically it's so bright & white it's painful, and accessibility wise there's a lot of steps involved if you need to visit the restroom. Food wise it's a delight. A well filled, crispy/juicy taco and a delicious torta were my meal. The hot sauce included is, well, hot. Which is not bad but perhaps more than I expected from a suburban taco joint. Definitely good. if i ever return with a meal mate we'll start with some chips & guac.

Gus Tacos has finally arrived in suburbia! This location used to be where Ghost Kitchen was. We went once and were underwhelmed (cool concept though). One time whole driving by, I noticed that GK was gone so was very curious to know what would come next. Then on Gus Taco's IG, they had mentioned a new location opening up. They just opened today, May 7. As the weather is so gross, the place was not too busy. The decor is identical to their Parkdale location so this might be Gus Tacos' "look." It's not conveniently accessible by TTC, but there's a parking lot on site so easy if you're driving to here. We ordered tacos along with guacamole and chips. Pollo, Pastor, Astor, Asada, and Camaron were the taco proteins. The asada was the best; however, next time I am trying birria tacos. As for the guacamole and chips, they were meh. Good for: Mexican, taco, quesadilla

My review for this place could not wait lol. I just finished eating and it was SO good. It was pretty busy at the lunchtime hour on a Thursday but I was able to get my order fairly quickly. I ordered 2 birria tacos and birria broth. Each taco was $5 and the broth was $4.50. While these birria tacos weren't fried and didn't have any cheese they were still so good and flavourful. Even on their own without dipping in the broth, they were really good. The broth was the star of the show. I defs drank the whole cup lol could not let that go to waste. The tacos dipped in the broth are *chefs kiss. Amazing combo. I've had other consommé and they were all bland. Gus's broth is the kind of broth I have been looking for and what I would expect a birria broth to taste like. I can't wait to come back and try other tacos but I might just find myself ordering the same thing. =P

This was an absolutely fantastic burrito. After tax it was around 13.50 which some will see as expensive, and others will see as incredibly reasonable. Toronto used to be full of giant burritos that were too difficult to eat in one sitting, but then they became a rarity and the size of the burritos became smaller and smaller and smaller. But not this one. There are no decisions to be made aside from what sauce you want, so if customization is your thing that won't be for you. And, the sauce comes in a cup on the side which makes adding it after the fact difficult. Do you dip and risk spilling everything? Or, do you unwrap and risk never being able to see it up again? But, the thing that really makes this stand apart is that all the meats are the same price. If you want a lamb burrito, which I did, it's no more expensive than a ground beef one. That alone might make the ground beef one seem expensive, and the lamb ones seem of value. I'll let you make up your own mind on that? This is definitely worth checking out.

Gus Tacos was an amazing experence. I order two tacos one Pastors and the other one was Fish. Pastors was full of flavor, and you can tell it was well seasoned over night. you didn't get a choice of what goes on the tacos but I didn't mind. The fish taco I feel was not my favorite compared to the pastors. I would say I already have a favorite. but the portion of fish was fully loaded. My only wish was as it was opened layered

Nice clean new Business. They specialize in more authentic Mexican cuisine. I ordered two beef tacos and two chicken tacos. I also had the hot sauce. I can tell you for sure that the chicken tacos are a lot more yummy than the beef ones... And the hot sauce is definitely hot so make sure you like hot. Also a little salsa and sour cream would've really sent this over the top however they don't serve them like that. All in all I will be back to get takeout and bring my own sour cream. Recommend a try.

Gus tacos are an absolute staple. They're cheap and have a wide variety of options. I do wish they had their shrimp tacos at all locations as I am yet to try those. I also wish they had a vegetarian birria option as I couldn't try the beef birria broth my boyfriend got. The tacos are amazing. I get their fish and mushroom every time. I got the chicken one for the first time and it was also amazing. The salsas are all also amazing. Only good things to say about this place!

    Yeah! Opens tomorrow

So happy to see GUS come to Browns Line. This stretch could use some better food options. Burritos and tacos A+ Portions are on smaller side; so order accordingly. Check it out!!!

One of the better fish tacos I've had, the fish was was perfectly cooked. Everything else was good.

When I went to the basement washroom, I swear I saw what looked like the end of a mouse's tail sticking out from under the door. Needless to say, I completely lost my appetite. When the waiter asked how everything was, I told him honestly that it was terrible. I had only taken two bites, and there was really no response. I wouldn't have wanted a replacement anyway after that experience. I also had some fruit bites, and about 10 minutes later my stomach started gurgling. By the time I got home, I felt awful. I was shivering, felt like I was going to throw up, and had to rush to the bathroom. It honestly felt like food poisoning. And I still paid for my meal Unfortunately, I can't recommend this place.

The place is a bit small so it can be a bit tight so I would highly recommend having reservations if you have a large group. Tacos: The soft and the crispy tacos were both delicious. The tinga chicken and the beef barbacoa were juicy and full of flavour. The portions was fair, the quality was a standout and tasted quite authentic. Overall, I really had a great experience at Playa Cabana, totally would come here again to try out their other dishes.

My wife and I just recently completed our 4th visit to this Michelin-starred masterpiece. We did make the mistake this time of sitting at the Chef's Counter in the middle of summer with the fire grills going, but it's such an amazing experience to watch them all be pros at what they do that it makes you forget about the sweat. Sitting at the bar is also equally fun with the engaging bartenders. The service and the ambiance of the long, corridor-like place is just incredible. The darker lit atmosphere gives it a really intimate but welcoming feel. And every server or bartender or chef we've talked to there has been equally friendly, knowledgeable, and down to earth. We also absolutely love the fact that virtually everything is naturally gluten free (perfect for those with celiac!). This time around, we got the mushroom and shishito peppers (I don't even like mushrooms with the firm texture but these ones were insanely tender I would happily eat them whenever), tuna tiradito, empanada, and bone marrow and shrimp (not sure we've ever had bone marrow before or that we'd get it again, but it was definitely an interesting flavor and not a disappointment in the least). We also had a solo regular sit next to us who happily gave us a piece of his tlayuda which was maybe the best of what we got the entire night. Dessert was the coconut nicuatole, which was the perfect cherry (or pineapple) on top of another perfect dinner. In the past, we've also heavily enjoyed the scallop ceviche and coal roasted sweet potato and our friend also raved about the whole seabream. Their cocktails are also on point and the tasting menu with drink pairing is also hugely fun but come ready to leave stuffed because it's a LOT. Best restaurant ever and I can't wait to go back again!

The bluefin tuna was pristine, buttery, and incredibly fresh, while the char-grilled octopus was perfectly tender with a beautiful smoky depth of flavor. The ensalada verde was bright, crisp, and refreshing, offering a perfect contrast between courses. The standout for me was the hanger steak, cooked beautifully and paired with a rich peppercorn sauce that elevated every bite. Beyond the outstanding food, the service was impeccable--attentive, knowledgeable, and perfectly paced without ever feeling intrusive. Quetzal is a Michelin star experience that lives up to the acclaim, delivering bold flavors, refined execution, and genuine hospitality. An unforgettable meal and a restaurant I would gladly return to.
