Engaging Gurr Brothers after our house flood on October 18 has been a nightmare. While seemingly pleasant, their work was marred by unprofessionalism, unresponsiveness, and disorganization. Missed appointments became routine, with at least five instances where they simply didn't show up or even inform us in advance, wasting entire days we had blocked off. Communication is abysmal, with entire messages ignored and two-plus day response times being the norm if they do respond. Sub-contractors performed poor work, the plumbing wasn't fixed until we specifically asked for it to be repaired, and even then, the sub-contractor didn't fully fix the pipe causing the kitchen to reflood. Even project managers were overwhelmed and uninformed - Tyler, our first PM, confessed he couldn't recall our project details and approved shoddy work that Trent, his replacement, had to completely redo (including all baseboard and drywall) on December 5th. Trent promised completion by Christmas and assured us carpets would be ordered based on a sample. As of today, December 19th, we're still waiting for communication and the carpets haven't been ordered. Delays in construction are inevitable, but Gurr Brothers' pattern of overpromising and underdelivering, coupled with their blatant disregard for our time and concerns, is unacceptable. I was unaware of Gurr Brothers Construction, until they were sent to me by Doan Restoration who was leading the water remediation process at my home after a slab leak. During the process, the Gurr Brothers team coordinated literally everything, including packing / storing my furniture, tearing out damaged floors and drywall, plumbing, then rebuilding. The project went exactly as planned, except for a new bathtub that I ordered, arrived with a crack. Knowing that as a consumer, I'd likely struggle to find a replacement tub quickly, the Gurr Brothers team jumped to action, and found a new tub (a nicer one than I had ordered) that was delivered in less than a week. Communication was always proactive, so I knew who would be arriving at what time each day. The team was never late, and completed their tasks on time. They all took care of my home as if it were their own. In the end, the project was done incredibly timely and you would never know that there was a slab lead that damaged 1/3 of my home. I hope that I never have any more major damage to my home, but if I ever have a major renovation project, I won't look anywhere else. I highly recommend Gurr Brothers Construction. I cannot say enough positive things about this company. Our house had mold and water damage. This has been a very frustrating time for us, thank God we are working with Gurr Brothers! They literally have a guy for any trade imaginable. Taylor has been my main point of contact, alongside Martin. Taylor has outstanding customer service skills & his response time is impeccable! He maintains a professional attitude, and cares about his clients by constantly touching base through this whole process. Brandon installed our brand new cabinets & they are so nice! We have a few things left to do, & Taylor is still reaching out, making sure every angle is covered & I am satisfied. Whoever hired Taylor understands they need to have someone running all of these jobs that can juggle different types of people. I am not an easy person to please, and so far, Taylor has accomplished this. Martin also really understands that customer service is important. We hired Gurr Brothers to do a full remodel on our home. We wanted to upgrade our apartment-grade carpet, vinyl flooring, baseboards, paint, kitchen cabinets, & master bathroom. After the initial meeting with Taylor Rundle I was immediately contacted by Martin, their Customer Service Manager. Both Taylor & Martin were amazing at communicating with me throughout the entire process & ensuring all my questions were answered, even late in the day & on weekends. Almost our entire 1,700sqft house was demoed & completed within 3 months!!! We now have upgraded carpet in all bedrooms, tile flooring throughout our kitchen, living area, hallway(s), laundry room & bathroom(s), pretty white farmhouse cabinets in our kitchen that match our bathroom vanities, 5-inch beautiful baseboards & a beautiful walk-in tile shower. I am amazed at how fast they were able to get everything completed & with no complaints (I'm pretty detail-oriented/difficult) from me! We found that we had some interior leaking from our ceiling that we needed to get fixed as soon as possible. So we gave Gurr Brothers a call. Sam informed us that we would also need water damage mitigation service, for which he suggested a great company, before getting our roof replaced. Gurr Brothers was great about communicating, Rebecca would give a call anytime there was an update, and Sam was in touch throughout the process as well. They did the roof in one day! I couldn't believe it, I walked out of the house the next day and it was entirely done! The only reason the interior repair work wasn't done in a day was because the ceiling had to dry, but that work was done quickly and proficiently as well. All of the work done looks fantastic. The pricing was completely fair, and they are willing to work with our family in these financially trying times. We were one of the unfortunate few that were impacted by the heavy rains of Hurricane Rosa. We woke up to a large roof leak in our game room. From the instant I contacted the Gurr Brother's they have been nothing but attentive and professional. Sam and his team quickly came to the rescue the morning of the water intrusion. They stopped any further damage to my home by inspecting the roof and immediately setting up a dehumidifier to start the process of repairing my home. They know the value and sentiment a home has to a person. Especially, when in a middle of a crisis. Over the course of a week a witnessed his team come together to repair my home. Their work is absolutely top notch. They are careful and respectful of your home and schedule. This is of the upmost importance to me since I both have a family with young children and I work nights. We had a roof rat hole in our upstairs toilet plumbing pipe that damaged our pantry and pantry/dining room walls on the first floor. Gurr Brothers immediately started demo and restoration. Brandon Gurr and Taylor Rundle were our supervisors and handled everything with speed and professionalism. They also worked very well with our insurance company. Martin from the customer service team helped to get everything sceduled quickly. Ned with Salt River Restoration completely cleaned, sanitized, disinfected all mold areas and did a excellent and thorough job with all the demo. Kitchen and Bath Plumbing came immediately and also did a great job quickly repairing the pipe, stopping the leak. All final shelving, dry wall, paint and trim work was done by Regino. I had a broken hose on my washing machine that flooded my home. Doan Restoration was the remediation company and did a good job. They referred me to Gurr Brothers Construction, and I was happy with the work when they showed up. I was impressed that they cleaned up after themselves each day. My only issue was communication was a weak link and I had to call to find out what was going to happen. I thought I had ordered flooring and was told it would take about two weeks to get. Three weeks later I got a call from the flooring guy asking me to pick out what I wanted. The new order took 30 days and I lost a month in the process. I was up against a deadline and they pulled through at the end. I felt all the workers were quality folks and I was treated with respect with the exception of not being kept in the loop. I would recommend them but have a meeting with the job supt. on the front-end to get a schedule of what would happen and when. read more

I did my research on local companies that perform this type of work and can help me with my insurance claim since this is the first time I have ever had to go through this process. I chose to call Gurr Brothers and I must say, it was the best decision I could have ever made! Martin was prompt to get our superintendent Taylor R out for the inspection, they both explained the process and what to expect moving forward, worked with my insurance to get the money needed to do the work, communicated with me almost DAILY, and even set a timeline for the work and then beat it. Sam, Rebecca, and the Gurr Brothers crew were absolutely outstanding! My fiancé and I are first time home owners, we really didn't have a clue what steps we needed to take to replace our roof. My shower was leaking in the wall and had to be completely removed. Gurr Brothers and team helped us with getting an estimate approved from insurance and then scheduled repairs to begin immediately. Taylor, the superintendent provided a detailed list of days and times to expect work to be performed and Martin from the office would follow up weekly checking in to make sure things were running smoothly. Taylor would come check the progress any time workers were at my home doing the repairs and always called me with updates and courtesy reminders before they would show up. Martin was always on top of making sure the process was moving along and called me no less than once a week to check in (most of the time it was twice a week!) ur guest bathroom in our house had flooded, so with a quick google search and recommendation from the restoration company we decided to choose Gurr Brothers. We got in contact with Taylor Rundle, and from the moment we talked to him in this stressful time of a flooded bathroom he was very quick to help us out, he even came out the SAME day! Taylor was very knowledgeable about everything that was going on and was quick to start taking measurements of our bathroom as well as take pictures, and start the estimate process to send in to insurance. The process was very quick and easy with Gurr brothers and now our bathroom is put back together, and looks better then before! Had hail damage from a recent storm and I called my agent and they put me in touch with Gurr Brothers to come out and inspect my roof. After Martin contacted me to set up the inspection Matt & Sam both came out and walked me through the process and put me at ease about everything. Once I filed my claim Matt met my adjuster and provided him with an estimate. Having never filed a claim before I with extremely impressed with the professionalism the entire Gurr Brothers team showed. My claim was approved and I was put on the schedule quickly to have the repairs done. The crews showed up on time and stayed late throughout the whole process. There are different divisions of Gurr Brothers that deal with different parts of an issue. I had a roof leak which required two separate sets of repairs which they have been involved with (one for the roof outside, and one for the ceiling inside the house). I dealt with Alexis for the exterior repairs on my leak and she was excellent. Very timely with her responses and information. Whenever I texted asking for an update she provided me with exactly the information that I needed. In fact, my roof wasn't scheduled to be repaired for another few days but a crew got done with another job early and she asked them to come to my house to handle my job early. I'm still in process on the rest of the repair but I can say that my experience with Alexis and Gurr Brothers was as great as you can ask for when you're trying to coordinate with your insurance company. read more

I must give kudos where it's due with contractors! I'm usually skeptical & very cautious with dealings. I HATE chasing down people & getting stabby with them but I will. My water heater had a slow leak & caused some sweet water damage to my garage drywall & inside my master closet wall/carpet! Edge Restoration dried it out & sent Gurr Brothers Construction to repair my drywall & replace the carpet. It was a seamless process throughout. Sam from Gurr Brothers showed up, kept me in the loop of when & who to expect @ my house & stayed in constant communication of plumbing, drywall & carpet people that were dropping by. Although a bit of a nightmare to have your houses gutted for a while?!? I couldn't be more impressed with the way it was handled & for them to deal with my Homeowner's Insurance too. What these folks do, they do well. We had a catastrophic failure of an upstairs toilet flange and once demolition was done, we were left with an upstairs bathroom that had no tile, subfloor, toilet and bath, nor a kitchen ceiling or light. After 83 days (including time for demo, clean up, and weeks of delays on our home insurance's part), it looks like nothing ever happened and we wound up with a better tub and toilet than we started with! Cons: (because nobody's perfect) We were warned out the gate that due to our location, scheduling would be tough and it was worse than I expected. Perhaps this is common for this industry but keep in mind this was our first experience with anything like this. Overall: I would recommend this company for the amazing job they did in giving us back our bathroom and kitchen. read more

Being a first time homeowner I wasn't prepared for our water heater to leak right after we moved in. After the restoration company was done doing their dry out we were put in touch with Gurr Brothers to help put our house back together again. Matt was scheduled to come out and actually met our insurance adjuster on the same day. Matt even stayed afterward to go over the estimate out adjuster gave us and took the time to answer any questions and concerns we had. Matt had his crew scheduled in short order and they were on time and you can't even tell where the repairs were needed. I couldn't be happier with Matt and his crews for their constant communication throughout the process and always making us feel like we were a priority. I was in need of some roof repairs and my neighbor across the street suggested Gurr Brothers I said do you trust them and he said I wouldn't have suggested them to you if I didn't, [makes sense] anyhow I had two quotes from other companies and decided why not, so my neighbor called Sam and he came out right away, looked over my whole roof, not an upsell, just an inspection, and gave me a very reasonable quote. I went with them and they were great, punctual, reasonable, professional and they worked all day in 105 heat and finished what I needed done. Afterwards a very nice girl called from the office called to see how it all went and to make sure I was satisfied. Sam then came back out to show me pictures and follow up himself.
