Not only did I see Dr. Han at my scheduled time (instead of waiting 40 minutes like a lot of other doctors in the area) but he spent a total of 50 minutes with me going over my issues. He recommended another specialist in the building and even walked down with me to go see them. He kept saying "I'm very honest, not trying to be rude..." which I never felt at all - tell people what they need to know, not what they want to hear. I hope I'll be able to use Dr. Han with some of my mouth issues, after spending a little time with him I absolutely trust him.

I'm pretty sure they were re-evaluating their purchase of the practice after seeing me that first day, but they immediately put me at ease. They listened, understood my history, and made me feel completely safe and comfortable. Soon after meeting them, one of my old veneers (from a childhood snow-sledding accident) came loose. They saw me right away and when it became clear the veneer wouldn't hold anymore, they transitioned me to a crown, coordinating everything with my insurance. It looks completely natural -- and they even took me outside in natural daylight to match the color perfectly instead of the office lights. Brilliant! BU Dental believes that a healthy mouth makes for a healthy body. They practice holistic dentistry, looking at the whole person -- not just your teeth -- and how oral health connects to overall wellness, nutrition, and lifestyle. I never realized the connection but now it totally makes sense to me. Patty at the front desk deserves her own gold star -- she's always cheerful, smart, and a total pro at navigating insurance. I once stopped by when the office was closed on a Friday and saw them donating their time and money to help a gentleman with extensive dental issues. Apparently they regularly give back by working with oral surgeons and other practitioners to assist veterans, seniors, challenged and indigent patients in our community that nobody ever knows about except the person receiving the treatment. Bottom line- I respect their core beliefs, they are genuine nice people who happen to be really talented at what they do.

Dr. Yen is an honest and straight forward man. I appreciated his gentle humor and his understanding of how I feel in the situation. When I asked him for a simple extraction, he told me that he would try. He then told me that more than likely, my tooth would shatter and require more attention. He told me what I could expect and he explained the whole process. Dr. Yen numbed me and made sure that I was completely numb. He frequently checked to ensure that I was feeling no pain and he went about his work quickly. He also kept communicating with me the whole time which I appreciated. It was a welcome distraction from what was going on inside my mouth. I recommend Dr. Yen to anyone requiring dental surgery.

I called, made an appointment, took her in, he removed the three wisdom teeth, we were done in under an hour. Great job. However, when I got the post-insurance invoice, it had a line item for "CHUN:D9310:Consultation" dated the day before the extraction. Not only was there never any Consultation, certainly not the day before the appointment, but when I called to request it be removed, they refused. The billing lady claimed it did happen, I was there and know it didn't happen - and yet she refused to remove this fraudulent charge. Dr. Yen is fine - but beware beware beware - his office will charge you and your isurance company for fraudulent non-existent line items.

Years went by and then they started bothering me on and off. After a routine cleaning from my dentist, one of my wisdom teeth really bothered me and I was referred to Dr. Attia's team. I called and they were able to schedule me on the same day for a consultation (Tuesday). The staff are very friendly and professional. Everyone at the office had a smile and were patient. X-ray was done on site and a smooth, quick process. I thought I might have needed the extraction that same day but Dr. Attia did a thorough assessment and reassured me that it could be done later. I was scheduled 2 days later for the extraction. I needed all 4 removed so I was sedated. Dr Attia and his team provided clear instructions, including a print out, of how to prepare for the procedure and what to expect afterwards, including driving and home care instructions. They answered all my questions clearly and were available by text/phone, providing helpful reminders. The sedation and extractions went smoothly, all done within an hour, without any issues. They provided a very detailed and helpful handout on what to expect hours and days after the procedure, and how to mitigate pain, swelling, bleeding, etc. I had a follow up one week after my appointment when Dr. Attia checked that things were healing well and he shared some details about my procedure and how wisdom teeth. Dear Dr. Tran, As someone who has always been anxious about dental work--and who has had more than a few bad experiences in the past--I wasn't sure what this journey would be like. But from the very beginning, you showed me a level of care, patience, and respect that completely changed how I feel about going to the dentist. Dr. Nakamura placed my implants with surgical expertise, but it was you who crafted the prosthetics and carried me through the entire process. Over the course of a year and countless appointments--some where I sat in tears--you never once made me feel like a burden. You answered every single question (even the ones I'm sure no one else asks) with kindness and clarity. You understood my "extra" sensitivities, the ones I can't control, and always made space for them with compassion. Your staff is just as wonderful--warm, professional, and a true delight to see at every visit. I've referred friends and family to you, and hearing how happy they've been with their own care only reaffirms what I already know: you are truly exceptional at what you do. So yes, this is a love letter, because gratitude doesn't feel like enough. Thank you, Dr. Tran, for not only restoring my smile but also my trust. With heartfelt appreciation, ~Theresa
