He kept saying "I'm very honest, not trying to be rude..." which I never felt at all - tell people what they need to know, not what they want to hear. They listened, understood my history, and made me feel completely safe and comfortable. Soon after meeting them, one of my old veneers (from a childhood snow-sledding accident) came loose. They saw me right away and when it became clear the veneer wouldn't hold anymore, they transitioned me to a crown, coordinating everything with my insurance. It looks completely natural -- and they even took me outside in natural daylight to match the color perfectly instead of the office lights. Brilliant! BU Dental believes that a healthy mouth makes for a healthy body. They practice holistic dentistry, looking at the whole person -- not just your teeth -- and how oral health connects to overall wellness, nutrition, and lifestyle. I never realized the connection but now it totally makes sense to me. Patty at the front desk deserves her own gold star -- she's always cheerful, smart, and a total pro at navigating insurance. Years went by and then they started bothering me on and off. After a routine cleaning from my dentist, one of my wisdom teeth really bothered me and I was referred to Dr. Attia's team. I called and they were able to schedule me on the same day for a consultation (Tuesday). The staff are very friendly and professional. Everyone at the office had a smile and were patient. X-ray was done on site and a smooth, quick process. I thought I might have needed the extraction that same day but Dr. Attia did a thorough assessment and reassured me that it could be done later. I was scheduled 2 days later for the extraction. I needed all 4 removed so I was sedated. Dr Attia and his team provided clear instructions, including a print out, of how to prepare for the procedure and what to expect afterwards, including driving and home care instructions. They answered all my questions clearly and were available by text/phone, providing helpful reminders. The sedation and extractions went smoothly, all done within an hour, without any issues. They provided a very detailed and helpful handout on what to expect hours and days after the procedure, and how to mitigate pain, swelling, bleeding, etc. I had a follow up one week after my appointment when Dr. Attia checked that things were healing well and he shared some details about my procedure and how wisdom teeth. Prior to any work being done, Dr. Alijanian gives one a menu of flavors on a towel to use for your comfort. When starting the initial process of anesthesia, Dr. Alijanian gives you a whiff, dose, whatever you want to call it of some type of gas to alleviate any pain of intravenous anesthetic. There is absolutely no pain associated with the process of pulling teeth. I had two molars extracted and felt nothing. I'm not sure why, but I may also have had a novacain injection as the area of removal was numb when I went home. I would reccommend Dr. Alijanian to anyone.
