As good as I remember from my youth. Love the Gulla Dog and the fries n gravy. It's great to see the Gulla family tradition continue.

Small shop, reminds me of the 90s for some reason. Got the burger n wings. The wings are excellent, and I highly recommend skipping the ok burger and spending it on more wings instead, best I've had in Bellaire. Didn't try the hot dogs but saw them come out and they looked good. read more

Food excellent.Waitresses friendly . Good service.Never have to wait long for seating and getting your food.

Great food and great service A+for the Cook great place for breakfast or lunch easy parking

Decent little diner. The food selection is alright, typical fair: hotdogs, hamburgers, etc., but not an ideal place if you have dietary restrictions like me. I am vegetarian, but i am also non celiac gluten intolerance along with some other issues. Some of the people i came with ordered a salad. Its iceberg lettuce, but it is of pretty decent size. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal and the staff is friendly enough. read more

Gulla's Lunch - a restaurant counter and stools - Salad Near Me - Bellaire, Ohio

When we are in town we always go to Gulla's. Great hot dogs, fish, and new to their menu, cabbage roll Wednesday and lasagna Monday's. Great food, great service. A hometown staple. read more

There's a reason why this place is crowded! This was the second time I've had Gulla's but I will be returning more frequently. The hot dogs are obviously the staple of the eatery but the fried mushrooms are a must now. I had a plain hot dog and a hot dog all the way and they were both delicious. Will return. read more

The wings were really good and the hot pepper cheese balls were good too. The service was excellent and quick.

A local legend And now they have a huge menu of all your favorites at prices that will leave you wondering why you didn't know about this place sooner read more

I love to come to Gulla's when I'm in town. I always get the fries with gravy and a gulla dog. There are days the food isn't as fresh as others but usually I am very happy with my order. I only get to have it about once a year but I look forward to it! read more

This local joint is an absolute staple if you visit the Ohio Valley. It is one of those places that you go to for the history, nostalgia and for A true "Ohio Valley" feel. Don't get me wrong, if you can do a hotdog well, Gulla does a good hotdog but the best part of this place is the Ohio Valley feel. I absolutely love them and recommend that you go if you are in the Ohio Valley. It has the "Wheeling feeling" read more

The absolute, very best hot dogs on the planet! I have been going to Gullas since I was a young boy for the past 45 years. My great granparents lived in the apartments above Gullas back in the 20's when Gullas first started out. I always make it priotity to visit this place when I am in town. I recently took my kids there and they were blown away by the hot dogs and chilly chest fries. The place has expanded some since the old days and there are 2 separate sides of the restaurant. The smaller side was the original store and is open after 4 pm. It features a bar. The expanded side closes at 4pm. There are several booths and a flat screen tv. Other than great hotdogs, they offer chilly cheese fries and fries with gravy. They even sell Coleman's fish market sandwiches! read more

Gulla's Lunch - two hot dogs on buns - Salad Near Me - Bellaire, Ohio

The food and prices were not that great. I don't understand the hype. I had the Kraut Dog and Slaw Dog with a bowl of chili. All three were underwhelming. The Kraut Dog was flat out gross. The Slaw Dog was literally a boring mix of coleslaw without any other seasoning or flavoring. The chili came with crackers and there was no cheese, onion, sour cream, etc. My waitress was not especially welcoming. My meal was a lot more expensive than it should have been. I recommend looking for somewhere else to eat. read more

First walked in to find one server for a fully packed restaurant. Waited 10 minutes to place a simple order. The server is running around struggling to keep up with orders. The food was ok the hot dog was why I came and it did not disappoint. read more

Can't go wrong with the fish or Hot Dog. Nothing fancy but tastes like it did years ago.

One of Kind!!! I'm an addict on the fries & gravy- The hot dogs are the best anywhere- hands down. The sauce available by the pint and quart to take home (a must after your visit). "By Golly it's a Gulla" read more

Gulla's Lunch - a hot dog in a wheelchair - Salad Near Me - Bellaire, Ohio

This is my go to place for hotdogs, just love them. The best in the valley by far. Now they serve breakfast and wow, hope your hungry. I got 3 eggs over easy, sausage, home fries and toast. I'm a pretty big eater and there was no way I could finish it. Couple things I would add to the menu, biscuits and gravy, grits (I'm from the south), and fruit bowl. The wait staff here has ALWAYS been the most friendly of any I've seen in the valley. They make you want to come back and treat you like family. I highly recommend Gulla's read more

Gulla's Lunch - a plate of breakfast food - Salad Near Me - Bellaire, Ohio

There is nothing else like a Gullah Dog! Gullah's Lunch is always the first place I stop when I come to town to visit my family. It has gotten to the point that my Mom will bring me a few dog with everything when she picks me up at the airport. If you have never been, stop in and get a few Gullah Dogs with Everything and a plate of Fries and Gravy. read more

Gullas never disappoints!! The staff is always friendly & the food is always amazing. Paul Gulla is a very caring & giving person as well. I'm involved with a non profit that puts on free events for kids in Bellaire & he always goes above & beyond to help us in any way he can. He truly loves his community! BTW, my go to order is a sloppy joe dog & fries w/ gravy. However, I did try one of their daily specials one time, Hamburger steak & I can honestly say it was the best Hamburger Steak I had ever had! ( & I was born & raised in the south, so I know my Hamburger steak). I'll forever yell "By Golly it's a Gulla"! read more

I grew up in the tiny town of Bellaire, and I've been going to Gulla's since I was a tot. It's a great place where, like Cheers, everybody knows your name, and you can always find someone to chat with over hot dogs and the famous Gulla's sauce. Back in the day, I used to eat hot dogs and french fries with brown gravy; nowadays, as a vegetarian, I have to find other options. The good folks at the family-run Gulla's don't make me feel weird about not being meatatarian, though. They just smile and prepare your food. While visiting my parents recently, I ordered fries with a side of Gulla's sauce, cole slaw and two saurkraut hot dogs without the hot dogs (essentially kraut on buns). I hadn't visited Gulla's in many years, but the fries were just as good as I remembered -- crispy and piled high on the plate. I dipped them into the Gulla's sauce instead of ketchup. The sauce -- orange-brown, spiced with all kinds of goodness, and completely vegetarian -- wasn't as spicy as I remembered. I requested some chopped onions and mixed these into the sauce. Things instantly perked up, and I used my remaining sauce on my "hot dogs." The kraut was delicious and was a nice balance of sweet and sour. And when I dove into my cole slaw, I was transported back 25 years when I'd come to Gulla's with my grandma after her hair appointments. This is a sweet, cream-based slaw that has just a touch of vinegar and plenty of cabbage. My parents and sister all ordered the usual -- three hot dogs with everything and fries and gravy. The "everything" dogs are piled with Gulla's sauce, onions, mustard, ketchup, relish and who knows what else. By the way, there's no smoking. Ohio is completely smoke free. Yay! Prices are incredibly inexpensive. Each of my kraut "dogs" were $1.35, and my cole slaw and fries each were less than $1.50. My family's dogs with meat were somewhere around $1.60 each. The ambiance is totally small-town, and I love it. Gulla's has been in this location on a busy Bellaire street for decades, and they still have the stainless counter with bar stools and small orange plastic booths. There's still wood paneling going partway up the wall, and they have photos of generations of Gulla family members on one wall. They also proudly display their plaques of thanks for their support of local high school athletic teams and marching bands. Gulla's is diner-like, but without that fake "I'm trying to be a 50s diner" feeling. It just feels like home. Gulla's closes around 4 p.m. each day. read more

Very good service but not blown away by the hot dogs, everyone raves over the hot dogs but they just weren't my cup of tea.

Below average food, dirty, our server was very unfriendly!! Definitely wouldn't recommend! Very disappointed.

The best hot dogs I have ever had. I live in Ga and every time we come to town to visit family, this is one of my MUST HAVES! I don't know how you can make a hot dog taste so good, the sauce is awesome! My dad will order 5-6 at a time and the fries with gravy are delicious, I can't order those anywhere down home in GA. read more

You won't believe the menu prices. Haven't changed probably in 15 or more years. Who could believe a $2 hamburger! (but you get what you paid for so order more food.) Or a great plate of crisp french fries even with a side of gravy for $2.50. Energetic and friendly waitress made this a memorable visit. read more

Since nearby Shadyside is my home town, I've been coming to Gulla's for decades and the sauce is unlike anything else I've ever ever eaten anywhere. They are absolutely addicting, as are the french fries with gravy, which is popular in "the Valley". When the elder Mr. Gulla was still alive [a short-statured but wonderfully big-hearted guy] he told me that the sauce originated in Sicily, where the wives would make it and put it on bread as part of their men's breakfast before going out in the fields to work. There used to be a hot dog place named Dossie's that was right across the street and sold a near-identical product, but was torn down decades ago. Purists claim that Dossie's sauce was a little better, but the fact remains that that Gulla's may possibly be the only place on the planet where you can get this unique sauce. A MUST stop if you're in the Wheeling area! Gotta stop now; I'm getting hungry just thinking about a Gulla dog! read more

The best hotdogs and fries with gravy around. Their soups like chili, bean and stuffed cabbage soup are also great foods to try there.

an OMG! experience! this is one of the best local diners in the Ohio Valley area. The service is great, the food is great, and you save a ton of money. They have an annual hot dog eating contest too! Every time I stop home from college, I am coming home. Great Place! read more
