Who knew that a place known for their hot dogs would serve the greatest chicken nuggets I have ever had in my life? In my life, people! I guess what I'm trying to say is: Come to Tito's for the sloppy dogs, stay for the amazing chicken nuggets. The chicken nuggets are deep fried and perfectly crispy, with juicy, processed chicken on the inside. Do you remember when you were a kid and McDonald's was good? It could have been because you were a child and kind of stupid and didn't know better. Or it could have also been that McDonald's was better back in the day. In any case, McDonald's used to have delicious chicken McNuggets. The chicken nuggets at Tito's took me back to that time in my childhood when an order of chicken McNuggets was heaven in a cardboard container. Except these nuggs at Tito's are even better! Anyway, our purpose for visiting Tito's was to taste a West Virginia dog. The WV dog comes with sauce, onions, mustard and coleslaw. It was really good, and apparently, this is one of the foods that the state is known for. We also got a chili cheese dog (good, but the cheese wasn't melted at all and would have been much better if it was), and a grilled cheese sandwich. The grilled cheese was great, my kid said. I think Tito's excels at grilled and deep-fried foods. And the reason why I say this is because we also got the fried cauliflower, and that, too, was excellent. Tried Tito's Sloppy Doggs for the first time last Friday and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. I ordered the Double Doubler burger... and wow. The cheese was melted perfectly, the bacon was crispy and packed with flavor--just an all-around perfect burger. Fast forward to today--I finally had time after work and called at 5:12 (they close at 5:30). He answered with so much energy and professionalism, like he hadn't already been behind the grill all day. I told him how I'd been thinking about that burger all week and asked if there was still time--he said yes without hesitation. I rushed over, got to chat with him and his family, and you can just tell it's a genuine, hardworking family business. And the burger? EXACTLY the same. Just as perfect as the first time. Food is good. A bit on the expensive side for the quality and amount of food. The people that work there are kind BUT they are not consistent on what they charge per item. For example, ordered a Patty Melt. The sign says it comes with fries. But they charged $2 more for the fries. I also have had coworkers order the same exact thing for lunch on different occasions and have been charged different amount each time. That is a horrible business practice. read more

A recent work trip took me to Wheeling, WV and we agreed to have lunch here. The interior had an intimate dinner feeling and a lot of the construction workers were starting to com in for lunch as well. The staff was extremely friendly and happy to serve us. I ordered the BBQ burger with fries and it was amazing. The burger was cooked to perfection with the perfect portion of fries. The price was an amazing deal. Tito's has a few drawbacks but is overall a great place for affordable yet delicious American fare. I've been here several times before and tried their quesadillas, fries, dogs, and pulled pork items. It's all quite good, so you can't really go wrong. My recommendation? Get the pulled pork fries and stick with that, it's a great meal by itself and offers the best value. While it's getting colder now, the outside seating across the street is a nice spot to enjoy your food if you either can't or prefer not to dine inside. So if the food is awesome and affordable, what's the issue? The service. It's a bit touch and go, not all that friendly, and they are surprisingly lax with their attention to safety protocol. You might think I'm whining about coronavirus, but I'm actually talking about wearing gloves while prepping and handling food, which is pretty important and should always be done no matter what else is going on in the world. I will keep an eye on this during future visits, and hopefully they will get a bit better about this. All things considered, this place is great for a snack or casual meal, it just needs to make a few changes and it will be one of the best spots in Wheeling. Definitely worth a try! Overall: 4.0 stars --- Pros: - Awesome selection of delicious food, take your pick, you can't go wrong! - Value is good for most of the items here. Think twice before getting anything $6+, as the best values here are below that threshold. - Clean interior. Cons: - Service is lacking. Stopped in for a quick bite on a rainy day passing through Wheeling. I got the Kraut dog which is kraut and mustard and the sloppy dog which is their version of a chili dog. Tito is on the grill back there making them fresh to order. Both were great but the sloppy dog was another level. I'm already craving another one! First time here and to wheeling! My SO and I love to travel and try new places and things. We fooded in like a few places inside the centre market and landed here. Yum!! First round I got a coney hot dog with mustard (hold the onions) and sloppy sauce which I couldn't keep a straight face as I asked what it was. It's a really delicious chili that's only meat and no beans. If the hot dogs are good you know everything else is gonna rock! My SO got a burger (I forget which one, I think kraut?) And it was huge and really good! Their fries are yummy too, they season them very well. So also got the cowboy nuggets which are $7 and you get like 4 nuggets. Which I think was a bit pricey for what it was. He liked them. It was corn, jalapeños and cheese deep fried. I'm always on the hunt for good Coleslaw. Found it! It's not too sweet and has the perfect balance of flavor. I also got the pulled pork sandwich and it was good. Has a less sweet and more of a smokey flavor. Lots of choices for food, although a few are a little pricey for what you get. On the other hand, there are several which make you feel like you are stealing from them. Everything is made fresh, which unfortunately means there may be a long wait for your food if there's a line, but your food will be fresh and hot. The location within the center market southern building makes waiting for your food a bit of an annoyance as people push past you on a busy day, but if you can tolerate the wait and the people, the owner Chris will ensure the freshest food around at mostly good prices. The other issue with being in the center market is the noise factor. On a slow day, it's not too bad, but when the place is crowded, it's hard to carry on a conversation. The additional issue of small children add to the noise factor, but this is no way detracts from the food. For such a small place, they do their best to get food out quickly, but a little more help may be needed. None the less, I still give it five stars. They can't control the environment due to their location. read more

Looks a bit like a carry out or diner when you walk past. There are seats inside if you want to dine in. It is very clean but on occasion they are so busy they can't always sneak out to clean a table. I usually take my food to go since I work across the street. There is meter parking across the street and a parking lot on the corner past Tito's if you need to park. Parking in the lot is very cheap, even for the whole day if you want to stop anywhere else like CVS, Health Plan, or the popcorn place. The food at Tito's is cheap. At most restaurants, cheap priced food usually means cheap quality, but not here. The owner works very hard to ensure the quality of the food is excellent. I have never had anything I didn't like at Tito's. I usually get one of the same 3 things because I like routine when I am at work. With that said, the food that I get all of the time is always consistent. It has the same amount of toppings and is cooked to the exact same temperature. Staying consistent is very important and Tito's nails it every single time. My favorite meal is a WV dog and a side salad with chipotle-ranch dressing. The WV dog is topped with onion, mustard, slaw, and Titos delicious goodness (sauce). The chipotle-ranch dressing is pretty basic but it's pretty dang great, especially on the CBR wrap or with fried cauliflower. Despite the name, Tito's has a lot more than hotdogs. It's one of my favorite lunch spot in the valley. Everyone knows Chris and Chris knows everybody. Don't be surprised when he memorizes your name after a few visits. He sincerely cares about his customers and takes mental notes on whether or not you are talkative, have a family, live around here, etc. After being here just once, I noticed that about Chris and his staff. They really go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome, despite the fact that they are one of the busiest restaurants in the area. The best time to go is 11 or after 12:30 due to the lunch rush. I spent my lunch entire break sitting at Tito's writing this review because I care, too. This place deserves all of the best reviews. I can't speak highly enough about the food and the service, everything is top notch! I love the sloppy dog (no onions) and their sloppy fries. We stopped in after getting to the Christmas parade too early to stand in the cold. So happy we stopped in. Even though it was crowded we were able to get a seat and the food came out in a very reasonable time. I ordered the pork dog, hot dog with bbq pulled pork, and the West Virginia, hot dog with cole slaw, "sloppy sauce" and mustard. Both were delicious and I would highly recommend either. My wife ordered a pizza sub. She really enjoyed it, I snuck a bite and thought it was tasty. This was also the one problem we ran into. Our order of fries, and my son's order of chicken tenders was broiling hot, and quite tasty. The pizza sub, however, came out room temperature. It was fine until the bread got a little soggy. Being as it was as busy as it was it was something like miss timed food is pretty easy to overlook. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. This place is a hidden gem tucked into the downtown streets of Wheeling. My boyfriend and I stopped here on a day trip out on our motorcycle and couldn't have been more impressed! Let me start with - it's not fancy, but what it lacks in decor, it makes up for with the friendliness of the staff and deliciousness of the food. This is a small hot dog joint across the road from what was Stone & Thomas. The service is super quick and the WV dog was delicious. The only thing that lowers the star rating is that one lady behind the counter berated a younger girl while I was standing there waiting for my food. I think they may have been related as at one point the lady said something about "no reason your sister doesn't like you..." It made the whole thing super uncomfortable and is something that should have been done in private.
