One word sums it up: AMAZING! The burger was juicy, perfectly seasoned, and layered with fresh toppings that worked in perfect harmony. Two days later, my wife was still raving about how amazing it was! We also split a regular order of fries for $4, and they were just as impressive. Crispy, flavorful, and served in a generous portion--thankfully we didn't go for the large, because the regular was more than enough for two. Was looking forward to BBQ & Brew and found out it's Burger & Brew now. I'm from out of town and looked up BBQ near me and Route 88 BBQ & Brew popped up, so I decided to drive there and I'm confused, there's no BBQ. So I decided to get a Brew and try their fries, they had a Wheeling dog special, foot long hot dog with items on it and BBQ sauce, again confusing since no actual BBQ. Their burgers are burgers, Sysco food truck items at best, no care or comfort in any of the food, just wish there was a McDonald's closer. Wasn't impressed at all, disappointing really. I threw away 2/3 of a regular fry, hope something else better comes in. read more

There's been many different restaurants come through here, but I hope this one sticks! My grandparents and I got our food to-go to take down to the house and we are very impressed! Jennifer and Jamie were a great help explaining the history of the place & the menu in general. Nice gals! The atmosphere is awesome, and it shows they care about their restaurant. I saw this place wasn't on the map, so I created this so that others can try it out and enjoy! This restaurant is located on the Par 3 here in Oglebay. People come to the Par 3 to hit balls and also play on the course, which is smaller than actual Spidel golf course. As you can see in my photos, there is a nice fire pit outside along with nice wooded seating inside. The views are great from the restaurant porch! I ordered the pulled park platter, which came with two sides. I ordered baked Mac n cheese & slaw. My meal was great! You can tell the meat was fresh and just made out in the bbq maker. I tried my grandpas brisket sandwich and it was yummy! My grandma got the same as me only on a bun. The brisket sandwich was toasted and melted with cheese. Another cool thing is, all of their sauces are homemade and the meat is GLUTEN free. All the meat is prepared fresh daily. The baked Mac n cheese & the slaw is made at the lodge and brought over fresh everyday as well. The coleslaw is a vinegar based; gluten free too! Love music from local artists is very Saturday! They serve food until 10 and drinks until 11! They also have a s'mores kit which you can see the info about that on the pics I posted! They are open until about October and then the ski lodge takes over for the winter months! Everything is clean & up to par with technology. They have TVs inside & music playing. The smaller kitchen looks to be kept clean as well. If you are visiting or live here locally, come by! You won't regret it! read more

This place is so bad I didn't want to waste my time writing a review and I certainly didn't take the time for pics. In PA for a wedding and met the kids from NY and we went to Oglebay park for the day. We saw this place and being from NC thought, any BBQ is good BBQ but boy we're we mistaken. Now I'm a brisket snob. I grew up in Texas and smoke brisket frequently. They had a brisket Sammy and it came with homemade chips so we ordered it. Kids got pork and ribs. The brisket was tender but lacked any flavor. Look, a brisket is full of fat and a rub of just salt and pepper delivers a beautiful hunka hunka meat if smoked properly. This was bland. The chips tasted like they were fried in oil that was 5 weeks old. Just awful. And the ribs....I should have burned this establishment to the ground. They were rancid. I almost immediately got sick. They tasted like bacon fat that has gone rancid then smoked with rotten pine logs. I'm not kidding you when I say I'd rather eat skunk butt than those ribs. Never, I reiterate, Never eat at this place unless you're prepared to vomit in the parking lot. read more

What food we had was good, but we did not get to order what we wanted because they had run out of the majority of their menu (i.e.- briscut, beans, mac & cheese, and rolls) by 6:30 p.m. on a Fri. Note that Friday's are advertised by Oglebay as "Fire Pit Fridays" where you can "gather around the fire pit...every Friday night from 6 - 9 p.m. for an evening of free live entertainment and delicious smoked BBQ." I don't usually do this, but I got some ribs to go here and they were not edible. A whole rack I had to throw away. The right thing to do Way too dry and tough. The pulled pork and coleslaw here isn't bad. Value on the sides are pretty good. Sauces are pretty good. However, I can't put this place in the same tier as the other BBQ places in the area until they get their QC issues figured out. read more
