Do NOT take lessons from this store!! I cancelled when they told me to and have now been charged the past 2 months. I have called multiple times with assurance they will take care of it and still no credit or a call back. The store does NOT answer the phones and stand around doing nothing while the phone rings. The guy at the lessons desk does answer, but can only submit a request for a refund he says but has a different story every time I call. This store has ZERO customer service. We will never return to this store for future lessons!! BEWARE!!!!!! read more

After I-don't-know-how-many-years, Guitar Center is still a go-to for musical gear and instruction. Yet for me, it's a necessary evil. [Begin Cynical Section] Doing business here reminds me of the reason I left the music business as a career. Narcissists outlast the rest of us. I've been eyeing seven and eight string electrics cuz I'm trying to self-teach myself some shred metal and six strings just aren't enough enough rock to shred with. I found a 7-string on the used wall here, came back a week later it had sold. Came back again found another one that I thought was priced $100 too high, only to realize it was on the used wall, but was actually new. Oops. Third guitar was an eight-string used with some damage at a good price. I asked the guy if he could do an out-the-door-price below sticker with some cables and he said couldn't. I told him I'd been shopping here for decades and that wasn't true. The answer, "corporate is trying to move away from that image." I'd already done my homework and couldn't beat the price online. But, was still tempted to walk because the guy was a kinduva d***. But, it's a music store right? They deal with people all day who have rock dreams and believe that American Idol is a real thing. [End Cynical Section] The store is fairly clean, though stock was uneven in various areas in all three visits. The guitar walls are always full. Keyboard area is weirdly different each time I go. The cable racks were somewhat bare. We had to use the bathroom, which I won't again, and both guys and girls were out of toilet paper and paper towels. Hand sanitizer was available on a stand at the door, even before the restrictions began, which I appreciated. So, it's ok. Honestly, I'll shop online and buy somewhere else unless I absolutely have to. If you want to have your hands on the guitar, the only way to do it is do your research and go in. Maybe you'll find someone who will come off the price a little, or maybe this guy wasn't blowing smoke up my a**. Good luck! read more

We've shopped all the local Guitar Centers. This one is a smaller location but stocked and staffed well. Glad they opened one in this area. We've purchased a lot of general gear and couple of bass guitars and traded in as well, and the prices are fair. Our daughter takes lessons here and Jordan does a good job with it. The prices and flexible scheduling works for us. read more

This location is convenient to northwest Fort Worth. While the store is smaller than some, it has character. The guitar techs are helpful and offered some good suggestions. This acoustic room is pretty small and felt snug with 4 people hanging out. However they have a very nice selection of guitars and helpful staff. We made 3 trips in one week for miscellanies gear and each time we were greeted like a regular. I appreciate the convenience and friendliness of the staff. read more

Bought a Jackson bass guitar and some electric drums in July. I got maybe an 1 hr of play time on the bass cause my son likes the drums more. I started playing it and noticed it was glitching. No sound and then it would work, and then no sound. Called them, they said no problem. They said bring it in we will have a tech look at it. Probably something simple. I agreed. I brought it in a couple weeks later and the store Manager said no. It's going to cost you. i said, no stand behind your product. He said, he doesn't like Jackson Bass Guitars. Why do you sell them??? We went a couple rounds. Store manager got emotional elevated his voice and made a scene. Scared off all the customers, all that was left were employees. Wow.... Happened today. Not sure but looks like the POS was down. Guy on register 1 trying to apply promotion looks like, but having issues. Older Guy on register 2 is asssisting someone who bought a lot of stuff. Girl on register 3 definitely having problems with the computer and have to reset the system and all. Ok! I understand all these, i really do cause trust me! Ive been there. I work retail in my younger years. What pisses me off is when the Girl on register 3 finally became availble, she tried to help a customer who just came in, and its really hard to believe that she didnt see me cause i mean cmon? I was standing there for a long time and the other customer that youre about to help saw me, why didnt you? good thing that customer pointed at me and let the girl know that I was there. I was like "thanks man I appreciate it, been waiting in line for a while." Then instead of apologizing she started talking to the older guy on register 2 and said "i have to blah blah blah, the computer is blah blah blah." As if i didnt know that she was having system issues. i just wanna pay for my strings man! Ring me up already. lol! read more

The reason people shop online... Walk-in and no one greets you. Even though the register is by the door, and there were two employees. Walked around the entire store, obviously a bit lost. As I approached the register for help, the employee turned around around and kept texting. No one was helping the other two groups either. Even with 4 employees chatting by the register. As I was leaving two were chilling by the door, and were nice enough to say bye. I just ordered strings and some lesson books on amazon instead. read more

North Ft Worth store needs to teach it employees to stop standing around the front desk and sitting and playing guitar for their own enjoyment. Walk the floor. See if customers need anything. They lost a $900 sale and a gear card holder today. Stood and waited by an used amp that I was going to purchase for 25 minutes. Asked a guy that was running around with one customer for a cable. Never talked to him again. I just needed to hear it to make sure it worked. All cables are locked down, which I completely understand being a former GC employee, that they like to walk off. Quit talking to your buddies and playing guitars for your own enjoyment. Help the customers... read more

Help (or at least acknowledge) the customers in the store. After 23 minutes of my son and I being ignored and seeing one gentleman who came in AFTER me getting help we left. I see no reason to return as I am sure I can find a music store who would WANT to help me. read more

Awesome place; went to sell my Yamaha acoustic, Gabriel, the manager not only researched the value, he gave me fair price plus 10% off whatever I wanted to get from the store. That's great customer service!! To Chris C and his complaint: a TRUE MUSICIAN would have picked up an acoustic and Jammed with the employee playing the electric, that's how musicians communicate! Brought an late 80s bass in to have the nut repaired. The slot for the nut seemed to be worn and the nut was loose and also tilting at an angle. I decided it might be best to leave this repair to a professional since I'm not sure what I'm doing exactly and don't have all these special tools. So I brought the guitar in on a Monday afternoon. The repair guy wasn't in, I said that was fine, and just dropped it off. Was suppose to hear from someone later that day or the next at the latest I was told. So on THURSDAY I finally got a call saying the bass could definitely use a 'set up' and said nothing really about the nut. Well.. obviously I'm not spending time cleaning this thing and making sure the action is perfect if I can't even play it due to the nut being messed up. So I say and about the nut....? Guy tells me yeah he can re-glue it. I say.. what about that the slot is too big? He tells me yeah no problem. He can file it. So I assume maybe he is going to get a wider width nut and file that down and glue it in. Fast forward to I'm at the store to pick it up. The same nut is on there, glued down. Its sitting at an angle. Pluck some strings.. it does sound better but there's still a faint twang that shouldn't be there. I figure well this guitar repairman must know more than I do, maybe it doesn't come thru on the amp. Get home, plug it in.. nope. Open E and Open A strings still have a twang/buzz to them. It does sound a bit better, probably because it is glued now, but it is definitely still there. I'm glad I didn't bother with the additional 50 dollar 'set up'. The "repair" wasn't that much but still a waste and definitely a waste of time. read more

Went today to buy a Martin D-18. I was told I cannot touch ANY guitars. So I left and going to Sam Ash(60 miles away) to buy a $2400 guitar. These guys are idiots, it is no wonder why Guitar Center is constantly in dire financial disasters. I've been at this location 4 or 5 times and the customer service has been stellar. Every single time I have shopped there, there has been at least 2 or 3 people ask me if I need any help, etc. (not pushy, but just making sure I am getting what I need.) I am new to playing music and always feel a bit intimidated, but these guys have all been awesome, answering questions and making recommendations. I've bought both new and used gear, amps, cables, etc. and also purchased from the GC website and then brought products into the store (bass guitar) for strings and setup. I am impressed with the staff and will definitely continue shopping there. read more
