Amazing! Such a cute and quaint candy shop and dessert factory. Their homemade goods are beautiful and beyond decadent. The warmth of the store and the friendliness of the staff was a sweet touch to a sweet shop. The gentlemen we dealt with was so courteous as well as knowledgeable. He took the time to explain each treat and didn't mind the thousand questions over them. It was such a great find. The parking was wonky but that is not on the store. My mom went into guilty pleasures and brought home 4 personal cheesecakes. She told me the staff was wonderful! Everyone was so sweet and chatted with my mom and where they were from, as my family is from the same area in the city. With that being said, we were a little disappointed in the quality of the cheesecake. It was gritty and dry, and had a day old freezer taste. We bought 4 of them for 35$, and don't think it was worth the money. We had them after dinner and all said the same thing. They didn't taste fresh, and I think that should be advertised. Love the retro vibe here and that retro cash register looks so cool, plus retro and rare candy here as well that is hard to find or only can be found online. came by here to try here and man customer service here was awesome so nice and polite. had brookie and four truffles. The brookie was pretty good, nice and fudge, but the truffles were the best, the filling was velvety and buttery in taste, the fave ones of the bunch was blueberry cake one and strawberry cake one. also, I sampled their skittle tea and wow, it was like a low sugar homemade fruit punch, I regret not ordering a whole cup of it. If I get a chance to visit again am so getting the cheesecakes since I they have homemade personal size cheesecakes. well worth the trip to get here. read more

My experience here was not positive unfortunately. I am sorry to say all of this because I usually do try to be understanding as one who works in the industry myself. I thought the ambiance was nice when I first walked in, but that feeling was quashed when the employee at the register was short and rude with me when I asked about the flavors available. Maybe he was mad that I interrupted the conversation he was engaged in with a person off to the side by approaching the counter, I am not sure. But regardless of the reasoning, the way he interacted with me was unprofessional and discourteous. I felt as though I had to rush through figuring out what I wanted; thankfully the choices were incredibly limited despite promising variety on their website. Whoever responds to reviews on google very much so appears to use their cheesecake being "Italian style" as an excuse for the recurring complaint of their cheesecakes being far too dry. Italian cheesecake is actually supposed to have a lighter, more airy crumb, not be overbaked and dense. Italian and New York Style are also not the only types of cheesecakes by the way, there are several and they all have their merits. Japanese style cheesecake, for example is another that is more cake-like and less creamy, but it has a beautiful light and fluffy texture. Not a single style of cheesecake is meant to be as dry as the ones I purchased here. Maybe it was a bad batch, but going based off some of the other reviews I have seen, it sounds as though this is a common occurrence here. read more

Cute little shop with retro candy. Customer service was great. I bought the turtle cheesecake and a slice of carrot cake. The carrot cake slice was so good ($4), and the frosting was great (not overly sweet)! I didn't care for the raisins (personal preference), but still found the cake delicious! The cheesecake was very grainy/gritty to me. I did not care for it at all, especially at $10. I'd go back again for the carrot cake, and also to try their Brookie. read more

Always receive a warm welcome in this little shop of EVERYTHING retro and then some. I leave with big smile and a big bag. Every. Time. You can not avoid the yummy display of cheesecakes, breads, croissants or the cookies and donuts on the counter. They have a variety of flavors for coffee, milkshakes and of course an entire wall full of candy! Their Godfather sandwich/panini is a delicious lunch you will regret to miss. I was so excited for this place. I love cheesecake so finding a place for cheesecakes made me so happy. Going in the staff was so sweet and amazing. When I saw the cheesecake the texture didn't look the best but I didn't judge so I got a couple. Eating it I was not impressed at all. The texture was not good and a bit dry. The personal cheesecake were very pricey especially for the way it tasted. I really wanted to like it especially with how nice the staff was but this place left me disappointed. I got their oero cheesecake and classic cheesecake. I really wanted to try their cheesecake truffles but they only had a lemon flavor so I did not end up trying them. Came in for the first time last Friday at 3:30 pm and it wasn't a pleasure. The gentleman behind the counter with the beard did not welcome me, greet or say hello. I proceeded to look around and that's usually followed by a "looking for anything in particular, instead just silence and when i asked about items he was very short and had an attitude. I ordered churros, cheesecake, crumb cake and brownies and while ringing me up another customer walked in he pawned me off to the female baker so he can greet and take care of the following customer. As someone in customer service, a greeting, smile, thank you and have a nice day can go a long way. I don't need my ring kissed but when you go into a bakery you expect a better customer experience than the checkout counter at a supermarket. A very disappointing experience and the treats were mediocre at best. I will not be returning. read more

I am a long time resident of Washingtonville and as soon as this shiop opened, it changed the landscape of our village in the most positive of ways. You were NASTY immediately and I think it made sense to tell you that I would rather CALL you than give you a bad review. THAT IS WHY I WAS CALLING FIRST!
