Guildhall is my hands down favorite bar. This not just a bar with board games. They have fantastic cocktails (with fun game references as names), great beer selection, and actually amazing food! The people that work there are always super sweet even when they're packed. The interior is nice, endless options of board games, everything from popular picks to independently-made games. They have twitch streams playing on the tvs which is a fun change from the regular tv entertainment. Incredibly unique location, in a neighborhood that you wouldn't expect it. Guildhall is a gamer pub, that's focused around board games and esports. Nerds are the new cool, and they've got a new clubhouse in Burbank. Screens are playing live streams from Twitch. Watch Fortnite, Overwatch, League of Legends, and probably whatever game becomes hot after I've written this review. Their craft beer list has an interesting selection from local craft breweries. PROPS: Guildhall ain't your daddy's sports bar. This is a gamer pub for people that love games and classy drinks! There isn't security when you enter the bar and everyone can easily go there even if they are underage, and you can see many underage people there for sure playing board games. But when you are 28 and want to order a drink and your id is expired yesterday they won't serve you and they will kick your whole group out, on top of it they will say good night in other language according to your accent, that's Racist behavior. And they won't even consider looking at your passport. I am willing to pay the owner 100k to get that workers fired today!!! read more

It was my first time at GuildHall for a birthday . When calling to check in on the big party policy, they advised us to arrive early in order to hold enough tables for 12 people. So arriving as soon as they opened gave us the freedom to hold tables as we want. The selection of games is pretty solid, for big groups and small. Food and drinks are really good. You'd think it's typical bar food, but it's definitely better! The drinks are strong and delicious, which I appreciate. Overall, service is fine. They were able to accommodate holding a birthday cake for us until the party is ready, but when it came time to serve the cake - I was disappointed by the service. They were not able to provide us plates or forks because "12 is too many and they don't have enough", which I find odd. After I explained that I have no choice and it's too late for me to go buy disposables, they found tiny disposable plates and gave me 6 forks for 12 people to share. I'm glad we worked it out, but ultimately disappointed at the situation. They never told us to bring our own serving accessories, they didn't mention it when we gave them the cake upon arriving early, and gave attitude for us not knowing. I'm not the first or last person to be hosting a birthday with cake, they really could have the means to accommodate people with plates and forks. read more

I love this spot. It's brighter than you may be used to in a bar, but that's so you can see when you play one of the boardgames from their collection. There're never sports on the TV, only eSports and twitch gaming streamers, with the exception of Thursday nights, which are D&D/ Critical Role nights. The food is so good, and fancier than you might expect! Their specials are so wild and tasty, and there's even healthier and vegetarian friendly stuff on their menu. They offer a good revolving assortment of beers, a nerdy selection of house cocktails, and everyone behind the bar knows their stuff. They're so friendly and an absolute pleasure to hang out with if you are lucky enough to snag a seat at the bar. The regulars are all cool as hell, too. I've only had one bad drink here, and that was the Malort they carry, which is a rarity in LA, and I highly recommend you try it once for the experience and then continue ordering it anytime you bring a new friend, just to watch their faces. 10/10, so gross, will probably get talked into drinking it again. All in all, a great neighborhood hang out, and one I am going to keep coming back to for a long time yet. read more

The GuildHall is always an enjoyable environment; from the game wall, to just seeing people play games of Magic! The Gathering, I find the location to be really pleasant. I went here twice so far and it's by far the most fun bar I've ever been to. The food is fantastic and the waitress names Audrey was such a sweet person. GuildHall - Cheese Platter - Beer Bar Near Me - Burbank, California

This is a long one, so for those who don't want to read - I have been a bartender before so I understand the issues one faces while bartending however what I witnessed at this establishment was undeniably inappropriate. It's taken me a long time to write this review, as my friends and I frequented Guild Hall often and were big fans of the establishment. With that being said, we won't be returning after the multitude of customer service/safety related issues we witnessed on 10/19/2023. When we arrived, the young, brunette, female bartender at the bar wasn't exactly pleasant, nor was she outright rude. We figured it must be a busy night, and quickly moved on. Later that night, we saw her again at the table next to us as she took shots with the party near us for a young man's birthday. We befriended that table, who were all in their early 20s, and turns out they go to Guild Hall frequently as well. They were nothing but nice and friendly, not at all obnoxious or rude. With confidence, I can say that this table was not more intoxicated than any other party at the bar. As the night went on, it appeared the young man celebrating his birthday became ill. We don't know if it was from the alcohol, food poisoning, or some sort of medical emergency and frankly, it doesn't necessarily matter. The female bartender returns and lets his party know that once he's okay, they need to leave. A young, female friend of his attempted to apologize however the bartender walked away without acknowledging the friend. The bartender did not once offer the young man water or club soda, our table gave him water. She did not offer to escort him to the bathroom, our table asked but they declined. She did not offer to call an ambulance for the person who was visibly unwell at her bar, we did and his party declined as he had sober friends/lived close by. Another few minutes pass and the bartender returns. She stated that they need to leave. His friend apologized profusely while attempting to explain the situation to her, but the bartender once again did not acknowledge her and walked away. If this young man was having a medical emergency, how would the staff have known if they refused to allow anyone to speak to them? The young man was no longer actively sick although unable to walk as his friends were clearing the table (stacking plates, cups, etc). They apologized to us and the other tables near them again, and tried to pick their friend up to walk him out. Another minute or so passed, and the bartender returned, this time shouting. All entire group was standing ready to leave, as they were trying to get the young man up. I was within hearing range, so I could hear what was going on clearly. The same friend attempted to explain however the bartender, now accompanied by the bar back, spoke over her ("I've been trying to explain and get your attention, but you've been rude to me since I walked in"). Various curse words were thrown in by the staff ("Get the fuck out then."). This all occurred in less than about 10 minutes. The bartender did not even allow this young man the time to feel well enough to leave. The party left, but the bartender was still yelling. I did not hear anything beyond this, other than a few bits and pieces over the wall when they privately spoke to each other outside. I am not exactly sure what was said, so I won't include it in my review. I've had a considerable amount of time to think on this and believe it would be irresponsible not to inform others who frequent this establishment of this bartender's behavior that night. God forbid you or a friend get drugged at this bar, I am not certain the staff would even listen to you ask for help after what I witnessed. It appears this bartender was having a rough night, as she wasn't particularly pleasant to my party either (including after said party had left). I think these customers were remorseful, tried to voice that, and were immediately met with aggression. My main takeaway from this - that bartender should not be a bartender. She does not have the de-escalation skills needed to be a bartender and gave the impression of some sort of power trip on these young adults. These were practically kids, and she seemed to be taking out some sort of personal frustration on them. She waited until they paid their tabs and tipped, to start yelling at them. I don't believe she would have treated anyone my age this way as it would not have been tolerated. To make a long story short, after witnessing the way the staff handled this situation, I will no longer be frequenting this bar nor will I be recommending it to anyone. read more

Finally my hubby and I got to stop by for some drinks to celebrate our first night at our new home. We got the BingeWatch, Nook Cranny and Hazelnut Cream Beer. The Binge Watch was so tasty, must be the bourbon. Thanks for the recommendation Collin. Amazing bartender and friend. Can't wait to taste more of what they offer especially their eats. But can't wait for them to open again so we can hang out and play some board games, If you haven't tried them out yet, then you really must. You won't regret it. Peace! read more

i've been to GuildHall a few times now and would recommend it to all, whether you're a big fan of board games or not. The staff is really friendly and they have a very organized system for ordering at the bar (there is no table service here). I don't drink much anymore but people I've been with here have praised the cocktails. Their homemade chips are delicious and I really enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich on my most recent visit. This is a very welcoming, relaxed and inclusive space. They have an entire wall of board games to choose from, and there is definitely something for everyone! read more

This is definitely the nerdiest bar I have ever been too. I'm talking people get together here and have their own Yu-gi-oh tournaments nerdy. But that's what makes it so great! They have a ton of board games I've never heard of so I get to learn about fun new games! Street parking only but you can usually find an open spot nearby either across the street or on the street next to the KFC. This was a fun place! We did street parking nearby, not too far, it wasn't too busy when we arrived at 6pm on a Friday night, but it picked up by the time we were heading out. We ordered drinks and food to share- we were going for Happy Hour but didn't see any specials. The food was good, especially the tater tots, but not too many healthy options on the menu. And the chicken wasn't the best, but the service and drinks were great! We loved the bartender and sitting at a lower table to play games! We look forward to returning! read more

The decor and ambiance here is great. You really feel comfortable and the staff are really cool too. TVs are everywhere showing livestreams and relatdd media. The place is kinda small though. The cocktails here are really unique. They have a full menu of local beers that I've never heard of but all are great. I've had the Pheonix Down and it's REALLY REALLY good. Sweet and real smoky with a real nice smell. The food is also really good. Most bars and stuff don't really focus on their food but here, the presentation is great and taste is consistently good. There's also a KFC next door. I dont know why anyone would go there..... I would recommend coming right when they open on the weekends because this place can get PACKED. Okay, let's start here: I ****ING LOVE THIS PLACE!!! The beer selection is fantastic, emphasizing local craft breweries above all else. Occasionally they'll bring in craft brews from outside California. But they pride themselves as being supportive of the local scene. The bartenders were great to chat up. I loved that they took an interest in sharing the business with me, and saw the pride in all they did. What is also great is how each television on the wall is displaying Twitch gamer feeds. Now, I appreciate a good sports game as much as the next guy. But this is different. I love video games too, so it was fun to watch and pass the time. They also have a great whiskey selection, and probably the best in the local area. But they're not limited to just whiskey. They pour an assortment of gin, rum, absinthe, tequilas, etc. But what's super impressive is that they have mead on tap. Yes, they have mead ...on tap. I've found mead before in bars, but never on tap. As I write this, they're pouring "Viking Blod: Dansk Mjød", imported from Denmark. I haven't tried their food yet, but the consensus is that it's amazing. So I'm eager to roll on back and try their Juicy Lucy, grilled chicken sandwich, and steak sandwich (all calling out to me). This is a proud establishment, eager to please. I only wish I could bring my toddler in with me some nights to enjoy this place more, but I was advised that it's strictly adults only. I can respect that, as no one wants a toddler around in a place carefully built to help a person unwind. But still, I'm being selfish here. ;-) What about meeeeee?! Great job guys! Met a few friends for drinks on a Tuesday after work around 7 pm and was pleasantly surprised to see that it wasn't crowded. You place your order at the bar, both food and drinks, and take a seat wherever you'd like. They'll bring you order to your table. My old fashion was so tasty that I completely forgot to take a picture of it. However, I did remember to note the chips with pimento cheese dip and hummus and pita plate. The chips and cheese dip were a great snack and made me want to order seconds. The hummus and pita plate came with veggies and was okay. They have a pretty big wall full of games. Four games later, my friends and I ended up staying until they closed which was 12 am. Parking is a little difficult as it seems only street parking is available but I was able to find a spot right in front of the bar. read more

What a gem! Very clean, beautiful wood cabinet holding tons of games. Nice set up inside, the back patio looked great too. Staff was super friendly! We tried four cocktails, our favorites being Dins Fire and Mark XLVIII. The other two weren't to our personal tastes but all four were very unique and fun. We also got a Triple IPA and coconut Porter, both were great. We cannot wait to try more food, we ordered the pulled pork sandwich and the grilled chicken sandwich, both were absolutely AMAZING. Small little bar that is quiet amazing! They have a decent amount of indoor and outdoor seating. Also group tables. Different drink and food options that are really tasty. We tried the Tacos and Mac n Cheese it was a little pricey for the portion size but was really good! They have regular drink selections and a nice selection of beer different ipas and even had mead! My favorite for the night was called the Cactuar! It was like a spin on a margarita. The people that work there are really nice then the best part about it is they have so many games you can play. They have a whole wall selection of games and you can pick one or two to go sit down at your table and play with your friends.
