The menu has evolved and is definitely catered toward the customers... which makes sense. The ambiance is great. There are a ton of board games (or bring your own) to enjoy with your friends (or mortal enemies) for an epic battle of a little skill and a lot of luck combined. A lot of TV's and there is an outside patio to take advantage of if you so choose. The tables fill up and are occupied for extended periods of time due to the nature of the business. I've been to board game halls in the past, but GuildHall really nails the line between board games and bar - it's the best of both worlds. They have a strong variety of games to play - we came with a group of five and had no problems finding many good games to pick from. I was super surprised, though, by how good their food and drink were. At all the prior game halls I'd been to in the past, food was just subpar. But they really deliver here. Garlic fries were packed with flavor with enough topping for all the fries. Toasted Baguette was crispy with delicious butter. Smoked brisket Mac and cheese was INCREDIBLE - super cheesy and rich with tender pieces of brisket. Full bar with some creative in-house cocktails. Mind Flayer and Phoenix Down were two of our winners. We came right at opening on a Saturday and got a table right away. But within an hour or so, it really started filling up, and the place was PACKED. So keep that in mind if you're planning on coming. Parking can be a bit difficult. What a fun, little hidden gem! If you love games, good food, great service, and a cozy vibe this is your new spot. Food: They have a pretty solid selection of great bar food. I tried the sweet potato tater tots which were really nice, seemed like they were actually made in house. Also had the smash burger and it was really, really good! Possbily one of the coolest pubs I've been to in a very long time. Hidden in Burbank lies the GuildHall, a neat little pub right next to a KFC. Small but mighty as they have.a few tables out in the front but also an outdoor patio in the back. This pub has so many board games that are available and television screens around the restaurant allowing you to watch Twitch players play. I overall loved the vibe of this place and it was definitely a spot to bring your friends to play games but also socialize. My friend invited me for his birthday and I got a chance to try their burger and fries --which really hit the spot. The burger was absolutely delicious. Possibly one of the best burgers i've had in a long time and the fries were to my liking. We played Blockbuster, one of the games they provided and exploding kittens. The environment was so chill and there was no pressure to leave from the restaurant. There were two birthday groups indoors and out so I recommend coming early to snag a table. Burbank very much caters to the nerd community and I am here for it! This is a chill, relaxed, non-pretentious place with delicious food and a full wall of almost every game you can think of. The house-cut Kennebec chips are phenomenal, and they offer 2 dipping sauces too. We ordered more chips just to keep snacking as we played games. I really liked the brisket mac and cheese I ordered. The cocktail list with geeky, fun drink names is robust, and the drinks are good. I wish they had more wine and beer selections. The biggest bummer of this place is that a good number of the games are in bad shape, and I wish they would repair or replace the ones that are heavily used. It took us checking out at least 6 games before we found a playable one. Instructions are shredded and impossible to read, cards are sticky and torn. I was looking for something that has board games, that has booze and a chill environment and based on my research, only two spots came up that's somewhat close by to my area in East LA: Guildhall and Campus Billiards, Craft Beers and Sports Bar. Between the two, I was leaning on checking out Guildhall since I already regularly go to Round 1 Burbank for Dance Dance Revolution and Pump It Up as my cardio workout most Friday and Saturday nights. Guildhall is located in a weird spot between downtown Burbank and on the cusp of North Hollywood. Me personally, I am not really familiar with this side of town. Guildhall itself sits right next to the KFC and is about diagonally across from the Petco. The rest of the area is mostly residential and fortunately, the small side streets running perpendicular to Victory Blvd have fairly laxed parking rules compared to certain parts of Downtown Burbank, which is nice, all things considered. Truth be told, I was actually trying to check out the Inkwell Tavern but because the location is kind of situated in a busy intersection, I couldn't find parking to check it out. So I ended pivoting and driving over here instead and fortunately, finding parking on this side of town is much easier than in Downtown Burbank. I want to stress here that the specialty cocktails here are on the pricier end--at least to what I am accustomed to. They have a paper menu that they can pass out to you for review before ordering. These are legit quality cocktails. I'm equating the level as similar to 'The San Fernando.' I still prefer The San Fernando in terms of quality of ingredients but the atmosphere at Guildhall feels much more at home for the nerdy/geeky types and the clientele seem to be mostly of this breed of people. I feel practically at home, in a weird sort of way at Guildhall than I do at the various bars that I regularly frequent elsewhere in LA. At other bars, I almost have to put up a 'front,' a fake persona to fit in but not at Guildhall. The two bartenders, one male and one female, (both Caucasian), tending the night seem really friendly. It's a very chill, relaxed environment. They take credit cards. Enough said. Ambiance. It's like walking into a Frank & Sons or a trading card shop--minus the snobbery and/or elitism that oftens accompany such spaces. I like it. Prices. The specialty cocktails range between $14-15 while the beers range between $8-15. Most of the beers are in the $8-9 range while the less common beer varieties are in the double digits. They have a limited selection of wine, mocktails, and non-alcoholic beverages. They have a spacious outdoor seating area in the back, plus a few hightop tables and chairs at the front of their establishment. The inside 'main area' can fit at maximum 68 people at any given time, per the sign inside the main area. I don't normally talk about this but because this place is pretty unique, a lot of artwork, pictures and paraphernalia hung up on the walls are gaming related. It's comforting because it feels familiar. If you're a gamer, it's like a piece of heaven in one place. All in all, I like it enough that if I happen to be in the area again or want to invite a small gathering of people to hang out, this would be the spot I'd bring my group of nerdy/geeky friends. read more

Very strict policy for 21+, which is understandable for families with children in the walking stage, but one of our first visits my friends came to meet us with their 9 month old who was in a stroller chilling and they informed the parents they couldn't bring the child in. I do wish they opened at at least 2pm, but they open until 5pm. The parking is also tricky, you have to look for a spot down the street as the parking lot has been taken over by the neighbors, KFC. The customer service was okay, couldn't give a 5 star because I feel like one of the woman bartender (didn't get her name but she was on register taking orders most of the time Friday night) needs to chill. I went to grab a straw since my drink didn't have a straw & the straws were easily accessible to the people, she swatted my hand away. Like??? Move the straws elsewhere out of reach of the people. We came here for a work happy hour last week and I was actually super impressed by this bar. It is slightly more upscale than when you think of a game hall, which I appreciated! It's a bit small but there is some outdoor seating which is nice, we were able to grab enough space for our group. They have a huge wall of games which looks fun, but there were so many of us we just made up a game of our own. It's a *bit* slow having to wait one-by-one at the bar to order, I do wish they had some floor staff. It was also a bit tricky trying to find parking, the lot next door is Arby's only and at this time of night, everyone was already nestled into their residential parking. They had a great beer and cocktail selection, although I only ended up drinking Hefe's because that is what was calling to me! We ordered...I think everything on the menu to share: Fries I'm not a streak fry fan but THESE, these were deicious Sweet potato tots Sweet, totty, everything you could ask for Chicken fingers Gluten free but crispy and tasty Charcuterie board Here is where I'd add some improvements...Their selling piece is their meat fat candle, which in theory, sounds amazing....a drippy hot candle you can dip your crusty bread into. However, there is no container where all this meat fat can go, so it just pools and spread around the entire board, so you kind of just end up laying your bread on the board hoping for the best. Some of the friendliest staff you'll ever meet and the other people there have always been great. The food is way better than you'd expect from a place where it's kind of advertised as it's 3rd priority (board games and drinks being top 2). They always have some fun new cocktail specials available. They have a massive selection of games to play. I have probably played 20 different ones at this point and only one of them was missing any sort of pieces (and still was playable). Which seems impossible when you combine a bunch of people + food and drink. They have TVs set up to different video games, this place knows what it wants to be. My first time at GuildHall was great. It's definitely a unique vibe and attracts a certain type. I'm that type so I loved it. First, instead of sports or something annoying on the tv screens behind the bar - there were live streams of bunnies or ducks. And when I asked about them, the guy behind the bar got really animated and was telling me all about cute things they do - I got the feeling that they watch these channels a lot :) and I could see why. No stressful news or noise. Oh, but another screen had a live view of someone playing a video game so if you like stress and noise - they got you covered too. Everyone who worked there was super nice. They even made me a drink to order and named it after me lol - it was basically a hot Arnold Palmer with agave or something - which he named the Adriana hot sauce or whatever. I didn't get it either, but it tasted great, was a hot drink to keep me warm outside, and they gave me a free refill since it was mostly tea. The place has both an inside section and outside patio with heat lamps. I was outside with a fairly large party so it was nice to be near warmth. But I'd love to come back to hang out inside. It's a perfect place for gamers to eat, drink, and play whatever in peace. I saw people playing Magic, D&D, board games, card games. They had a whole wall of games for use. I would say most people were around 25-35, but I don't get the feeling anyone cares. I had the tomato soup and sweet potato fries. Both were good - but I saw someone next to me order the chicken strips and those looked great. I hope to come back and try those - and hopefully bring someone who wants to play a game :) read more

I genuinely love this place. I don't live in the area, so unfortunately I don't frequent Guildhall as often as I'd like, but whenever I'm near Burbank, I always make it a point to visit. This place appeases so much of my nerdisms, from games to alcohol, it's almost like a physical, brick and mortar representation of me as a person. More to the point, I can honestly say I've never been disappointed with any of the food or drink I've had here. I mean, it's no Michelin Star restaurant, but as a local pub, you'll get what you want from a bar. It's unpretentious, it's low key, it's fun, and it's welcoming. It's also highly recommended. I'm not much of a board game fanatic either, but it was kind of fun hearing my friends tease my gaming ineptitude, hahaa.
