First and foremost - the dentistry here is second to none. Dr. Burstein is the guru of dentists in…read morethe area in my opinion and from my experience. I have referred others here and they agree. The office is spotless clean and modern. They are so focused on germ containment they don't even have the spit bowls I used to use (before coming here years ago) at every other dentist. Lights, tools and other equipment are always wrapped to keep clean. His photo technology and equipment is so far and above what I expect and have seen elsewhere. Each treatment room has an LCD monitor and they show you high def pictures of your mouth when explaining issues and treatment plans. He uses a DSLR for jaw, bite and other external shots but mostly uses a hand held special pen like camera that takes great pictures inside your mouth. You can see plaque, cavities (and every drop of saliva) which makes it easy for us as patients to understand what they are telling us. This documentation is also great because over the years you can see changes in your mouth (improvement or deterioration). Dr. Burstein also does a lot of oral surgery himself that many other dentists refer you out for. He's really a passionate, knowledgeable and personable top notch dentist. You only have to meet him and engage in some "tooth talk" before this becomes very obvious. The staff is friendly and efficient. Hygienists and assistants are also top notch; birds of a feather... My only real complaint about the practice (and I've let them know :) ) is they can be aggressive with scheduling...calling, emailing and texting. If you're overdue for a cleaning - they will let you know, and often. They used to call me to schedule for my adult children and I think I have finally gotten them to call them directly. This stuff is so unimportant when compared to his talent and commitment to his profession, however.

I did notice there were staff changes, and I know that can be difficult sometimes, but the overall care of Dr. Wing has been horrible. My 5 year old went in in January and was told he needed fillings. The Dr. did attempt to do them but my son was less than enthusiastic. In the end, we decided we'd wait a few months to try again, since they were not bad. I called today to have him seen and the dentist blatantly refused to see him citing that the "tooth was too decayed for him to do." Unbeknownst to me, Dr. Wing is not just a dentist, but also a psychic. Considering he hasn't seen my son in months and back when he did, he said the cavities weren't bad and we could wait until his June cleaning to address them again, I'm failing to see how he can see inside his mouth, over a phone, from 2 towns away. I spoke with the new receptionist again, asking if I was hearing her correctly: That my child's pediatric dentist is refusing to see my child and HELP him, while he's in pain. I heard correctly. I highly do NOT recommend this practice and I will be taking my children to a new practice that actually cares.

I brought my son to the Wethersfield location to have 4 wisdom teeth extracted at 9:00 am. He is 19 so I did not go in with him, nor was I ever asked if I had any questions or concerns. Not only 15 minutes later I hear my son moaning and wincing in pain. I had to tap on the window to the receptionist and said, " I am pretty sure that I can hear my son, in pain". She tried to tell me that the I was hearing the suction machine. I said "No, that's my son!" She then said "Well, I will go see if he's ok. She closed the window on me, but I slid it back open to see where she went. She pretended to go to the room to check on him, but she did NOT! She came back to the window and said " yes, he's ok." I didn't say anything about seeing her walk to the door and back but never go into the room or even open the door to the room. My son was now quite so I waited a few more minutes. I thought maybe they had given him something more. I then heard him again this time extremely loud. I knocked on the window again and said, " OK now this is unacceptable, and they need to give him something more- he is clearly feeling this procedure!" This time, she did go in the room and came back to me and said "They are almost done. That tooth was really impacted." This is strange because the x-rays prior to this at the pre-op consolation did not show impaction. At about 9:50 am I was called to receive the post op instructions from the women who the Dr referred to as "his assistant". I don't know her name because she never introduced herself. Again, very cold delivery of instructions and when I asked a question regarding the gauze, she spoke over me. By this point, I just wanted to get my son home. When it was time to leave, I was instructed to go out and move my car to the front and they would meet me out there. This woman, the assistant, brought my post-surgery son down from the third floor, in the elevator, by herself. She is small in stature, so I questioned the safety of this because, although my son is not a big person....this is NOT a safe practice for their patients nor for her! At about 2:30 in the afternoon, my son woke up in excruciating pain and concerned because he thought his stitched came out. He had taken the 600mg ibuprofen, as they directed, as soon as we got home (about 10:30) and then at 2:30 he took the prescribed pain med. Because he was in so much pain and worried about sutures, I called the Wethersfield office. Again, I am not sure who I was speaking with because no one ever seems to introduce themselves, not even the surgeon, post op, when he entered the room. But the women I spoke to would not allow me to speak and she would (like the assistant) constantly talk over me. When I said " We did everything you are saying and what I am saying is ..." She cut me off and very nasty, said " Right, what I AM SAYING is..." To which, I hung up the phone. There is not much that can be done at this point. And unfortunately, I have to give it 1 star for this to post. They made sure they collected every penny before they would even come out to get my son from the waiting room. Wish I had read the reviews prior to choosing them, money seems to be their driver. But the teeth were extracted -so there's that! I immediately contacted our family dental practice to let them know of our experience and that they certainly should NOT be recommending any of their patients to this practice. And they provided me with sound and compassionate medical advice. I will be sure to place this review everywhere and anywhere I can, I work in a large, local, hospital, and I will share this story every chance I get. I hope that by doing so, I will save some one (or their loved one) from a terrible experience.

And when another staff member came to talk to me, she specifically physically stopped him and said do not talk to her. I could see by the looks on the faces of the staff that they are terrified of her. I have seen reviews specifically stating her name that she is mean. I have been on the phone with corporate and I highly suggest they go and listen to some of the phone calls, this woman makes and participating. Gloria is bad for business. I came in willing to spend about $5000 cash today. And because I hurt her feelings on the phone earlier, she told me I couldn't be seen. I'm pretty sure the corporation won't be thrilled that she passed up an opportunity for the company to make money because her feelings were hurt. I would say this is a one time thing, but I saw other reviews specifically stating her name. She hung up the phone on me multiple times. She has absolutely no business representing your business. I have spoken to corporate. I don't believe they're gonna do anything. I am actually terrified because this person has my personal information. And I don't think she values HPPA. She stood up and wanted to fight me. This girl is going to do something to me. I have never had a worse experience in literally any retail establishment in all 50 years of my living. Don't go here. Go spend a little bit more money somewhere else to have someone who gives a shit about their patients and how they feel. I specifically said I didn't want to interact with Gloria. And Gloria stuck her face into the conversation I was having with another staff member. I tried to knock speak to this woman, but she insisted on speaking to me. This woman is rude and mean and demanding, and the people in the office are a little bit scared of her. Not gonna lie if I saw her out in public, I'd be a little scared of this witch too. I'd rather spend $10,000 in another dentist office just to avoid Aspen dental. If you don't fire Gloria, then you don't give a crap about your patience or your business. Gloria needs to be fired. Or demoted. This girl needs to learn her place. And it's not bossing customers around.
