I comparison shopped periodontists, did in-depth research and asked about Dr. Gelb. On average, Dr. Gelb charged close to twice as much for the implant with bone graft procedure. Billing has been a nightmare. He does not respond to my questions and continues to bill for a product I did not consent to and do not own. This is unprofessional conduct and especially surprising since he used to be the President of the local periodontists in the area.

Dr. Haim's care was excellent, along with that of his assistant Sarah. In the past, I had always had problems with novacaine not being directed in the correct location and lack of care from previous practitioners. Dr. Haim's fixed my tooth, with no issues at all, and recommended me back for a cleaning (a fear of mine that kept me out of a dentist's office for a couple of years). I was easily scheduled by Joanne (so warm, welcoming and accommodating) and had a cleaning a few weeks later with Mira. All went smoothly, with x-rays showing some work needed on other old fillings. Once again, I was scheduled easily and my appointment went smoothly. Neville, the main hygienist is thorough, thoughtful and friendly. A visit to see him is pain-free, generally less than 30 minutes and oftentimes is one of the better dental visits I've had. I haven't had any major procedures outside of routine cleanings but would highly recommend Connecticut East Dental Center. They're quick and thorough. They also conveniently accept multiple forms of payment, including most dental insurance, as well as outside financing.

When I booked my appointment, I was very clear that I had a partially dislodged filling and needed my cavity fixed asap. They said that was not a problem, took all my information and set the appointment. At one point during the conversation, she mentioned something about a cleaning and I specifically said that I would join the practice as a patient and return for regular cleanings but that the immediate priority was filling my cavity. She reiterated that they could do that. Today, after 2 weeks of discomfort, I arrived for my appointment and was informed that I was getting a cleaning. When I explained the misunderstanding, I was then told that they could take x-rays today and then "bring me back in" to address the issue that they ASSURED ME that they could take care of two weeks ago. So if you want to waste your time, gas, and energy, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Herrick.
