The staff from check in to check out were great and the office was well put together and clean. What I'm disappointed in is the postoperative care we received by Dr. Fenton himself. After the procedure, my daughter had the normal post operative symptoms, especially from what I thought was post anesthesia side effects. Since that first day she has been running a fever and has been in extreme pain, again what I thought was normal. She has taken her dose of medications correctly and consistently and has only felt ok for a couple of hours throughout the day, by the evening her symptoms worsened. It is now 3 days later and we are in the Emergency Room due to a fever of 103.1 and tachycardia. Dr. Fenton was not sympathetic at all when he called me back yesterday morning and the reason I decided to bring her to the hospital. I tried not to call because we were following the instructions we were given and she was on top of her postoperative care but for some reason she has gotten worse instead of better. When I tried explaining that to Dr. Fenton at first he seemed ok but the more questions I asked the more annoyed he seemed to get with me. All I wanted was his professional opinion and if we are doing something wrong because when you know your children, you know them and my daughter was not ok. When I left the message I made sure I mentioned that she has history of seizures and that's why I was concerned about the fevers she was getting his response from as "well that's something that should've been mentioned, it's not in the chart." That is something we never forget to mention. He basically said she was dramatic because of her age (teenager), she's 18 not 13. I even tried to tell him I understood what he was trying to explain to me because I also work in the medical field and deal with postoperative care weekly but that seemed to set him off. He told me he did not care about what my background was and that he didn't need to talk with me about that but all I was doing was letting him know I understood but there's something wrong with my daughter. He told me to talk with her primary care doctor and to keep hydrated and he was also chuckling like if it wasn't a serious matter. I have never dealt with this kind of situation with a professional in my life. I have worked in the medical field since 18yrs old and never came across a MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL like I did Dr. Fenton. We are in the ER getting testing done and temporary treatment until we find out what is going on and have proof of it all. What was suppose to be good Doctor Patient care turned into what felt like I was bother to his Sunday morning. I wish we could've experienced the type of care I read on these other reviews because that is NOT the same doctor I spoke with. All I wanted was him to be understanding and reassure me that everything was ok but it feel that way. It's important to make sure your patients are doing ok after surgery especially when it comes to the mouth. I will never recommend anyone to that place, don't let the nice office and staff fool you because the man behind that is anything but sympathetic and professional, I should've realized that the moment he walked in and didn't introduce himself before getting my daughter started for the procedure, he just got straight to the point

I would like to just start out with, after reading all of the reviews I was very surprised. I have…read moreHusky Health Insurance and I was so scared I wasn't going to find a place to be able to pull out my wisdom teeth. I had an appointment about a year prior to this place in New London but I was too scared to go because they only offered laughing gas and you had to pay out of pocket for that. Then when the pain got bad enough I went to call them again and they didn't accept Husky anymore and that's when I found this place! They were extremely helpful and informational. When I found out I would be able to have the anesthesia it made me feel so much more confident in getting the surgery done of having to get all 4 wisdom teeth out. I didn't necessarily need all 4, but after doing a lot of research myself, i accumulated a really bad cavity in one and was getting another bad cavity in another one because it was difficult for me to clean my teeth back there especially while I had braces. The oral surgeon assistants were even nice enough to make me feel completely comfortable and relaxed answering all of my questions before putting me under. They helped me walk to my car and yes they do have you go through a back door instead of the front door because the front door has a longer pathway and there's stairs, whereas the surgery room is right next to the back door with no stairs and cars can pull up right to the door to ensure my safety. I don't remember being told any instructions because I was still loopy from the anesthesia, but I do remember someone holding my elbow all of the way to the car and someone had told instructions to my ride and I was taken care of. I was only in pain for maybe 3 days with the first day being the worst because I was sent home with pain medication, strong ibuprofen, amoxicillin to reassure I wouldn't get an infection and mouth wash. It made me feel so safe even when I was home to make sure I wouldn't get a dry socket, which I didn't. Still 3 months later my wisdom teeth all healed up I am very happy with my experience and am also very grateful there is an oral surgeon who is kind enough to take Husky patients because no one else seems to want to do it! So thank you!!!

Only leaving 1 star because 0 stars is not an option…read more Our nightmare with this practice started with a referral from a "partner dentist", Admire Dental of Bristol. The dentist at Admire Dental noticed my partner needed all four wisdom teeth pulled, but needed to have it done by an oral surgeon, as they are definitely not in the best condition. She understood, and left with a referral on pre printed paper for an oral surgeon, Dr. Ean James, who was conveniently located only seconds down the road. We called Hartford Cty. Oral Surgery (this place here), and made an appointment to get the teeth looked at and pulled. She went to the consult. Without ever asking her to remove her mask, the doctor, Ean R. James, okays her for surgery. Doesn't even see all 4 teeth in the x ray, but takes her word that 4 teeth are in need of removal. Never, not once, did this man even look at her teeth, or review her medication or medical history. He then committed to put her under Anesthesia. This made her very uncomfortable. As soon as she came home she told me of this. We figured, "ok this isn't right", lets see if we can get a 2nd opinion. So, we researched this practice and dentist- to find out Ean R. James has engaged in over $140k in Medicaid fraud and has failed to renew his anesthetist license multiple times, practicing on patients with no license for who-knows-how-long. I know there are not many options for adult Husky/Medicaid patients when it comes to oral surgery. UConn Dental Hospital is worth the wait. I wouldn't recommend this particular practice to my worst enemy.

FOR A CLEANING. They said they could do it for $127 without the exam/flouride. Nice of them, right? Not so much--I don't need the exam after all of the work I had in January. So they basically want to charge $127 just to clean my teeth when that's supposed to be preventative. I told Nicole I didn't think that was right and she told me to have a great day. What a joke. Zero customer service---not to mention they never told me ahead of time so I just drove a half an hour for nothing. I should have listened to my gut and never tried to use them in the first place. What a nasty business they run. Absolutely disgusting. Also-- I double checked what a cleaning costs without insurance-- $125 and they wanted to charge me $257 WITH insurance. Then they write some generic response to my review--looks like they have a lot of 1 star reviews to tend to though. This is the absolute last place I would EVER recommend to anyone.

I recently found out that there is a class action lawsuit against them for deceiving patients.

The provider took insurance information but did not disclose they are an out of network provider. At the consultation, CTMAX did a cone beam x-ray that is not covered by our insurance but did not disclose this and did not advise prior to doing the x-ray that there would be any out of pocket costs. After completing the x-ray, they charged $295. We anticipate receiving additional bills for the consultation based on the provider being out of network.
