Horrible place. Terrified staff did nothing whilst their receptionist denied me care. I have never before been to a doctors office where they let the person who answers the phone participate in the patient care plan. Gloria was rude and disrespectful. And when another staff member came to talk to me, she specifically physically stopped him and said do not talk to her. I could see by the looks on the faces of the staff that they are terrified of her. I have seen reviews specifically stating her name that she is mean. I have been on the phone with corporate and I highly suggest they go and listen to some of the phone calls, this woman makes and participating. Gloria is bad for business. I came in willing to spend about $5000 cash today. And because I hurt her feelings on the phone earlier, she told me I couldn't be seen. I'm pretty sure the corporation won't be thrilled that she passed up an opportunity for the company to make money because her feelings were hurt. I would say this is a one time thing, but I saw other reviews specifically stating her name. She hung up the phone on me multiple times. She has absolutely no business representing your business. I have spoken to corporate. I don't believe they're gonna do anything. I am actually terrified because this person has my personal information. And I don't think she values HPPA. She stood up and wanted to fight me. This girl is going to do something to me. I have never had a worse experience in literally any retail establishment in all 50 years of my living. Don't go here. Terrible place. Does not honor seven year warranty on purchased denture. Denture broke four tiimes in a six week period because of poor workmanship. They will not honor a replacement instead telling me it will cost me $895.00 to fix their problem. Prior to the third time breaking the dentist /owner with the accent assured me the warranty would apply. He is a liar, after spending thousands extra for the "Best of the Best" with a 7 yr warranty. Don't trust this place they will B.S. you. I contacted the BBB and at the very least if they dont want to rectify the problem they will be down graded , my large family has already gotten the message and "they will pass the word" to friends and inlaws. UNETHICAL & MONEY-HUNGRY!!! I broke a tooth on my denture this morning and gave them a call. I was told they could fix/replace the broken tooth within a few hours and that I could come right in. Once I finished the paperwork and was taken in the back, they INSISTED I NEEDED X-RAYS! I don't have a real tooth in my mouth and THEY REFUSED TO SEE ME UNLESS I GOT X-RAYS! I walked out and found another dentist who took care of my broken denture...they could not believe ANY DENTIST would ask for x-rays to fix HARDWARE! Buyer beware when they ask you to prepay for services. I was given an estimate for over $1400 on multiple procedures. I gave them $802 deposit and another $141 later. When insurance processed, my patient responsibility was $438. They overcharged me $505 and are refusing to refund. Their creative accounting includes charging 10x what I was obligated to pay. I had 4 identical charges. Patient responsibility for each was 16.80. Two were billed correctly. Two billed at 160.06 and 160.07. I was charged another 179.00 for X-rays with a zero patient responsibility. I have sent them the EOBs from the insurance and they continue to answer with "there is a zero balance on this account." I am five months into fighting with them over this. Initially they said they could not correct anything while there were outstanding charges. So I had to cancel all further procedures. read more

0 Stars if I could. Tried to call to reschedule my appt and there phone was not accepting my call. No voicemail option so you're SOL if they don't answer. Always a long wait past appt times, but today I got pulled in 5 minutes before my scheduled time and was feeling hopeful. Sitting in the chair all geared up for over 30 minutes listening to the doctor still midway into his appointment with another patient and talking about the Olympics with the other staff. They could not provide an ETA for my start time even though it was pre-scheduled. This office should not be overscheduling patients to this degree. Shameful. read more

UPDATE: This is now just about the SEVENTH time I've requested my records to be sent to my new dentist since the beginning of January. (It's almost February). Originally, they sent my records from 2015, which is laughable since I've had nine years of X-rays since then. I have been back and forth with about 4 emails and 3 phone calls requesting for them to send my updated records and it still hasn't been completed. I'm not sure how this type of conduct is allowed. Hopefully this review will get somebody to FINALLY complete the request. After first quoting me $4000 more than the procedure would cost with my insurance and trying to get me to sit in the chair and have the procedure before giving me the cost... it's just the icing on the cake that it's been a month and they STILL are failing at conducting business properly. Went to aspen dental for a broken tooth was told that it needed to be yanked out cannot be saved. I was told I needed a $2500 cleaning and then another $2600 to get the tooth pulled . I am getting a cleaning for $159 went somewhere else and my tooth could be saved and it cost me $160. I would not recommend this place at all highway robbery. Not impressed. read more

Based on OUR EXPERIENCE, If I could I would give this place NO stars at all, one of the staff ladies with an accent was very rude when making a phone call to make an appointment for my girlfriend, once we got past that, I brought her to her appointment which was for 12pm, we got there 15 minutes early (11:45) and checked in, we WAITED OVER an hour and thirty five minutes before we even got acknowledged in the waiting room. Not to mention, she was in extreme pain, and the male doctor with the accent kept poking at the exposed nerve over and over and over again, she was balling her eyes out asking him to stop. I went to Aspen Dental yesterday (Saturday) for a chipped front tooth. The ladies that work here are amazing. I have trouble getting x-rays and they took extra care to get it done. They wanted to get the chipped tooth area done so I could be seen by the dentist. After that very difficult task was completed the dentist would not see me unless I got a full mouth of x-rays. Even if that was able to be accompanied my visit wouldn't happen same day! I'm supposed to leave for a business trip Monday AM. Thanks for noting. The dentist never even saw or spoke to me. I would never go back. I'm sorry for the staff that has to work with such a terrible certainly not patient focused dentist. I'd give the staff 10 stars but dentist zero. read more

First initial visit was to get xrays and examinations. They ended up being 45 mins behind schedule. In addition my whole visit took over 3 hours because their systems were lagging. Administrative work took the longest. Staff seemed pleasant and informative. Dr. explained what I needed done and I understood most of it. When it came down to the finances that's when SHTF. The work I needed done was quite expensive even after my insurance coverage. The amount out of pocket definitely required a 3rd party payment plan. However I called the next day to cancel all work and asked for refund, staff became less pleasant. Who wouldn't? But don't show it. They have updated equipment, new facility, but after reading other reviews - I'm convinced they are ultimately after the money. read more

I have had extensive dental work done in my years, and this place was nice and refreshing. I enjoyed meeting Dr. Patrick D., his staff was helpful and very nice and thorough, especially the x-ray tech, and office manager! They did not charge me for my first visit as a new patient, and I also received free x-rays! I will be returning! :) read more

Do not go to an Aspen Dental. They suck royally. All week I've been battling bad tooth pain from a deep cavity I had filled. Went to the office 4 times this week, each time was told nothing was wrong with the tooth. The gums need a deep cleaning. And that would help solve the problem. I had the deep cleaning, no help. Went to the er the pain was so bad. Went to a different dentist today, took one look in my mouth and said I have a bad gum infection and possibe nerve damage from the filling. Made appointment online stating I had tooth pain and wanted to have tooth pulled. After getting a call from them beforehand they said they probably wouldn't be able to extract same day without even seeing me yet. I went in and they took a hundred X-rays,scanned teeth and then dr came in was a complete arrogant prick stated that I need to have four teeth removed told me I grind my teeth and that I would need partial dentures... never asking if I was in pain or offering antibiotics for infection..when I asked if they would be removing painful tooth his snippy reply was "first we need to discuss payments and scheduling the work" still never asking if I was having pain or discomfort... I was then put back into the waiting room to see the "office manager" for payments and scheduling of work.... If this place was on fire and they were locked inside I would break a window to let these money greedy people out... it was never about comforting me it was only about crawling in my wallet and setting up camp... I will do everything in my power to make sure people know that this is just a money grab... these people would make great car salesmen.. disgusting to think how they would take advantage of elderly people in need... The worst. Bright spot was how nice everyone was but I didn't go there to get smiled at. I wanted to get my teeth cleaned. They kept me waiting an hour and wouldn't clean my teeth because they wanted me to get a more expensive procedure done first (unnecessary btw). They then scheduled me for the other procedure that they couldn't do because I am pregnant - which they knew -but wasted my time anyway. someone, hygenist dentist i dont, know poked around in my mouth calling out numbers, then someone else came to smile in my face and tell me why they couldnt clean my teeth or do the proceedure today. They sdeduled me for an appt in my 2nd term when it would be safer but then called a day before the appt. to cancel it. Office manager was nice guy but was circling like a vulture in the procedure room waiting to get me to sign papers for the more expensive procedure he was all too happy to tell me was completely covered by my insurance. Absolute worst staff I've ever heard of. I had to call everyday for 3 weeks to actually never get an answer. The. When I would ask to speak with the office manager they would tell me he/she was with a patient and would write my name and number down for them to call me back. This place is horrible! I arrived for my appointment 6 mins late, bringing my baby and nanny in tow. Standing at reception for 4 mins before being regarded and checked in. THEN after filling out my new patient forms for 5 mins and giving them back I'm told I need to reschedule because I was 10 mins late!!! Mind you- I was the first appointment and NO one was there. Absoulute THE WORST!!!! Would not recommend anyone. My GPS directed me to South Windsor by accident called them to tell them I'd be late because of the misdirection. I was walking so it took awhile the called me when I was a outside the door I told them I was right outside when I got in they all ignored me for 10mins until one came to speak to me stating the were very busy and the doctor couldn't see me. There was only ONE person in the waiting room doing paperwork. I explained my situation but they insisted the wait will be almost 2 hours and asked me to reschedule. Smh. I would give this place 0 stars, if possible. They are not respective of your time. I waited for 1 HOUR for a cleaning. The first 15 minutes, they said that the cleaner was almost done. Then they forgot about me and I waited for 1 hour to see the cleaner. She was watching TV when cleaning my teeth and did not do such a good job. The Xray technitian was also nice at first, but when she hurt me and I did not hold the painful position, she got mad and was rude. I was told that I have a cavity (I take excellent care of my teeth) and that it needed to be filled. The doctors are all young there, recent graduates and not paid as well as in other offices. I went to another office in West Hartford for another consultation and 2 dentists told me that I had a very tiny plague/cavity formation that would most likely not grow if I kept of taking good care of my teeth. It is something that is common and there is no need to drill into a tooth for that. Aspen dental was just trying to make money. I decided to switch my dentist and get my Xrays from Aspen. It took 1 MONTH to get a pring out on a sheet of paper or difficult to read Xray. They kept on saying that they ordered ink. I had to push an appointment in another office 4 times because I could not bring in Xray from Aspen. Front staff are rude and not knowledgeable. This place is terrible, seriously... find a family dentist place where you may be more respected and better taken care of. This is a chain of offices where the human touch is lost. read more

I came from a family owned dentist, Dr. Karta in Manchester. I was with them for my whole life. I was forced to go elsewhere due to the limited options of my new dental insurance with my new job. About Aspen - It's very impersonal. Always someone different at the front desk. No one knows you. You hardly ever get greeted, you just see the sign in sheet and assume you sign in so that's what you do, and sit down and wait.. They are always late taking me in, usually at least 15 minutes every time. I have a job to get back to so this is inconvenient for me. I was overhearing them joke while I was waiting. I felt like they could at least address to me that someone would be with me shortly.... then I heard them say the dentists car broke down and wouldn't make it so they were calling people to cancel appointments. I would think if you're a dentist you should really have a reliable car. Anyways, I'm finally called in to get a teeth cleaning. It was very painful. She was SO ROUGH on me. I go every 6 months and my teeth are in good shape so I think the level of roughness was uncalled for. I was even squinting my eyes due to the pain. Mind you, my teeth are healthy, it shouldn't hurt this much. I developed a headache and nausea due to the pain when I got home. It's like she had something against me. I've never experienced such roughness before. It was done very quickly without care. I miss my old dentist. They would check on you to make sure you're alright or need a break. They were gentle. They would tell you to stop them if you feel any pain. I don't get any of this treatment at Aspen. Not once did she check on me, or simply apologize for hurting me. I used to enjoy the dentist. Now I dread going. I only go to this one because I have no other options. read more

Seems this place preys on people who don't have insurance. I went there for a cleaning and wound up getting an entire crown replaced. It's like they looked at my old crown (which was fine) and saw dollar signs in their eyes. I now cannot put food or drink on that side of my mouth without tremendous pain. Just called them again to set an appointment and the receptionist sounds disappointed when I told her that I actually have dental insurance now. if you need dental work done, do not, i repeat do not go to aspen dental!!!!! i went to this facility with a severe toothache. I have dentures on the top and only six teeth remaining on the bottom. they insisted on x-rays for those remaining teeth, even though anyone can tell just be looking that they all are in need of replacement. however, you can charge for x-rays. the dentist then said she would pull the bad tooth, and she disappeared. I was told to wait in the waiting room, which i thought was odd, but i went to the waiting room and waited. I was then called into an office to talk to the finance manager(who was very nice). for the next thirty minutes I was told what the dentist recommended, it ranged from new dentures, to implants, to new top dentures(supposedly because they're over seven years old. when i said that the dentist told me she would pull the tooth, I was told she had gone to lunch!!!!!!! after about 45 minutes and quotes between 12,000 and 13,000 dollars, I was in tears n told this person I just wanted my tooth pulled. she then talked me into applying for care credit, which I didnt want or need, I finally said through tears that all i wanted and could afford was to have my tooth pulled.In short, I left w my toothache. it's very apparent that aspen dental is more interested in making money than in taking care of patients. one of the worst experiencess I have ever had! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!! I set up an appointment on Friday to be seen Saturday morning. When I set up the appointment I told them I don't have x-rays, but have requested them from previous provider. Saturday morning I arrived and was NEVER seen by the dentist (because I did not not x-rays). In fact, they NEVER even looked in my mouth and the office manager told me I would need to reschedule. This was supposed to be an emergency appointment, yet they did not care about my tooth pain. So I left and told them I would not be returning. Yet, this is what ads say: You'll sit down with your dentist to chat about your dental treatment, medical history, and why you're here. Next, is a thorough oral exam to help us diagnose a comprehensive treatment plan that's right for you. Horrible service! Even if you have the first appointment of the day, you will still wait for half an hour. On your first "comprehensive" visit, you will spend almost two hours but not get a cleaning. Instead they will take full X-rays, perform an oral exam, and try to up-sell you overpriced fluoride treatments. They insist that they cannot clean your teeth on your first visit for "liability" reasons. You will be asked to prepay for your future treatments. Aspen Dental is a faceless corporate entity that that has grown complacent due to its contracts with dental insurance companies. You will be treated like a number instead of a human being. Very bad place. My appointment was postponed 3 times. Make sure you check the bills. They put random charges, and when questioned, had no idea where it came from. They later removed it. Pay after you are done, or at least pay only for 1 thing at a time. They will bill you for two things before starting and then will do only one. They will schedule the second sitting for some day and then keep postponing it. At the end of it, I am still having pains. Will not return to this place. read more

I hadn't been to the dentist in a long time and knew I need my teeth pulled and dentures on the bottom of my mouth. The work done was excellent. They were very accommodating when I had issues with my immediate dentures. When I got my final dentures they fit perfect... haven't even needed adhesive to fit. My only complaint was the excessive reminders on my appointments. One from the office is all that's needed. read more

Having poor teeth and I knew I had a cavity. According to them I had 6 and 5 of them needed root canals and a partial and, and... total 5000. They really push financing the whole thing. I figured not being interdependently wealthy I would trust them and get what I could afford done. I would have the 5 worst pulled. well they were 5 surgical extractions (more money, 1300). I had the it done and no stitches, bleed for nine hours waiting one socket to clot in pain. For pain I got Tylenol with codeine which made the pain tolerable (my pain threshold is high from Krav Maga). Called (it was after hours) and waited for a call back that never came. Next day went in and the bleeding is normal, did I take the meds, did I call the right number as if it was my fault. Two days after the bruises on my face started appearing. read more

The office manager tried to sneak in TWO toothbrushes just for me, and when I asked to remove them she ignored my request after I double checked the bill. The doctor handling my treatment plan went for the most expensive option they have. The interesting part was that after I reviewed my expected bill for the third time and removing three or four items they though I would miss, the bill went up!! they tried to make up reasons for this but then I just left and switched to another provider. Don't go to this place... Run away.. They doesn't have any knowledge on the bills procedures,payments etc.. They just keeps on sending the bills even after one year of service done. Me and my husband went there for cleaning,which nearly took whole month to complete the service, during that time they said to pay50$ and rest is covered by insurance.. And before starting the procedure I clearly said that if it is going to be more than 100$ I definitely doesn't take your service, she assured me that only 50$ for each one of you, so we payed 100$ and done ,after that the story started they just keep on sending me the bills , I just called them several times they just say that we will work on that and will correct the statements..but still I'm getting the bills and they sent my bill for collections..I really got vexed And called them in last December and that time they said that my bill is settled so I doesn't need to pay anymore... Went here for an exam after leaving another practice that kept jerking me around on appointments. Previous place wanted to do a cleaning and a filling. When Aspen finished with the exam they said I needed 6 fillings and a fancy periodontal procedure that needed to be done instead of a regular cleaning. In fact, they said they would not do the regular cleaning until the other process was done first. My insurance mandates that I get a regular cleaning and Aspen assured me this process would count in lieu of the regular cleaning and I would still be compliant. To top it off, I was also looking at at $1200 out of pocket expense for all this work. Of course Aspen was ready to start work right away. My exam consisted of x-Rays, then an in mouth inspection that included a measuring of gum gap (this is the set up for the special treatment), an dentist interpretation of the x-Rays, and finally a visit with a 'Manager'. The manager seemed more interested in payment options than anything else. To say the least, I felt like I was getting a rush job to do all this work. I postponed the first visit and arranged for a 'second opinion' with another dentist practice. They said that the periodontal treatment was not necessary, but I did need the fillings. I ended up going with the 'second opinion' dentist and cancelled/left Aspen. I wrote this review because I feel Aspen's business method is borderline unethical. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that every new patient gets this railroading. read more
