Loved it! It's not a…read morebig place--just five tables with four seats each in the enclosed "outdoor" dining area, plus the bar, which seats another dozen or so. But that's part of the charm. Cozy. Hometown. The New England clam chowder was superb. The fried clam strips were incredibly light and airy--not heavy or greasy at all. The steamed shrimp was flavorful, and the green salad was impressively fresh. The coleslaw was just mid for me--it needed a little more punch--but that's definitely a personal preference. This isn't cheap fast food. We spent about $100 for dinner for two, including tip, with no drinks. But the quality of the food made it feel worthwhile. Anthony was an absolute pleasure to meet. He shared a little of his family's history with the restaurant and we discussed family, travels, and other adventures. That personal interaction made an already great meal even more memorable. Great little spot with excellent seafood and a lot of personality. We'd happily come back!

I have ordered takeout before but today I just needed a moment to sit and enjoy something comforting . This place and the chowder did the trick. The place has been around since the 30's so that says a lot. They do have tables outdoor under a tent but I love the nostalgic vibe of the inside counter with the little stools. You can watch them fry up all the goodies. I was immediately greeted, sat and my beautiful bowl of chowder came. The service is endearing and though my first time dining in, they treated me like I was a regular and they do with everyone. Maybe that's why they have been around so long. Good food is great but service that makes you feel like you are a regular is top tier. As The clouds rolled in the thunder struck and as the rain poured down, I enjoyed my lovely bowl of New England clam chowder. They are heavy on the fresh clams and just right on the potatoes. They do have the red chowder and their Long Island version which is a mix of the 2. This just hit the spot all around and on a day like I was having today, filled my soul. I'll BE BAck for the good fried goodies next time. Thank you!

The first thing you notice is that getting there feels like navigating a maze since it's tucked away in a secluded location. But the moment you walk through the doors, you're welcomed by a warm, relaxing atmosphere that instantly feels like home. You're always greeted with a friendly smile and a genuine "Hello, welcome!" The food is consistently outstanding, and the drinks are always on point. I have to give a special shoutout to our favorite server, Elaine. She is always approachable, kind, and makes us feel like family. Every visit feels personal--she remembers us, asks how we've been, and even knows our usual orders before we ask. That level of service is rare and truly appreciated. One of my favorite parts of dining here is sitting outside by the water. Watching the planes fly low overhead creates a unique atmosphere that almost makes you feel like you're traveling. I absolutely love Bayhouse and highly recommend it to anyone looking for delicious food, exceptional service, and a relaxing waterfront dining experience. It's a hidden gem that's well worth the visit!

When we arrived, the hostess was pushing the all you can eat option for $60/pp so we said why not. (*4 ppl, 2 adults, 2 kids) The menu offered appetizers, up to 5 to expedite the order which was served family style (meaning the size was not for each individual). All good, ordered the basics - fries, onions rings, shrimp fish and oysters. Thought I would throw in lobster rolls (which were mini) because why not. And then the main meal we came for, seafood boil. Paid extra for lobster, which we all know is mostly shell and little meat. They packed the boils with sausage barely any potato but still we had leftovers. Nothing out of the ordinary...like any other meal you order apps & a main course. That is it. So we think let wrap this up what we didn't eat and head out. BUT NO....they want to enforce an excessive leftover policy which didn't make sense for our order. No second appetizers or meals ordered...no extra drinks. Paid for the xtras that wasn't included and then you want to charge $15/ lb to pack leftovers (in a ziplock bag no less) for the meal we paid for???? Absolutely NOT. I wanted to get a desert and sing my child Happy Birthday but instead was met with an unreasonable policy that didn't apply to our order. DONT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE!!! I understand that people may abuse the AYCE concept, but how does a restaurant justify throwing away food when they claim their policy is to minimize food waste!?!?!?! So I argued but I was exhausted by the baseless policy and agreed to a $10 charge. For a $350 bill, that $10 charge will keep me away from this restaurant chain forever. Ridiculous....they could have gotten additional $$$ from a drink, coffee and desserts. Instead they fought over $10 because the of a misleading policy.

The Chef's Table in Lynbrook was a really impressive experience from start to finish…read more It's tucked away on Watkins Street just off Merrick Road, so it definitely has that true hidden gem feel. The restaurant is warm, comfortable and a little more upscale without feeling stuffy. White tablecloths, great service and very reasonable prices. The service deserves a mention on its own because everyone was incredibly attentive, friendly and genuinely seemed to care about making sure we had a great experience. I started with an Espresso Martini, which was honestly one of the best I've had, followed by a Lychee Martini that was also excellent. For food, the Calamari con Gamberi was a standout for me. I actually prefer calamari braised like this instead of breaded, and theirs was tender and full of flavor with shrimp, cherry peppers, white beans and tomato sauce. The Chef's Table Salad with shrimp was super fresh and light. The goat cheese, pear, prosciutto, pistachios and lemon thyme dressing all worked really well together without the dressing overpowering anything. The Lobster & Crab Ravioli was excellent and that saffron cream sauce was the star. I can absolutely see why this is one of their best sellers. I also tried the Pollo alla Franca with Bell & Evans organic chicken, prosciutto, spinach, artichokes, mozzarella and Port wine mushroom sauce. Rich, flavorful and very well executed. Even though I'm normally not a big dessert person, they make all of their desserts in-house, so I had to try a few. The flourless chocolate cake, warm apple tart and Belgian chocolate mousse were all excellent, especially that mousse -- very rich with a strong Belgian chocolate flavor. This was my first time here, but definitely not my last. Great Italian food, excellent cocktails, fantastic service and a true neighborhood hidden gem. Highly recommend.

We were lucky enough to stop in during long island resturant week and participate in the prefix meal. I had the research salad which was fresh and sauce. The shrimp scampi with spaghetti...the sauce was soo good and the apple tart for dessert. The chicken parm was ok but the vodka sauce another hit. Unfortunately the caprese salad and eggplant balls fell short. Will go back again for light bites
