My first time here was 2 years ago and a very pleasant experience. Came to celebrate my wife's birthday and she had a blast - mission accomplished. We had a large party but the owner made accommodations, provided us with a nice birthday set up complete with balloons and there were games available for us to play at the table that helped make it an interactive experience. Not to mention the DJ was also playing good music. We got mixed reviews from our guests about their food but overall it was a great first experience. Fast forward to yesterday, vibes were similar. They seemed a little short staffed for a brunch day buy the server/bartender was doing the best she could with a very upbeat pleasant demeanor. We noticed the Manager come in as we were seated but she seemed reoccupied so we didn't get a chance to greet her. Our food came out and it was pretty good, my wife would've wanted her waffles a little more cooked but the food came out exactly how we ordered so she would know better to mention that next time. The main issue was there was a piece of metal from a metal cleaning pad in my Waffle. I mentioned it to the Server and she brought it to her manager only to come back and tell me she was told it was from when the Waffle machine got cleaned and she offered me a new Waffle. I had already eaten just about my whole meal so I didn't think replacing it would make sense. She gave us a round of shots before we paid the bill but I just would have liked it more if the owner had come and at least acknowledged the issue before we left. At first I parked on the street. Once I walked in I was the only customer. The young lady greeted me she was nice and she let me know there was parking around the block. The place is dark inside. Music is ok. There is one bathroom. The drinks are good. The boil is OK. They do let you taste the Sauces before buying. Overall the place is ok . I've had this place on my list for a long time. Finally went yesterday (Sunday) at 5pm for dinner with some friends. I'm glad I finally got to cross it off my list but wouldn't go back. It was a very underwhelming experience. The drinks were a huge disappointment. I had the lychee martini- way too sweet. The waitress offered an extra shot to curb that- didn't really change it. My friends had the hennyrita, passion fruit margarita, and a strawberry whiskey sour. The passion fruit margarita was the only decent one, the others had no taste, just not mixed well. The seafood boils lacked flavor. Two of us ordered the "Cajun mania" with mania special sauce which costs $50. You only get 1 cluster of crab legs and it was very small, 2 small fingerling/creamer potatoes, 1 piece of corn, 6 shrimp, and a whole bunch of black mussels. I don't think the quality/portion matched the price. Another friend had the pick 3 trio and chose shrimp, fish, calamari, and fries. This was $48 and it was worth it because the quality, taste/flavor, and portion matched the price. Everything was fried to golden perfection. My other friend had the fried lobster combo which came with shrimp and mac and cheese for $50. This was also worth the price based on the quality and portion. She said the mac and cheese was okay but enjoyed everything else. The service could be better too. The waitress was friendly but not very attentive to our table. It has a crab spot theme, remind me of bikini bottom from the SpongeBob cartoon; nonetheless it had pictures and wall art that makes it stand out. Me and my friends started off with drinks and the drinks were okay. The food was good, the hot &honey shrimp was one of the best things that I tried off the menu. The fries and the fried shrimp was okay, I wouldn't get the fries again. My friend said the lamb chops and the garlic mash was really good. The lobster pasta was good as well, the sauce was a little salty but I also try to stay away from salt. So that may be the reason I felt the pasta was salty. The lobster shell was placed on top of the pasta for decoration be advised the lobster meat is cut in chunks and in the pasta. The restaurant had a hangout feel to it. Almost felt as if I was at a house party, someone had the aux cord playing music off of their phone. At some points I couldn't hear my friend talking and she was sitting beside me. This restaurant is more of a chill / casual vibe. Would not go here if you are expecting a classy / elegant vibe. The staff were friendly, and we didn't have much trouble ordering out food. The restaurant closed at 12 but around 11:40 they started putting up chairs and preparing to close while me and my party were still sitting there. I get the staff wants to get a head start so they can go home. So keep that in mind if you plan to go here to eat. Seafood maniaaaa did not disappoint at all, it was a regular Sunday and I wanted to get my girlfriend and her family together. It was a special weeekend to celebrate in the memory of her mother who recently passed. I ordered the Tres Leches French toast with fried shrimp on the side, my girlfriend had the shrimp and waffles, my friend has the salmon and grits, my other friend has the salmon and Rasta pasta. Let me tell you not one thing disappointed us, everything was was seasoned so well and tasty. We had a 1:30pm reservation and we stayed until 9pm, we we accommodated each and everytime we were asked to move for a prior reservation. Lively vibe. I went here for brunch on a Saturday. First to arrive but the entire staff was attentive and accommodating. They are still working with the first opening menu so it seems a little paired down but definitely enough options. The kitchen accommodated substitutions which was a plus. The food was delicious. We had French toast with fried chicken wings and the fried fish and grits topped with a lobster tail. Seasoned well. Nice size proportions. And yes... the drinks were really good. I found this place on TikTok and I was super excited as a pescatarian bc lobster add ons are very rare. Firstly, I started with a reservation of 10 because I had family from out of town, we ended up with a table of 17 and they were so nice and accommodating!! Came here for Taco Tuesday. For starters they have different opening times on their website and on IG so we were not sure if and when they opened and when happy hour started. We ended up getting there 5mins before happy hour was ending. Our waiting was nice. The $2 drinks and tacos come in 2, so you have to order 2 drinks and 2 drinks for them to honor the $2. What boil do you know contains no corn or potatoes??? Their special mania sauce was VERY oily and had absolutely no flavor. My son and I were craving Seafood Boil. Not wanting to drive too far, we searched for one nearby. When I saw that Seafood Mania was new and women owned, my son, and I decided to try them out. First, I called to make sure they were open and then asked if they served a seafood boil. The lady on the phone was very nice. She told me that this was a soft opening and they had a limited menu. She told me the price which I thought was higher than others but we decided to go and just share the $70 BIG BOI which had Snow Grab Legs, Lobster Tail, Shrimps, Mussels, Potato, Corn. When we walked in, we were greeted by three women with a smile. However, there were more than just the three women there. Two or three more were seated at the bar, and they were very clearly part of the staff, but they didn't acknowledged us. I found this to be strange only because we were the only customers that walked in there and we have been to a few soft openings. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE, greeted us with enthusiasm but I guess not at Seafood Mania! Anyway, the server, who was one of the three who greeted us, showed us to our table. She handed us the limited menu. If I remember correctly, there was a Caesar salad, Mania salad, clam chowder, a few fried appetizers, skirt steak and two of their seafood boils. One of the seafood boil was $45 called CAJAN MANIA and it had Snow Crab Legs, Shrimps, Mussels, Potato, Corn. A lobster tail added was the extra $25 for the boil that they called the BIG BOI. The nice lady on the phone told me that it was good for a bag of leftovers the next day. That translated to a dinner for two to me. Since we were sharing the Big Boi, we decided to also order the Caesar salad and the chowder. The server told us that they were out of Caesar salad but they do have a Greek Salad which I guess they renamed as Mania Salad. In the menu it stated that it didn't have onions and olives so I guess it isn't a Greek salad? I asked if the chowder was white or red. She said white and that it was very good. I ordered it and it was neither white nor red. Well, maybe red but a real dark red. I actually think it was their mania sauce with tiny chopped pieces of canned clams and a bunch of what I believe was cilantro, also chopped but the stems were left in and it made for an unpleasant experience for my son and I. The server told us to give an honest feedback because they need to know if changes could be made. So I told her. She continued to smile, thanked me because the owners "really want to know," and then told me she would let them know. The Big Boi was served with fireworks that we could taste in the broth that once again had the same overpowering mania sauce. It did not come like the way your average boils are served. It didn't look like the way their Cajan Mania is presented on their website, in a plastic bag like we expected. The Big Boi came in a very big Martini glass. It only had 1 tiny corn and 1 small potato. I do believe that there's a good amount of shrimp and some mussels and although we didn't like the broth, it would have been a nice touch to serve this with Italian bread or any bread for that matter so we could dip it in the broth, an option for those that like the broth. I asked for ramen to be added, a $5 up charge. But my son was avoiding carbs and didn't want it. The cook was kind enough to serve it on the side. However, what was served was spaghetti tossed in guess what? Mania sauce! By the way, they bottled versions of this sauce for sale. I wish that it was communicated to me that they didn't have ramen to give me the option to say yes or no to the spaghetti instead of just serving it to me and hoping I wouldn't complain. At least they removed the $5 charge. After all, I didn't eat it after I had a taste. The ambience? It was too dark. We couldn't see what we were eating. How would we know if there are unknown floaters in there? But that was not the reason we asked for the light to be turned up a little. That was just an afterthought. Anyway, the place is nicely decorated. We enjoyed the painted walls & the usual sea creatures hanging above us & mounted on the walls. They have a nice couch in the waiting area. If you are going there, bring a sweater or a jacket. Maybe it was just because it was empty that we felt cold, but yeah, it was chilly in there. We also had to ask for paper napkins because they weren't provided. The waitress dropped off a pitcher of water on our table. I'm really not sure how I feel about that. I feel like it is the job of a server to serve and that includes pouring and refilling our glass unless we asked for the pitcher of water so that we wouldn't have to wait for a refill. Listen, the place is new and at the moment, like anything and everything new, there is gonna be some trial and error. I hope that this review is read as constructive criticism. I recently attended Seafood Mania for the first time, for a friend's son's 13th birthday party. My friend rented the place for a few hours prior to its opening. For full transparency, when I heard it was a black-owned establishment, I immediately went in thinking the worst. However, let me tell you, their hospitality was unmatched! They were professional the entire event; the food came out hot and on time, and the parents had access to a full bar! Samantha was the bartender, and sis was a magician with the drinks. Khadijah was our beautiful waitress, and no matter how many times we stopped and asked for something, she didn't hesitate to assist, and her energy was welcoming. What I also liked about this place was, for this 13th birthday party, they provided the DJ (who hit all the smooth grooves; our kids weren't dancing, so he catered to the parents lol, we loved it), they provided a creative, well-thought-out menu, and get this, they also provided entertainment for the kids that was not asked of them. This place is a scam and full of thieves . I went with party of 2 during happy hour . We had 1 bottle of sparking water , 3 orders of $2 drinks , happy hour wings and fries , $2 chicken tacos ( 2 orders ) and shots 5 shots ! Service was slow due to having one waitress . We get the bill it's $424.23 and added gratuity. When asked why is there an 20% gratuity , they said bc it's an event . Lies lies lies a dj is an event ? After reviewing bill in full , she overcharged us and charges regular menu prices opposed to happy hour . After 25 min or reviewing bill, it came down to $173 . I'll never return ! Sad read more
