My friend took me to Bonefish Grill in Long Island to celebrate my birthday, and it turned out to be a memorable experience, both for the great food and a few unexpected hiccups. We started with warm, complimentary bread and olive oil, a simple but delicious welcome. For appetizers, we ordered the Potato & Corn Chowder, Lump Crab, Bang Bang Shrimp, and Truffle Fries. The chowder was creamy and comforting, the lump crab was fresh, and the Bang Bang Shrimp had that perfect spicy crunch it's known for. The truffle fries were crisp and fragrant. Definitely a crowd pleaser. Our drinks, the Blueberry Refresher and the Coral Reef Punch were refreshing and flavorful, great picks for a celebratory dinner. For entrées, we enjoyed the Scallops & Shrimp Scampi Pasta and the 9 oz Sirloin with Garlic Whipped Potatoes. The pasta was rich with garlic and perfectly cooked seafood, while the sirloin was tender and paired wonderfully with the smooth, buttery potatoes. I ordered a second one to-go, However, the one downside of the evening was the unexpected mosquito/gnat issue. Every few seconds, we found ourselves waving our hands over our food and drinks to keep them away. It was distracting and took away from an otherwise enjoyable meal. Even in the bathroom, the same issue continued, which was disappointing. As a first timer the food and drinks were fantastic and the service solid, but the persistent bug problem definitely impacted the experience. I actually came here twice this week, and I'm glad I did because I had a good time plus the food and drinks were good. I came earlier in the week for their "social hour," where you can get drinks and appetizers at a discounted rate (drinks were $7). They also have $5 martinis and margaritas on Mondays for a limited time, so Monday is definitely a fun day. I tried the blueberry lemon drop, which was very good, and the mango bourbon sour, which was really good as well. Before coming the second time, I already had a reservation booked for their "Merry Martini 5-Course Martini Pairing Dinner." After visiting earlier in the week, I knew it would be a good time and it was. My favorite martinis, in order, were the Frosted Rosemary Pomegranate, which was smooth, sweet, and well-balanced; the Partridge in a Pear Tree, which had a crisp taste from the pear vodka while still being light with a subtle finish; and the Winter White Cosmo, which had a little kick but remained subtle overall. Out of the five courses, my favorites were the lobster-stuffed shrimp, the filet mignon, and the crab cake with bang hollandaise sauce. Everything was flavorful, filling, and presented well & we eat with our eyes first! My only two critiques: the bang chicken bites didn't really do it for me, but the bang bang shrimp was very good. During the tasting, my friend's and my soup was cool, and when we mentioned it to our server (who was extremely nice and gave 5-star service), he brought us new soup, but it was still cool. We decided to take it to go because the flavor was good, but since it contained scallops and shrimp, I told my friend we shouldn't take another bite and we didn't. I love soup and eat it year-round, so I wish it had been hot. Overall, I had a great time both days and was with great company. The customer service was good, and the staff didn't rush us or hover over us, which I appreciated. I had one of the worst restaurant experiences here. We had reservations for 8:00 PM, but still had to wait in a line just to speak to the host. By the time we reached the hostess, it was already 8:15 PM. We were seated, but the service never followed. It is now 8:42 PM as I write this, and not a single waiter or waitress has come to our table, not even to greet us, offer water, or acknowledge that we are sitting here. At this point, we've been waiting over 20 minutes at the table with absolutely no service. If no one comes to acknowledge us in the next few minutes, we will be leaving. During the bourbon night I won a bottle of Woodford reserve and we also got free coupons for some bang bang shrimp! The food is pretty tasty (overall the food experiences have been a 4/5 and I've been to 4 of these events). Crispy Bang Artichoke Salad paired W Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc 5/5 came out quick, flavors were unique and I've never thought about frying an artichoke and putting it in bang bang sauce. Smoky crab & shrimp Risotto - 3.8.... had good flavor but I had to add salt & pepper. Filet Del Mar - 3.7... a little too overcooked for me and I also had to add a little salt and pepper. Gooey butter cake ... I don't usually do this but 6/5... BUSSIN BUSSIN. I'm a dessert guy and I was NOT expecting this to taste so good. The mint, cranberry and whip cream blended together so well. Came for lunch to celebrate our 20 years dating anniversary. As usual the food did not disappoint. I got the shrimp with grits, wifey got the sirloin and crab cake. lil man got the kids grilled shrimp with broccoli. Also ordered lobster bisque and calamari to share. For drinks got the white sangria and margarita. Everything tasted great! I usually order the bang bang shrimp when we eat here but I wanted something different. And the shrimp and grits were delish. I hadn't been to the rockville center location for a few years. For my birthday I decided to treat myself to a solo moment earlier this month ( October '25). Something has been sitting with me for the past two weeks. Aside from an app and a drink, I ordered the Swordfish & Pumpkin entree. It was an okay dish. Not my favorite but not bad at all. The app ( crab cakes - good. Not stuffed with filling). The server was good. Kind. Attentive. He even said he'd bring me extra feta on the side without me asking. So good service. However, When I requested the bill, I noticed something off. The entree I ordered? There was an additional charge of $6.40. I rarely will complain about the cost of an item. I saw the entree on the menu and made the choice to order it. I found it odd, that the price listed on the menu ($30.40) is different than what I was charged. When I asked about it, I was told that the pumpkin ravioli was a speciality side so they charged additional for it... which is odd because it's listed as part of the entree. I pointed it out and i was made to feel silly the eay i was told that it was meant to be charged extra. My Goddaughter took me and my sister out for Mother's Day here . The ambiance was nice not too loud , loads of families celebrating . We had a noon reservation since we going to the movies after . The service was decent though the initial order of creame brûlée French toast with bacon and needed to be sent back because it was cold . I think they waited to bring all the food together which is customary except this is the result . My sister and I had Egg frittata's served with potatoes and bacon . There was one slice of bacon in my plate . They should have simply made it a la carte . The food wasn't bad , but I wasn't so impressed with the brunch foods but they were also serving dinner . My sister had eating there before for dinner and said the food was good so we decided to go where she wanted to go . The bartender Christian G makes the best Pomegranate martini. Along with the $5 martinis you have to indulge in the Bang Bang Shrimp which is always banging. We came here on a weekend, the baby's first cut. I've been wanting to try this place after binge watching the YouTube series Julia Eats Everything. We arrived when the restaurant was opening, and there were already three families with small dining. We had brunch, and the baby was given papers and crayons to start. The place was actually pretty for a chain restaurant. Service was ok because after we received our meals, the server forgot to give us utensils. The menu lists calories, and our meals were definitely rich yet tasty at the same time. We finished our meals and took the baby's leftovers home. At the end of this dining experience, we didn't eat the rest of the day. I'd like to return either for dinner or social hour. Ambiance was typical Bonefish grill with comfortable booths and tables and plenty of space with great lighting. Interior divided into two areas: a bar and then a sit down restaurant. There is also outdoor patio seating. Service was excellent. Our pleasant waitress was attentive without being intrusive. Quickly took our orders and brought our appetizers and food. Food was tasty. Soup was barely warm and I had to return it to be heated. It came back appropriately hot and was delicious with a little bit of a peppery kick (I'm pepper sensitive so others may think it is perfectly aok). The Maryland crab cakes were not Marylandy but tasty...nothing phenomenal but good. The broccoli was on the soft side and pretty bland. Good for someone who needs very little seasoning. The salmon was delicious but could have used some type of glaze or liquid to help with the grilled dryness. It was accompanied with a lemon butter sauce but that really didn't help because it was a little salty for me. We liked the drunken coconut crème pie. July 9, 2024 - My cousin loves this restaurant and I can see why. Everything was so delicious!! The service was nice and they have lots of seating. We ordered BangBang Shrimp, Tempura Crunch Sashimi Tuna, 2 Chicken & Shrimp, Maryland-Style Crab Cakes, Rainbow Trout & Salmon. So filling I was stuffed. Came here on Wednesday evening with my wife. We were surprised Happy Hour was until 6:30 with drink specials and we decided to have the $5 wines, very reasonable in today's climate. Our waitress welcomed us and brought their bread with the special dipping flavoring - Awesome! So, we ordered 2 glasses of wine and the Fried Calamari with peppers and sweet, spicy Asian sauce to start. For entrees we both ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos with fries. All came out hot and in reasonable amount of time and all tasted great. The fries were crispy, just how I like them. Our entire dinner was awesome! Our waitress kept checking on us to see all was well. Kudos for her. Another great dining experience at Bonefish Grill. I recently visited Bonefish Bar and Grill in Rockville Center, New York, thanks to a gift card, and let me tell you, it was the incredible customer service that will keep me coming back! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and an inviting atmosphere. I was promptly seated and welcomed with water, table bread, and this amazing herbed olive oil that I absolutely have to go back for. Starting with the Bang Bang Shrimp, a staple that you just can't miss, my meal only got better from there. The calamari was seasoned and fried to perfection, served with a delightful aioli. The summer special ceviche was another standout, with crisp tortilla chips and a perfect balance of acidity and seafood. For entrees, I recommend trying what's in season. This time, I had the wood plank salmon with French fries and Brussel Sprouts, and the seared scallops with jasmine rice. The salmon was cooked to perfection, topped with a creamy crab and spinach mixture, and the Brussel Sprouts were perfectly crispy tossed in a slight glaze that will send you to the moon. The scallops were seared beautifully, paired with bacon and feta crumbles, and the jasmine rice complemented them well. Dessert was the cherry on top. The seasonal Drunken Coconut Pie was like an upgraded version of Entenmann's coconut cream pie, warm with delicious bourbon sauce and a healthy amount of coconut bits that had me feeling like I was on a tropical island. But the star of the show was the key lime cake. It had a perfect balance of sweet and salty, with a cream cheese frosting and coconut flakes, served with a swirl of whipped cream. It was so good, I ordered another slice to go, dont judge me!. Special shoutout to our server, Jada, who went above and beyond, and to the rest of the team who provided hands-on service. There is a culture of teamwork that is evident throughout your dining experience. Even when there was an issue with my card and their terminal, the manager swiftly resolved it and even gave me a free appetizer card for my troubles. To drink, we recommend the Pina Colada. Although it wasn't frozen as they do not serve frozen drinks, it sure was tasty and came with a cute garnish. They also have a variety of soft drinks with FREE refills. There's a large variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including a passion fruit rum punch that we heard was great.
