Oregon Backyard Buildings sells Old Hickory brand outbuildings. I was a bit of a skeptic regarding…read moregetting a pre-built shed for my backyard, but these folks won me over for sure. My concerns were primarily about the quality of the finished product, not being a custom-built product. My shed had to be constructed on-site as it could not be maneuvered around everything else on my property but Chad and his helper came down from Scio and made it happen. My takeaways were that the materials were first-rate and Chad and his helper's attention to detail was exceptional. Honestly, I could not have asked for a better experience. The finished product is rock-solid and obviously made to last. If I had one suggestion to offer, it would be that they offer a turn-key solution for foundation and finishing (paint/stain) as part of the build on site option as I had to research and make that happen on my own, but I can understand that each market is different and it might not make business sense for them to be able to offer that. So if you want a shed/workshop/playhouse/possible ADU, etc. ,these folks come highly recommended. My thanks to Mori & Jose for a very smooth transaction and to Chad and his helper for such a great experience and great final outcome. It took them one day to build it, and I could not be more pleased.

You'd never know there was a solar experts biz here just driving by. They are in a huge, non-descript blue warehouse. I found out about them because I had an issue with my Victron unit and that company, located in the Netherlands, listed Lightharvest as their support Reps. They are the only reps anywhere near Portland. And as an earlier reviewer posted, I believe this is the only solar-centric business in Portland. They don't carry a lot of stock so they are not a retail store. But they ordered what I needed and got it to me quickly. And they beat Amazon's pricing. So I couldn't be happier. I much prefer supporting local businesses rather than big box chains and these guys really know their stuff. Excellent customer service. John and Miles instill a lot of confidence that their advice will be spot on. I'm unclear what strategy I am going to use to build an off-grid solar backup system for my essential electrical needs. But I am 100% confident that I will be using these guys for advice and parts ordering. Very happy I found this place!

I came in thinking I had my whole deal figured out and knew exactly what I needed. I was just working with a budget-friendly, portable 12V solar system for DIY festival camping and emergency preparedness, and I needed some fuses. They had what I was looking for and were patient in getting it for me, but the amount of expertise and consideration of my specific parameters they shared was phenomenal, and I left much, MUCH better equipped than I was when I pulled into their parking lot. For an EXCEPTIONALLY reasonable price, I should add. I worked with Miles and Liam, and they were both fantastic human beings who took the time to listen to what I needed and to work with me to find a solution that fit my needs and my budget. Miles in particular had some deep knowledge of the benefits and drawbacks of different brands and you could tell that he was enthusiastic about the work he was doing and the equipment he was sharing. If you know exactly what you need, I'd recommend working with them to create and confirm your order before driving out there, just so that they can make sure everything's in stock and get it put together for you ahead of time. If you don't, it'd be a good idea to be sure that they have the availability to work with you before heading their way. But the bottom line for me - as an owner of a local repair shop myself that prides itself on our above-and-beyond service to our clientele - is that either case, I have full confidence that the folks at Light Harvest Solar will share what they can and make sure you're very well taken care of. Thanks so much, gents. Serious gratitude for the time and energy you put into helping me today. If I need anything else, or as soon as I'm ready to upgrade to a truly big boy system, I will ABSOLUTELY be back.

Alright...it's been 2.5 months since the installation of our sauna and now ready to tell others on…read morethe ledge about pulling the trigger. Always been active, have own home gym and hot tub already, been wanting a sauna for years but didn't really have the room for any type of inside sauna. So my wife and I would always venture to sauna places on vacations (Archmedies Banya in SF, HAVN in Victoria BC, Connect Wellness Vancouver) and we're even using ONSEN in Eugene 2-3 times a week at 40 bucks a pop. Wife and I ventured out west 11th to Cedar Works to take a look. Walk in and see the Northstar traditional steam 5x7 outdoor steam sauna. Price somewhere around $15,000 delivered and installed (minus electrician cost). The inside design was perfect for us, top bench long enough for me (6'3") to lay down with room to spare. Staff was patient and informative leaving me with enough information to be potentially shrink my bank account by 15,000. 2-3 days pass by and I decide to try and pull the trigger. I email them asking if there was any type of left over home show discount or "bald, blue eye discount." Get a response knocking off a couple hundred using the "bald/blue eye discount" if I come down and purchase it today. Get down there quickly as to not miss the "bald/blue eye discount" and pay for it. Install in our backyard scheduled for sept 16-17th. In the couple weeks of waiting (think waiting to open Xmas presents as a kid or waiting to turn 16 to get your license, seemed like it took for freakin ever!) wife and I cleared the area and followed the advice of laying down 3 pressure treated 4x4's for the sauna to be installed on. Electrician recommended by Cedar Works contacted us and came out prior to give an estimate which was around $1700. He was great to work with and knew his job! Install day arrives, the dudes show up and do their thing and the second day while they are finished up, the electrician shows up and does his thing. All of the sudden it's done! We used it that night and every night we have been home since, sometimes multiple times a day. The sauna comes bare wood so stain is recommended to be done asap. Cedar Works recommended Cabot's timber oil and the wife went to work staining. She did an awesome job! Experience: Quality of the sauna is incredible, use is easy, especially with the app, heats up quickly, we keep it at the max temp which is 194. Daily+ use for the last 2.5 months and the sauna has performed perfectly! Cedar Works experience: Down to earth, friendly, and knowledgeable. Price was actually cheaper than I saw online for the exact same model without installation. The installation crew knew exactly what they were doing and worked fast and efficient. Electrician did quality work making the 220 line coming from the breaker box as invisible as possible . So, if you are on the fence trying to decide what kind of sauna, where it could be placed (inside or outside) you gotta pay Cedar Works a visit. I am very glad I did! It's an investment, but it's for your health and quality of life which is worth the investmen. Thanks Cedar Works! Probably have to visit you guy's again when we decide to replace our hot tub.
