In Lodi for one dinner and I wish it was ten! Guantonio's is the BOMB! We sat at counter and watched the kitchen like it was a movie. That crew has it down to a science, awesome to experience. The food was so great! We had a stone fruit Caesar, corn (two inch cuts of cob in a sauce that was delightful) and a pepperoni pizza. Couldn't decide on desert so we had two-cannoli and a twist sundae. Service was great, the team is always moving. Food came out hot, nothing sat on the pass for more than 30 seconds. Only took a couple of pics as I got too preoccupied with eating everything in sight. We come to Lodi once a year, we'll never eat anyplace else.
Came on a busy Friday night and was definitely worth the wait. Guantonio's took us on a full flavor adventure! Tried a few items on the menu and already wanting to go back to try the rest. We've ordered to go before but it was nice to finally sit in for their burger hour (dine in only and one of the best burgers in town, no doubt!) Shoutout to our server Rachel who was extremely kind and efficient. You can dine in or outside. Only 1 bathroom. Family friendly. Great for a date night or girls night even!
Guantonio's is one of those classic local spots that people in Lodi genuinely love, and after eating here, it's easy to see why. The place gets busy fast, which is always a good sign, and the food absolutely lives up to the hype. Everything tastes fresh, hot, and made with care. The appetizers are consistently a standout, and the potato skins are a must. Get them Sicilian style. They're savory, satisfying, and the kind of starter everyone at the table keeps reaching for. Honestly, they set the tone for the whole meal. A quick tip: get there early, ideally right when they open. The parking lot is small and fills up quickly, but there is extra parking along the side of the building and behind it, which helps. Still, this is definitely the kind of place where arriving early makes the whole experience easier. And save room for dessert. Seriously. You have to get dessert. This is not the place to skip it. Yes, you may have to wait a bit, but that's part of the deal with well-loved local restaurants like this. The good news is your patience pays off. Guantonio's is warm, welcoming, delicious, and absolutely worth the wait. I could have sworn I wrote this review already but it's not here and it needs to be! My son just moved to the area. We came to visit him to celebrate his birthday earlier this month. He wanted Italian/pizza for his birthday dinner. We looked up a couple places and decided to come here. We got a side of olives (my husband loves them), a margarita pizza, wings and a salad plus a caramel sundae for dessert. All of the food was great! The crust on the pizza was superb. My husband is picky when it comes to pizza and he said this is up there with the top pizza he's ever had. We enjoyed the wings and salad. The sundae was phenomenal. WOW. The ice cream was so creamy and the caramel was scrumptious. The only bummer was the wait time. They quoted us 30-45 minutes but we didn't get seated until an hour and a half later. Despite that, we will return when we're in town again. Next time we will get there earlier.
I recently checked out Guantonio's for dinner, and overall it was a solid experience... landing at a 4 out of 5 for me. The space has a clean, modern neighborhood feel with a bit of personality. Inside, it's bright and minimalist with warm wood tables, shelves of wine bottles, and a small retail touch (cards, merch) that gives it a local/artisan vibe. There's also a covered outdoor seating area with string lights that looked like a good option for warmer evenings. It's casual but thoughtfully put together, somewhere between a wine bar and a pizza spot. Service stood out as a strong point. It's first-come, first-served (no reservations), but we were seated right away. Staff were prompt and efficient throughout the meal, checking in regularly without hovering, and pacing everything well. We had time to finish our salad before the pizza came out, and they gave us a natural break before dessert. No long waits, no rushing... just well-managed service. We started with the capri salad. I thought it was fresh and well-balanced, but my partner wasn't particularly impressed, and so I'd call that one mixed reviews depending on your expectations. For the main event, we ordered the pepperoni pizza "Nick's way" (with ricotta and hot honey). This was the highlight of the meal. The crust was well executed, nicely cooked with a good chew, not too thick and not overly thin. The pepperoni and hot honey combination worked really well, giving it that sweet-and-savory balance that keeps you going back for another slice. The cheese was excellent, with the ricotta adding a nice contrast. If I had one critique, it's that the sauce was a bit light. I would've preferred a slightly heavier hand there to round things out, but it didn't take away from the overall quality. We each had a glass of wine, my partner had a Pinot, and I had a red blend (not labeled as a house wine, and I couldn't find the exact winery afterward). The by-the-glass selection is limited, but they do have a fairly extensive bottle selection if you want more options. For dessert, we both went with sundaes and honestly, these are worth coming back for on their own. Simple, well done, and genuinely satisfying. If you're nearby, it wouldn't be a stretch to stop in just for dessert. Overall, a strong neighborhood spot with excellent pizza, well-paced service, and standout desserts. A few minor limitations (light sauce, limited wine-by-the-glass options), but definitely worth a visit.
Guantanios... so yummy, seriously. But let's talk about the communal seating inside..not my vibe. And their hours? Limited. Very limited. But hey, I guess making it so exclusive is a genius marketing move... keeps us craving it even more. Nice one, guys. Come for the food, but here's a PSA: you MUST get your own Twisted Sundae. Do not share. Trust me, your taste buds will thank me later. You're welcome.
Had a random Thursday night out in Lodi with great company. We ordered wings and the mushroom pizza and paired it with a sparkling red wine. Our waitstaff was exemplary and we appreciated their attentiveness. For dessert we had a sundae and shared the cannoli. Space is limited, so we shared a table . There's room outside in their patio but I didn't notice if they have heating outside. Our mushroom pizza was delicious. The variety of mushrooms was outstanding and their pizza dough/crust has that beautiful crunch on the outside while staying soft through the middle. I'm usually a red sauce gal but this cheese and mushroom pizza had so much flavor. Not one bit of it was dry. The wings were average but tasty. Our sundaes were delightful but the cannoli was okay. The pizza though... that's a Five Star experience. I can't wait to go back.
The establishment opens at 5:00. MAKE RESERVATIONS! It's a fairly small place that gets crowded. We arrived and were seated. Then we were politely asked if we would move to another seat. We obliged, but that was a service mistake I guess. Because once we were moved, every single table in the entire restaurant ends up getting some form of food on their table before the appetizer we ordered, fried potatoes, was brought to our table. I was literally looking for our waitress to complain as our food was coming out the door. As for the potatoes, my wife and I both thought they were average, and not worth the steep price...for fried potatoes. Now for the pizzas. Both my wife and I were happy with the pizzas. Both were tasty and cooked with the wood fired method I love. I was not the biggest fan of the crust, I'm a crust snob, and while the texture of this crust was great, the flavor was lacking. Again, overall, pretty good, despite the early slow service. But if I'm driving for pizza, I'm heading to Pizza Norcia.
Finally tried after many drive by's over the years. Made Resy for 8pm inside. They were busy and said short wait. No issue as it gave us a chance to get the vibe check the wines and beers out. Both inside and outside was packed. Maybe 10 or so minutes of waiting then seated. Kylee was our server. She was great. Only one tap beer so we chose a couple beers from a pretty robust can assortment in an accessible cooler. And we also had a Pinot Noir. Pizza was hard to choose but being 3 of us we got two pizzas and shared a salad which was plenty for three. The pizzas were a ten on a scale of ten. Hot fresh cooked perfect fab red sauces and so Tasty! Loved the Burrata. Pepperoni and honey had a nice soft spicy taste. The salad was good however not the traditional capresa. Can't wait to come back and try the mushroom pizza which looks fab. What a cool place combined with great customer service. Winner winner!
It was a Saturday night around 530pm and me and my friend were heading to the Plain White T's concert in Lodi and decided to eat in Lodi before the concert. Me and my friend tried to go Pietro's Trattoria first but it was too busy till 8pm so we googled other places and stumbled upon this great pizza place! This is a farm to fork restaurant. There were fresh flowers at the tables that added a cute touch to modern clean vibe. They have outdoor patio seating also. There weren't any regular seats on a Saturday evening but luckily there were 2 seats at the counter right in front of the kitchen where we could watch the staff making the dishes and cooking the pizzas in the wood fire stove. We ordered the capri salad which has lettuce with salami, olives, banana peppers, cheese, and tomatoes and the falco pizza which has sausage, tomato, breadcrumbs, chili, basil, red onion, and fresh mozzarella. We added mushrooms to the pizza for an extra charge. The salad became a bit too sour for me at the end so I had to pick out all the banana peppers but it was a very refreshing salad and we still finished it. It could use a bit less banana peppers. The pizza came out hot. The crust of the pizza was soft and chewy and all the ingredients went well together. I'm glad we added the mushrooms to the pizza. Overall, the food was delicious, fresh, and uses seasonal local ingredients.
Such an adorable family owned restaurant right in the heart of Lodi. Just come prepared that they do not take any reservations, for any party size, and the weight is typically around about one hour for most tables. I have come twice on different days of the week and it's about pretty standard to wait. They do have options to purchase bottles of wine and enjoy outside or take home. They are most famously known for their pizza, pies and soft, serve ice cream, which comes in vanilla and salted caramel. We tried the salted caramel flavor, which was so delicious, but you have to eat quick because it is really soft and almost close to runny. They offer cannolis, but only if you're lucky you'll get one. They were already done for the day when we arrived. This time I tried the pepperoni pizza, Nick style, which comes with hot honey. It was absolutely delicious and I definitely ate more than I should have. Because this restaurant is so busy, I do find that the service is sometimes a little bit lacking. The table that came after us seems to be getting more fast, faster, service, and I believe our waitress may have forgot about our drinks. Additionally, when we asked for red peppers with our food, which we did not receive. The table next to us also wanted to ask for red peppers, but nobody came around until they were done. So since seeing your waiter won't be very often during your visit, I do recommend being prepared every time you would do have them come to your table. The hours of this place are also limited, so probably a good idea to check before you show up. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area and are OK waiting

This place is fantastic. This is me and my mother's second time coming to Guantonio's and it never fails to amaze us. We arrived at the restaurant at 4:30ish (they don't open until 5) and people were already lined up outside. They have very limited seating especially inside. As the doors opened everyone was very respectful and waited their turn to enter. We got a table for two inside and our waitress greeted us and put in our wine order. We were then given the opportunity to taste the wine and allotted more time to think about our order. We ended up getting the hummus, Hana's Greens and meatballs to start. Everything was fantastic, in our opinion the hummus is a must order (5 Stars) just be careful not to burn your fingers on the hot fresh bread. This was the first time we ordered Hana's Acre Greens and we were pleasantly surprised. The salad is very simple only featuring greens, some Parmesan and a dressing but wow is it delicious. It's a perfect accompaniment to everything on the menu, will definitely order it again (5 stars!!). We also ordered the meatballs which are unfortunately not pictured and they were very good as well. We were a bit concerned because the meatballs were slightly pink inside but neither of us got sick so I'm sure we were just being paranoid. I would rate the meatballs (3.5 stars), they are good but you aren't missing out on too much. We also got a pizza, this time it was the mortadella which I have been itching to try! I was mostly full by the time it arrive but still decided to try it. The pizza was crispy and fresh, the mix of cheese mortadella and pistachio was a fantastic combo and I highly recommend it. Lastly we got the vanilla salted caramel swirl soft serve to end the night and no regrets. It is genuinely one of the best ice cream/sundaes I have ever had and I would go back just for that!! I also want to emphasize the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Everyone working there is extremely helpful and makes sure that all parties are taken care of. Our waitress gave us great recommendations and made sure that all of our food was enjoyed. The interior is also very cute, and even if you don't manage to snag an inside table they have heating lamps outside to make sure you are comfortable. Overall if you are in the Lodi area and don't mind waiting for a table, Guantonios is a MUST visit!! Can't wait to go back!
What a pleasant surprise this weekend...my daughter and her BF have been talking up this place and so when I was down for the weekend we decided to give it a try. Be forewarned this place gets busy! I would suggest doing what my daughter's BF did and get here at 5p when they open and get your name on the wait list. It's a small place with out door seating a la well...service was outstanding and loved the vibe and ambiance. Food was amazing! Started off with the persimmon and burata salad amazing! Then went into some hot wings amazing! Then had our pizzas which were also amazing! I loved everything about this hidden gem and I know you would as well. This is a must stop in Lodi! read more

Very cute corner pizza joint; you can see the Brick oven where they cook their pizzas. This is my 2nd time here. We had 4 pizza 2 were pepperoni but one had spicy honey. One pizza had mushrooms, and the other one I don't remember lol. But for appetizers, we ordered hummus meatballs and two different salads. One of them was some sort of brussels sprout salad and that was my favorite. They don't have "ranch" instead they have something called pizza dipping sauce. I remember this from last year as well. I hope one day they'll make their own ranch from scratch for the sake of traditional ranch with pizza people. We waited for about 1 hour 15minutes on a Thursday night for 8 people. Perfectly wood fired pizza. I arrived around 5:30pm on a Saturday and didn't get seated until 7pm! So go right when they open! I ordered the Amatriciana pizza (smoked pork belly, red onion, red sauce, garlic, pecorino). The crust is so paper thin, yet it folds and holds the sauce perfectly. The pork belly and red sauce were fantastic. The dough has the perfect amount of moisture. Every bite of Guantonio's pizza was marvelous. 100% recommended! read more

Really, really good. Lodi isn't known for much, but I hope it becomes known for this spot. The food? Delicious. Girlfriend and I split a couple plates. We got a seasonal salad with oranges, very fresh, depth to the flavor, nice texture. We also got the roasted cabbage plate, another really nice dish. It was warm, homey, and was in a nice curry style oil. Both plates were flavorful, fresh, just everything you'd like. Now, what you came for. Yeah the pizza is really quite good. Of course their classic can only be so good, but good nonetheless. Their specialty pizzas though are really where they stand out. Again, all fresh and just full of so much flavor. We got the Porchetta pizza and man they just really nailed it. I have notoriously lamented the lack of good pizza in the valley, but Guantonio's puts itself on the map for good reason. All the staff were courteous, caring, and hard working. I never caught the waitresses' names but they were all very engaging. If you're in Sacramento, definitely worth a run out for a date night. This is one of the best restaurants in Northern California. This is the epitome of what I love about a restaurant. It's a small family owned business that brings the heat with how great the food is. Service is great and the building is well designed. The only downside that would deter someone is there are no reservations. Despite that it is worth standing in line while you get a bottle of wine and stand in the patio. Most of my favorite dishes aren't even pizza. The Not Pizza part of the menu is where I recommend you spend your time on. The pizza is great but I would happily eat everything else including the desserts. If you're in the area this is worth your time and money. It deserves to have a Michelin star. read more

LOVE this gem of a place here in little Lodi. Theres wood-fired pizza but we usually get the small dishes. Lots of super yummy and surprisingly, meatless options. So for me, as a meat lover, to adore this place that has to say something. I could be vegan eating here. Chef knows his flavors and puts together interesting combinations. Sometimes we have no idea what we're tasting but we just know it's GOOOOOD lol. We always end the meal with their super yum buffalo milk, caramel soft serve. Only open Wed-Sat, 5-9PM fyi. read more

Best pizza around, we drove 40 minutes to get here and it was worth it! My buddy got us there an hour before they opening and I'm glad he did, the line was crazy at opening. I have been waiting to be able to dine here for quite some time and let me know tell you, it was worth it!! Arrived right at 5 and there was already a line and wait, which I already knew there would be. There was a bit of a wait but not too long, we were able to order drinks and enjoy it outside as we waited for our table. As always, knew exactly what I wanted to order once we sat down. Pizzas arrived fast, much appreciated. To top off our Great meal, we had their salted caramel ice cream!!!!!!! Yummmm The decor inside was so cute, love their staff shirts as well! read more

My friends and I really enjoy this place for dinner and wine. The staff and owners are awesome. Great atmosphere! If there's one thing I had to critique, it would be the consistency of the food. The few times that I've gone, the food never tastes the same. Not sure if it's due to different cooks or what. Sometimes the food is great and other times it's just good. But overall still a great place, I definitely recommend! The ice cream sundae is amazing! read more

What an absolute gem! Great pizzas, great dessert. It's first-come, first-serve only, so be prepared to wait a bit. It's worth it! Our party of 4 went a little overboard and ordered 4 pizzas since everything sounded good... and we finished it all! - Mushroom: The group favorite! Loved the variety of mushrooms. - Falco: As a red sauce girly, this was perfection alongside our other white sauce pizzas. It has a slightly kick from the chili, but not too overpowering. - Calabrian: If you like potatoes on your pizza, this is for you! The potato is sliced thin but still firm. - Biancoverde: Garlic crema complimented the super creamy burrata so well. This was my personal favorite. We got a buffalo milk softserve and a sundae swirl (buffalo milk + caramel softserve) for dessert. The buffalo softserve has a very unique taste and was a great way to end the meal. read more
Guantonios never lets us down.. as usual the Nicks way pizza is yummy This time we tried the caprice salad which was out of this world. The "fluffy" ( yeah I said that..) fresh mozzarella , the green olives, Pepperoncini, salami, fresh crunchy lettuces , married with an Italian dressing.. perfect! Btw huge serving , enough for two! We sat at the counter, was a fun experience. Watching Nick's quality control in action.. so many ideas to try next time. One of these times I need to leave room to try the specialty soft serve ice cream which I heard from the person sitting next to me to be the "bomb". read more

Came back while in the area. Food is still amazing. BUT, Customer service is lacking. Not sure what's going on here but I'd be willing to assist with feedback on overall efficacy when dealing with large crowd/customers, daily operations. Overall once you're seated, and order, food from kitchen comes out quickly. However, customer interaction, satisfaction with service has declined (minus one star). read more

Guantonio's pizza is the type of pizza you dream of getting again once you leave. The seating here is perfect for any sized group. Loved the lights and homey aspect of Guatonio's. Parking here will be along the streets, just be prepared since there tends to be a wait so get there early! Appetizers wise, my friends and I enjoyed the Chickpea hummus. Great to start off the whole meal. Some of the pizzas I loved here were Cacio E Pepe, Falco, and Mushroom. The Cacio E Pepe was simple, yet so cheesy and flavorful. Falco is a top hit if you love sausage and basil on your red pizzas. Mushroom is one you can never go wrong, it's just that good. The smokiness of the pizza here is just A-Tier. Highly recommend! Looking forward to going back. read more
