Sorry, but this place is getting roasted: 2 stars (with an asterisk). Let me start by saying I'm going to do a Guac Time vs. Talkin' Taco comparison since they are next to each other, just to save you from disappointment. This place will NEVER, EVER sniff a 5-star rating, unless you're an idiot with bad taste who just likes to give out random 5 stars. The food was OK at best. I had the tacos and the bowl. FIRST OF ALL, let's start off with the biggest elephant in the room. I looked this place up online because my brother got me some chips and guac, and I noticed, "Hmmm, these are some big bags of chips." The chips are oily, and the guac is the biggest piece of dog crap guac I've ever had. I've had store-bought guac better than that! If you want good guac, go to Talkin' Taco; don't waste your money or your breath for this experience. I'm TELLING YOU! I got online to check their prices and I was like, "Oh, OK, the prices ain't that bad." I thought it was going to cost $26.50 + tax, as it said on the website. Oh my days, I was freaking wrong! I ended up spending a dang $42, and that's not even including the drinks--which I obviously got from outside because drinks are a low-quality item no matter where you go. The rice tasted like cafeteria rice, typical enriched rice. The chicken was OK, but yes, they skimp on the protein. Their sauce selection is trash. It's just a wannabe Chipotle with more sauce selections. Basically, this place has no reason to exist, in my opinion, because it's more expensive than Chipotle, and Chipotle is legit right up the block. It's just another trash Halal place using hype to make money with low-quality food. The interior was freaking trash too, looking like a dang Subway. Listen, I've got high standards. It doesn't even have to be that high, but at least Talkin' Taco has 5-star potential. This place doesn't. This place has no right to be in this location because it's nothing but a money-grabbing, piece-of-trash place. You can clearly go somewhere else. Support local instead, because you'll be more satisfied. I'd rather go to a Mexican food truck. Like dude, at this point, just serve halal food, bro, cause y'all are never sniffing 5 stars... Like I said: either go to Chipotle or go to Talkin' Taco! Don't give this place a chance, you will regret it! I'm 100,000,000% sure! Get this place out of here! Guac Time was unfortunately a one-and-done experience for me. Customer service sets the tone, and the young lady with glasses was neither friendly nor welcoming. A little kindness goes a long way, and this visit felt like customers were more of an inconvenience than appreciated. What made matters worse was seeing a shorter male employee touch his nose while wearing gloves and then continue working without changing them -- something no customer wants to witness in a food establishment. Also the garbage was overflowing and the seating area was unwelcoming and not clean and orderly. To top it off, the quesadilla was honestly the worst I've ever had. Poor service, questionable food handling, and disappointing food quality made this an easy place to skip. It's a shame because experiences like this are exactly why some restaurants struggle to stay open. Just tried this spot and had a really great experience. The quesadilla was delicious and the portion was super generous definitely worth it. They even included a free drink, which was a nice surprise. Customer service was on point, and I had the chance to meet the owner, who was genuinely kind and welcoming. Packed with flavors, the food is really fresh and delicious. I'm not a huge fan of Chipotle restaurant but just for comparison I'll use them as a reference. The set up at Guac Time is similar but food is immensely better ( more seasoned) and there are more items to choose from. Oh and it's Halal items if that a requirement for you this is a place you can try. The service was great, the cashier was one of those guys who has a permanent smile. I had the Birria tacos and guacamole. The consomè was very good, I was surprised ,I wasn't expecting such deep flavors. The taco were a good size and packed with meat. I was very satisfied . They have Jaritos, Fanta amd Mexican Coke. I will return. By the way, no bathroom. I almost bypassed the restaurant because it looked closed ,the tint on the windows is very dark and you can't really see inside from the sidewalk. I'm glad I peered in closer . I had a delivery order of a chicken burrito wrap and a chicken burrito bowl. The burrito was packed and the burrito bowl was generously filled to the top with sour cream and hot sauce on the side. Both were tasty and seemed very fresh. The chicken was soft and juicy. The vegetables were crisp and fresh. Delivery was fast and packing was decent. This is much better and healthier than a "fast food" restaurant. I would order from here again, anytime. read more

Coming here for lunch was such a great choice and was so close to my work and I never realized it! The portions are excellent like usually I can finish a whole chipotle bowl but I could only get through half the guac time bowl and now I get to have leftovers for dinner which i'm so excited about. All the ingredients tasted fresh and I especially loved the cilantro sauce. Also the queso blanco as a topping was not extra!!! Game changer bc I love queso. Chips were crisp and tasty too. I've always ordered at the Brooklyn location, but decided to order from the Chelsea location to deliver to my work. I think the Chelsea location packs the container less than the Brooklyn location, but it's still a good amount of food. I am always left satisfied! I love their crispy chicken tacos they hit everytime the make the taco shells in house & they never get soggy, everytime I go they're out of the jerk chicken :/ it's $18 for 3 tacos so super expensive in my opinion. It's a small spot lunch rush there's a line most times but it moves pretty quick.. I think there might be one table in there it's super small mainly a togo spot. Ordered two veggie burritos through Uber Eats and I love the fact that they didn't charge extra for guac! We loaded up our burrito and when we got them we threw them on the grill for a bit to have more of a crunch. So creamy from the guac, and filling from the veggies and flavorful! The best part was that afterwards we didn't feel gross similar to how we'd feel after Taco Bell. Shockingly this place is so good! The birria tacos did not disappoint, the flavor was there. The quesadilla was stuffed, very mess & kept falling apart but like I said the flavor!!! Everything I ordered was freshly made even thought it was midnight. Location is small but it's a great place after a night out drinking. We went to the Franklin Square location since there were doing grand opening and giving out a free Burrito or bowl. And we waited for almost two hours getting excited how their bowls are like! However, when it was finally our turn, the servers were not nice, they didn't listed to what we asked to put into our bowls, and they put random things in our bowl, and the amount of food was half of what we expected. I understand it was a free meal and maybe that's why the amount was not so good, but still, we waited for almost two hours outside in a cold weather, and at least I hoped the servers were nicer. We ordered a taco kit at 3 AM and LOL idk if it's because it was 3 AM after a night out or what but damn these tacos were BUSSIN. Guac Time is a fast casual Tex-Mex restaurant that is set up similar to Chipotle. The menu is your typical Tex-mex offerings. You can get quesadillas, nachos with meat and cheese, tacos, and burritos. It is more of a grab and go kind of place. The prices are decent and the other thing that stands out is that they have good portion sizes - noticeably bigger and more filling than Chipotle. The food was definitely fresh, and they offered a lot of toppings for your bowls or salads. I got chicken and shrimp in mine. The flavors were good, and more on the sweet rather than savory side. The shrimp was a little overcooked to me, so that was kind of a bummer. I liked that the bowl came with chips, and that they were not an extra cost. The green sauce on the side was very tasty. I know for a fact tomorrow ill be extra thirsty as the tacos I ordered were... not sure.. rinsed in salt or something. Super quick in and out deli style Mexican food restaurant with a significant variety of fresh food. For example, when you order a fish dish... like fish tacos, etc., they grill it right in front of you! Huge burritos too! They're a full dinner by themselves for $12-13 bucks. read more

Came to NYC to celebarte New Years with family and wanted to try some local birria tacos. We came across this place and ordered some chicken and beef birria tacos. First time trying these and I absolutely loved it. Since it was Halal, my mom got to try these tacos for herself. The flavor and the sauce was just right. The only issue I had was that the taco breaks so easily even before dipping it in the sauce. I was a bit surprised that they had Halal options here. Overall it was a decent spot. Stopped by for the first time today and found out they just opened a couple days ago! It's a bright and fun location and the staff is super friendly. The food is good for the price. My dining companion and I got the honey Chipotle chicken burrito and the sweet chili shrimp burrito. Both were very different in flavor but equally good. There are sooo many different options for protein and toppings. I love that you can mix and match a lot. They even have sauces at the end which adds a whole new layout of flavor. The shrimp is a bit on the sweet side and the chipotle chicken was definitely less sweet. I recommend the Spanish rice, so yum. Guacamole is free which is awesome. There's two types, spicy and regular which was cool to see. There's really an option for everyone I'd say. Overall, I would return. I wouldn't go out looking for it specifically but if I'm in the area I'd definitely choose Guac Time over other eateries in the neighborhood. read more
