I seriously regret not reading the reviews before bringing my boat to GT Boats in Cordelia. This place is a joke. The entire experience was a disaster, characterized by zero communication, complete disregard for customer service, and blatant unprofessionalism. When I first met Lou, he seemed friendly, but then I was hit with a cloud of marijuana smoke following him out of his office. Fine, I don't judge, but it's hard to trust someone who can't stay sober enough to run a business. When my boat trailer was towed to GT Boats, Lou had promised to move my boat and trailer to the back of the shop within 30 minutes and find a place for it. I left it in his hands and awaited for his update. However after a few days with no updates, no returned calls, and no communication whatsoever, I got suspicious. I stopped by at 6 a.m. to find my boat still sitting on the street--4 days later. I immediately called Lou from my cell phone, but it went straight to voicemail. When I called from my work phone, he picked up right away. I asked why I hadn't received any updates and why my boat was still on the street. He gave me the excuse that he was still looking for parts and claimed he'd move my boat at once. I told him I was worried about my gear being stolen, and he assured me not to worry. At that point, I realized I couldn't trust this guy to do the work he promised. Three days later, my boat was still sitting on the street 1 full week after dropping it off, so I called a tow company to take it away. Lou's either scamming people or too busy getting high to actually run a business. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. read more

Lou was the best!! I took my bass boat in and he got it running fast. I recommend this place!!!!

I cannot say enough good things about Lou and his team!! Not only did they fix my jet skis at a reasonable price, they also showed me how to maintain it, clean it, operate the trailer, and how to do many things the previous owner failed to mention (I am a first time owner and user)!! Also, other repair shops (without looking at my jet skis) were coming up with all sorts of possibilities that were costly, Lou quickly recognized that the old jet skis just had very old gas that failed to let it run properly. Dont have any hesitation when bringing your stuff to Lou, he will take good care of you and at a reasonable price! read more

I brought my 2007 BMW F650GS in to have a new set of tires put on. Lou was very kind and courteous and the price was fair. He had the job done an hour and a half later. The tires were properly installed and balanced, and I was very happy with the job he'd done. I will certainly be back. read more

Call someone else, that's my recommendation. I've called 3 times and was blown off TWICE! They either have enough money and don't need new customers, or the receptionist is being allowed to run this shop right into the ground. Ouch. I'm thinking her lack of customer service was a blessing now that I'm reading other reviews...I was also told around "$1800" without even seeing my boat. This is a great place to get your boat serviced/fixed. Lou tells you up front that he is a man of his word and he absolutely means it!! Since I was unable to tow my boat to their shop due to car issues, Lou came to my house and picked up the boat and in two days he dropped off the boat! Its been two months since they serviced/fixed our boat and it is running great! I highly recommend this place. They are willing to work with you an are a fair price to the average working person. Went there a few months ago to pick up some oil and inquired about some service. They were sure my gimble bearing needed to be replaced even though they never looked at it. Also wanted to replace all the seals on my lower even though the boat was not there and didn't even do a pressure test.. wanted something around $1800.00 for services that I didn't even need. Definitely will not be going there ever and will not be recommending this place. Stay away!! IMHO it seemed like the we're trying to get over on me as if I didn't know anything about boats. If you want to pay someone to break your boat and then charge you more to fix what they broke but then tell you they don't know what's wrong with it and give it back to you all torn apart then this is your place. DO NOT take your boat here! This place should be shut down. It's costing me thousands of dollars to fix my Centaurian boat that they screwed up and fried the electronic control module on. read more

I Love this place they are VERY Knowledge here......I took my boat here because i had a problem with my strut mount and he took one look at and figured out what the problem was........Came back next day and he had it all fixed....I also had him install a stering system for me which came out GREAT!! Ive been to almost every boat repair shop in this local area and this place BY FAR seems to have the most experiance and the most SMARTS... If you have diagnostic problem this is place to bring you boat for sure NO DOUBT! read more

I can not say enough good things about the owners & this place. Excellent customer service!!! I needed a new ignition put in & everyone was booked (time of the year & Fourth of July) but they were willing to take a little extra time to do my relatively simple job and squeezed me in to their hectic schedule while remaining very personable. They also tightened up a loose spot with my windshield. To top it off they charged me a more than fair price- not taking advantage of me and/or the situation. Awesome customer service, honest work. Mary was awesome! It's a relief to find good honest shops. They looked through my 1987 Sanger, did an oil change recommended some slight additional work and then told me honestly what could wait until winter to do. I will definitely come here every time for my marine motor needs. You know a shop is honest when you give them a blank check, tell them fix what ever is needed and tune up what ever is needed and then they call you and tell you "we could do more work but honestly you don't need certain things yet and it's best if you save the money and come back off season to get it done for less".... Awesome service. I recently went in for what I thought would be a simple transom seal replacement with an oil change. I received a call a couple days later from Mary and was informed that the motor block rotted out which caused the boat motor to drop and crack the seal.. I was told that the repair alone would cost more than what the boat was worth and they didn't want to fix the Transom seal just to have a bigger problem in the future.. .. communication was excellent and they really put effort and care in making sure things are done right and in a timely manner. This boat shop is knowledgeable, reasonable and they WORK ON OLDER BOATS, too! I had been having trouble getting my 1996 GlasTron with an OMC serviced. I tried a few shops in the area, one shop even kept my boat for 2 weeks before telling me that they would not work on it. On a recommendation, I thought I would give GT Boats a try, and I am glad I did. The mechanic took the time to explain a few things to me, and the girl behind the counter was helpful and easy to schedule with. They did an impeller, oil change and rear unit job on my boat- with fair prices and a two day turn around, I was a happy guy. I will definately return. read more

Took my boat there to have it gone through. I was told we needed a few things that totaled almost $2000.00 One thing being a new carb. I authorized the work and when we picked up the boat and put it in the water (during vacation in the summer) the boat would not run very well, when we took the boat to them it ran strong but we had just purchased it and wanted to make sure all was well. - when we picked it up after the work was done there was very little power. we had to take it back several times after being told we had to wait because they had other boats to work on. Still after 3 times our boat was never fixed and Mary the owners wife was not very pleasant to work with by the end of our visits. We ended up having to pay someone else to dial in the carb and get our boat running in the manner it did when we took it there. Poor service, the mechanic was nice but Mary needs to work on her customer service skills... Especially, since it was there fault our boat was not running well. Don't take it personal just fix the problem you created. I paid $$$ for that much! read more

I love giving work and paying extra money to small family run businesses that take pride in what they do and have decent morals.... that being said, this shop has none of that. This shop charged me 460 dollars to change an impeller on my 25hp motor when I supplied the part, they costed me 2200 extra dollars by not putting a 50 cent gasket on the gear oil screw (2200 dollars is what it cost me to buy a new lower unit and have it reinstalled) they lied to me about saying it was fixed and that I had nothing to worry about, eventually quit answering my calls, the mechanic was never there when I showed up, but they told me he was working on it, 6 weeks later they call and tell me they don't feel comfortable working on it after they were the ones to ruin it...... beware of this shop, they will get over on you every chance they can!!! They still have not apologized, or even tried to make things right....ZERO STARS!!!!!! read more

GT Boats, what can I say? Two words, TOTALLY AWESOME!!!!. Last December I bought a 1975 18 Ft Bluewater with a Mercruiser I/O. Having had this same setup in my last boat, I knew I needed somethings done, it sat for 6 years. Everyone I called told me they wouldn't work on a 40 year old boat and good luck finding someone. I found GT Boats and talked to Mary, No Problem Tom. They did a GREAT JOB at a very fair price. I can't say enough about how great they are. Just a heads up any older reviews you see on here are for the old ownership. I would have to say that there is a major difference between talking to the husband and the wife. What you hear from the husband will most likely be closer to the truth as far as what he did to your boat. I think they mean well however I do not think they provide thorough service and you may end up getting your boat back with things newly broken. Which not only happened to us but while I was there one day another customer kept trying to ask me questions when Lou would walk away. He expressed how he noticed something on his boat that was newly broken and he was very unhappy with the service that his boat has been there for 2+months. I was still in the beginning stages of getting my boat repaired and was already having that oh no gut feeling but I wanted to give this guy a chance to resolve our situation. After several visits of bringing my boat back and forth to this place and a lot of money later I still have a boat that does not run and was not willing to spend more money here if the 2+ thousands I had already spent landed me in the same position I was in prior to coming here. The wife Mary is a schmoozer. Should have run when she asked if we are paying cash or marijuana!! She will tell you anything to make you feel better about your situation or will even make up things and tell you why you are having x,y, and z problems when really you never had did that with your boat or ever had those problems before. Quit disappointing because I selected this place based on old review and I know so did that other customer because he told me. listen, these guys are probably the best there is in northern calif. you get a fair deal from honest shop. when you need it , they got it.! if it's broken...they can fix it.! not too many shops like this left ANYWHERE anymore!!! friendly & super knowledgeable folks who know about all boats period! i really like the fact that they don't try to sell ya stuff ya don't need, and their not tryin to get rich off the stuff they do sell ya!...mom & pop type shop, not a big box chain with sales people who really can't give ya the hands on service and valuable advice ya need to maintain your boat. thanks G T Boats!, your commitment to exellence has made me a lifelong customer!!!. read more
