I am un incredibly disappointed with this business. The repair person showed up and from what I can tell there was a bolt missing connecting the motor to the actual garage door. He asked me if that is where it was attached and that was my first red flag, isn't this your job to know where things are attached? Then he proceeded to tell me it would cost me $179 to put a bolt in it. I was shocked at what he was suggesting the repair fee was for a bolt. When I expressed this, he said he would do it for $150. I sent him away and went to the hardware store. Spent $1.02 and did it ourselves. I will never use this business again, definitely tried to rip me off. read more

My old garage door opener finally bit the dust after many many years and it appeared well beyond any simple repair. When I called, Garen responded quickly to my call and after letting him know of my old model and situation he recommended a replacement he had in stock and was able to come over at my first availability. He arrived on time and proceeded to get to work replacing my old opener and finished the job exactly as indicated. One of the cables of our carriage garage door broke, tearing the metal plate that holds the cable to the door. The garage door was stuck three feet above the ground, and could not be manually dislodged. Garin came out within 24 hours to do the repair. He managed to free up the door (I don't know he did it), and then replaced both the plate and cable. Garin completed the repair within an hour. He fully explained the nature of the repair and was exceptionally courteous. The fee was quite reasonable, and the quality of service was superior. Absolutely fantastic service! I called this morning because the spring on our garage door snapped last night. I spoke with Garin who told me that he would be here at 3 PM. I left work at 2 PM and sure enough, Garin was here at 3 PM! He told me it would take 45 minutes to replace the springs and it took just under that amount of time. He showed me both springs: the broken one and the other one that I decided to replace to have both be brand-new. I can only say this was an absolute fantastic experience, the price was right, there were no hidden charges, they took credit cards right at my house, and everything worked out to perfection. I would highly highly recommend this business to everyone in Novato and Marin in general. Kudos for a job well done! Both times he came over right away, clearly explained what needed to be done and the cost, and quickly completed the work. Then, I was told that I would get a call back within 2 hours to tell me if they could come out to fix my garage door that same day. They called me back in 2 hours and were at my house shortly thereafter. An hour later, the ugly mess was fixed for a reasonable price. To me, a good business should: 1) answer the phone; 2) do what they say they will do; 3) show up on time; 4) charge reasonable rates; and 5) be pleasant. GS did all that! My garage door got stuck on an extension cord and came off the tracks. Since it is an older garage door, many of the hinges and screws popped off. It was a Sunday and i was desperate, so i saw all the 5 Star reviews for GS OVERHEAD SYSTEMS and gave them a call. Garen called me back within an hour and confirmed with me that i was able to get my garage door closed. He told me since the garage was secure, he would be out the next day to fix it. Garen showed up right on time with his tools and fixed the issue quickly. The price was more than reasonable, much less than i was expecting to pay. He also told me that my garage door operating system is a LiftMaster, and was approximately 18 years old. He stated that LiftMaster is an excellent brand and the life expectancy of the motor is about 15 years. He examined it and told me that it seemed to be in good operating shape still and didn't need replacement at this time. The first time, my very old garage door opener had died while my car was in the garage. Called Garen about problem with tenants remote not working.I told him I would pay for new remote and service call when could he schedule it. He responded that the remote was no longer made but he might have one but he would diagnose the problem first and then tell me what my options were.I live 2hrs away and did not expect to hear back until next day. Garen called me later same day and said programming on remote needed to be done and now everything worked. I asked how much did I owe and he responded no charge! Our garage door broke on Saturday afternoon. We called the company we regularly use, to find out they were closed, of course. Then I checked yelp!!! Should have done that first. GS is open Saturday and Sunday! I called right at 5:00, actually their closing time, and left a message. Garin called back within five minutes, even though they were closed.
